I view this upcoming season with more of a big picture view. As others have pointed out, the NCAA Tourney can be a bit of a crap shoot. A deep tourney run would be great of course, but my hope is that this year begins a long sustained run of success - consistent NCAA Tourney appearances, always being relevant .. like Xavier and Gonzaga. Avoid major rebuilding seasons. That's far more important than a Cinderella run like Loyola or Mason, etc.  I want Ford to build a program that has staying power.

-good luck with what sounds like a very worthy endeavor, and I echo what BRich said about action being key for an 8yr old, you might try using Google Earth to find a farm near you that has a pond and ask if you could take your daughter fishing there and if granted permission, remember, if you want to return to leave the area cleaner than when you found it

-Dept of Conservation might have some tips

Agreed, an underfished farm pond on a beautiful day with the kiddos, lifetime memories right there.

Also, Hats sunglasses and barbless hooks for the crew.

Suson County Park in South County has 2 decent lakes, a farmpark with many animals and a good sized playground.  Bee Tree county Park has a nice lake and playground.

My daughter loves Suson.  Bee tree is a cool park, but would be a haul from st Charles. I grew up by Bee tree and used to fish there a lot, everyone talks about the big fish in there, should be plenty as I have never been able to catch one.

I am all in for the St. Louis flag, but God no on the St. Clair County Flag.  It is the worst possible combination of the Japanese flag and some Cold War communist African country's flag possible.  If it is not the worst flag ever, it is among them.

had never really seen this flag before, googled it, your description was spot on.

I find myself bouncing off of the walls reading thru this thread (I seldom wish for the summer and fall to speed up, but I find myself doing just that), who is game for some sort of billikens.com tailgate before the home opener? Probably wouldn't require much planning, but I would be willing to help plan.

So this is going to be a thing right?

Bauman and WGSTL - lots of big talk last year at this time and what did that get us?  I know who could have predicted what happened but unexpected things can still happen such as injuries for one.  All I am saying no need to be bragging until you know that this team really will come together - I hope just as you do but I just think it makes more sense to be cautiously positive not strutting all over the place.  You go ahead do what you want but I plan to be a bit more careful.

Let SLU make a run to the 2nd weekend in the dance,  and any P5 program in the dumpster  looking for a quick turn around will be contacting Travis' agent. I'd wager Porter got a few hits after last year's miracle run, but they just weren't appealing enough.

Time will tell, can we just take  some sh-t  in stride.  Are we really worried SLUs biggest problem is people wanting to hire our coach because of how well we are doing?  There are worse problems to have, many of which we have lived through, like having a coach nobody would want. In Ford we trust. In Dr C we trust. (Fred Pestello still a clown however)

Remember, this isn’t only about “playing an ACC team”.  This is about getting the team comfortable and experienced with Barclay’s, the same venue which will host the A10 Championship come Spring.

Should prob schedule a game at US bank stadium then!

As for your comparison question, Hankton seems a bit reminiscent of Izik Ohanon.  Hopefully he'll be even better.

As for the barbecue discussion (which is off the topic, but I understand how it began), I've created my own barbecue sauce recipe which contains a can of tomato sauce and a cup of white vinegar, along with sugar, molasses, and spices.  It's delicious.  I don't think it has to be a question of either tomato or vinegar.

White vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar?

  10. You have all been reported to weathers for participation in unauthorized images, she has already found you guilty. Tilkowsky is currently bashing you  on the internet from his moms basement, and  Fred pestello has requested you take a course on managing toxic masculinity before you can post again. Happy Friday

    What am I missing here?

TheChoosenOne pointed out that it was reported  Isabel was an immature guy and possibly a bad teammate as an 18 year old kid at Mi$$our. He then points out he seems to have matured and had a monster season. He said some idiot Mizzou posters like didn't want him back and some did.

    What's the problem here?

I haven't seen anything but positives about him here and that's all that matters.  I'm super pumped about his commitment and can't wait for the season.

Oh and Gave DeArmond is a ******, I'd rather be forced to read the unreadable format of Tiger board for 5 hours than listen to or read Gabe for 5 minutes.

    The format really is garbage.

That board is all around miserable.

If you'd said "if a tornado doesn't decimate the city," okay.  Maybe a devastating earthquake.  But we have a greater chance of destruction from a hurricane than a volcanic eruption.

There aren't even mountains in St. Louis!

Every St Louisan  knows the next new Madrid earthquake is what will destroy the city! its part of the classic St Louis lore.

Is any story, no matter how positive, that discusses Goodwin going to be fair game to once again argue "facts" about the S2 case?  Really, this thread is supposed to be about JG's return to the program, yet it has been hi-jacked to a discussion about a 2017 incident that we are close to putting in SLU basketball's rearview mirror.  There is a 200+ page thread on S2 and the way it was mishandled by various school administrators.  Would it be possible to ask those of you who still feel the need to write about that incident to post in that thread and keep threads such as this one limited to the Topic line?

Once he starts racking up triple doubles and Ws the likes of which this city hasn't seen, and the casual fan gets a chance to see what a hard working and genuinely good dude he is, that's what people will talk about. I can't wait for the soon to come time when the bandwagon fills with people who will tell you how much they believed in him from the beginning!

I guess it's really none of my business if a man in his 50s or 60s wants to hold ill will towards a young woman in her late teens or early 20s because of her own youthful indiscretions, but I'm just saying I think it would more pleasant for said man to focus that moment on the interaction between Goodwin and the fans than on the reaction of an accuser who didn't levy an accusation against Goodwin and probably wouldn't find the response upsetting.

If you'd said you'd be interested in seeing Pestello's reaction to the ovation, I wouldn't have anything to say.

I agree, the common ground is that pestello is a clown. The good money is pestello reaction consists of him sitting there in an old cat lady sweater  with his legs crossed crushing what should be testicles and  the look of a displeased librarian on his face. It  was his standard MO last year.
