I can't speak for the St Louis HS community, but typically a HS coach would be in the realm of 60-80k, usually the camps funds then go to the assistants who are paid little to nothing during the season. That said, there are Texas HS football coaches making 6 figures, I just don't see that being the case here. My guess would be he's making 75k, maybe gets another 5-10k off camps (but most anything made there goes to assistants). As a SLU assistant coach he should be in the 125k range.

According to the SLU website Ash is A RS Junior. But now that you say that I believe they are wrong.

By my calculations we should have 3 schollies available for 2015, we will definitely have one of the youngest teams in the country at that point. Let's hope we keep upgrading the talent and that age won't make a huge difference.

This is interesting, I was in St. Louis over the weekend and had this same thought about St. Louis having an MLS team. I think they would get the support and it would be great for everyone. Maybe they could rent out SLU's stadium to start and provide some revenue for SLU.

I must admit, I went Barnett, Macura and Martin. The 4th that I went with I have not seen talked about much, Sean O'Mara, perhaps people don't think we have a strong chance with him, but a little while back one of the ESPN analysts comments was that he would be the big score of our recruiting class and a big that could play right away for us. You are correct, what they have done is tell the player there is an available spot on the roster if the player wants it.

There is 1 major difference between Allen and Mac, Allen has always been an extremely hard worker, Mac is not.

As a Cavs fan, I have two choices: 1st Nerlens Noel and would expect we will be in the lottery again next year which could be really good for the long term or 2nd Otto Porter who adresses the largest team need and will be a very good player, probably not great though. Please no Mac.

I asked a similar question in another thread, namely who coaches our bigs? The NCAA does restrict the number of coaches, as well as the number of GA's, so you can't just add one without another leaving.

Not to change the subject, but I was wondering which one of our coaches focuses on the big men? I'm not sure I feel they're doing a very good job. CE performed admirably last year, but mainly as an oversized guard (not trying to argue 3,4,5). Loe shows signs of development, but I can't help but feel that happens more when he is in New Zealand.

Just read an interesting article, the SEC has hired a scheduling consultant and the league will review all non-con games for approval. Seems the SEC was pissed about their poor showing this year. Should be an excellent way for teams like SLU to get some SEC games on the schedule (see Vandy as example). Would be great to see us line up some solid future games beyond this year.
