Dumpster fire, train wreck, f**king mess, etc Congrats to the Title IX Office.....................perhaps we would not need as many of you to serve the University if on the front end of the process Student Orientation would be less general and more specific of how one's actions can lead to serious consequences. Maybe we should work to get a Gold Standard of Student Behavior installed at the U considering we are now attracting GPA's of 3.9 and ACT's of 28.1. Tell the students to #KeepTheirPantsOn.

Dr Chaifetz, Dr Pestello & two Jesuits at VCU game
73Billiken replied to 73Billiken's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Any predictions if Dr Fred will attend the Dayton game tomorrow? -
Dr Chaifetz was in attendance & was fully engaged. Dr Pestello & Mrs Pestello were not in the regular court side seats (maybe attending a Leadership conference) Two Jesuits were sitting in the Pestello seats; perhaps part of the Society of Jesus Rapid Response Team For Failed Leadership. SLU deserves better

There is no need to involve Mrs Pestello. Our beef is with Dr Pestello and his lack of leadership. Stay classy, SLU deserves better.

I am not a Biondi apologist but as a 1973 grad I was there when the campus was, using a now popular term, a 'sh*thole'. Compare that to the campus SLU has today. Reinert was a visionary, Fitzgerald and O'Connell almost drove SLU into the ground. Biondi had a vision of what SLU could be and was a man of action.. In the process, he could have been more collaborative and more inclusive with some of the decision making. Compare that to what we have now.

To all of those that were on the dump Biondi train. this is proof that you should be careful what you wish for. Fr Biondi was not liked because he made hard decisions (not all decisions will please everyone); Dr Pestello is not liked because he can not make hard decisions. It is hard to imagine that there was not a qualified Jesuit available in North America to run the oldest Jesuit university in the US & we got this guy? Saint Louis University deserves better. #FireFred

In any event, if you have not sent Dr P an email each of us should. Make your voices heard.

GDT: SLU v. UMass - Ford's Return

No mention of outcome of S2 on the pre-game show. -
Apparently this Oct 2017 message from Dr Fred does not apply to this situation A Message from the President on Compassion Dear members of the SLU community, As a University that takes pride in our global reach, we are attuned to struggles of those throughout the planet. With a campus in Madrid, and faculty, staff, students, clinicians, and alumni from across the world, wherever violence or tragedy occurs, it always hits close to home. There is not possibly enough space to list all the hurt nor the right words to elicit healing. But here are some thoughts I wish to share with you. In the current ubiquity of tragedy and struggle, we have a shared experience. Our response to this experience shows that we are profoundly connected to each other. The human spirit is resilient, and companionship is enduring. Especially in these moments, we are called to serve and support and to do so with empathy — to identify with the humanity of one another. As some feel hopeless, we exude compassion and suffer with them. From the political tensions and violence in Catalonia to the racial injustices in St. Louis, compassion is needed. From the earthquakes in Mexico to the hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Texas, Florida, and elsewhere, compassion is needed. From the terror attack in Edmonton to the massacre in Las Vegas, compassion is needed. All are invited to take two minutes of silence at noon on Wednesday, October 4. The clock tower will be the central location for those who wish to gather in person. Also at that time, the usual weekday Mass will be offered in the lower chapel of St. Francis Xavier College Church and on the south campus in St. Raphael Chapel (Caroline Building) at 12:05 p.m. Wherever you find yourself at that time, please take a moment to pause — to reflect on the suffering of our neighbors, the legacy of lives that have been lost, and on how we may replenish our wells of compassion so they do not run dry. Sincerely, Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D. President

Just received the copy of Universitas today where SLU was proudly proclaiming that this year's freshman class had an average GPA of 3.9 and an average ACT of 28.1. They need a special class for all of these scholars on How to Keep Your Pants On the for the girls and How to Keep Your Pants On for the boys............apparently the collective genius of SLU students do not understand that. So disappointed.

With the privilege of paying $15 per person, the True Blue Fan Fest may be a great opportunity discuss how this has become a PR disaster with Dr P.....
