  1. Just bought two. Going to give them out to clients and write-em off. Seems like a deal like this is perfect for businesses to purchase to give away to folks. Helps the Billikens with funding, inexpensive give away to clients, and helps pack the house.
  2. My group is going to Fordham this year. Long Presidents' Day weekend helped with that decision.
  3. There's an NCAA mandatory no mascot period?
  4. Paper clips!!!
  5. Aquananne must originally be from Texas, because all of his interest schools are down that direction.
  6. Mashed Potatoes
  7. I'm going to take the Marshawn Lynch approach to this guy.
  8. I have been twice to UD Arena. If you have seats near the court, you have a decent view. I would say that 8,000 of their 13,409 seats have terrible sightlines. It's almost like they plopped half of a football stadium inside of a building. The seats on either side of the court (not the ends) just keep going up and up and up. I would say that they go about 50% or 60% higher up than the seats at Chaifetz do. Every seat at Chaifetz has a good sightline and is near the court. Only so many seats at UD Arena are so situated.
  9. Not true at all. I went there last year for SLU's game against VCU. It is a very nice arena. I like Chaifetz better, but it's not far off.
  10. How the hell are we in a position that we might be having to turn good players down? This is insane. The turnaround that has occurred on the recruiting side is so dramatic that I am having a hard time believing it's true.
  11. When I was going to SLU, I was a homer. I used to give friends that went to lesser schools (USML, Maryville, etc.) trouble about going to a school that was perceived as weaker academically. A friend of mine that went to Wash U. did the same thing to me. Now that I have been out in the working world for awhile, I realize that it really doesn't make any difference. Maybe it helps with your first job. Maybe it gets you a leg up with an interviewer who happens to have gone to SLU, but my experience has been that once you graduate, the school you went to doesn't matter all that much to people doing the hiring. They're much more concerned with your work experience.
  12. Yeah, Gibson could have played in the NBA. Played both baseball and basketball at Creighton. Brian Jordan from the Cardinals in the 90s played football and baseball at Richmond.
  13. I'm also liking the way that Ford is connecting with the new freshmen students. I think his getting involved with the students the way he has will pay dividends in the student section during the season.
  14. Louisville opening up after Pitino leaves would be a much more imminent threat. Like others have said, if he does so well that he leaves, that means we are in much better shape than when he got here.
  15. Just want to the roster page on the website. Here's the breakdown for anyone who cares: St. Louis Area - 8 Foreign Country - 10 US outside of St. Louis Area - 14 Two or three of the St. Louis area kids also seem like they are new to the area from another country.
  16. I find it funny that a program that wouldn't allow a coach to expense buying the team ice cream a few years back is now being accused of dufflebagging $300,000.00 to a recruit. Hey idiot Illini fans, we don't have that kind of program and that kind of jack.
  17. Is this Pelican's parlay? Edit: Sorry, Pelican. We posted at the same time.
  18. I think the job he has done recruiting is incredible for several reasons: 1. Crews left us with a bare cupboard. 2. Recruits have to be looking at the past two years of 11 win seasons and thinking that next season will be the same. Why would they want to join that situation? 3. Ford himself had just been fired. Our program, which had already been a failure for the past two seasons, could be perceived as having just been taken over be a guy coming off of failure at OK St. 4. The program has never really had the best relationship with local coaches and AAU teams. Despite all of the above, he comes in and recruits a nice looking freshman and three transfers. These recruits lead to Ford getting a top 50ish recruit. I'm still having trouble believing it. Thank God that none of the other local teams, Mizzou, Illinois, Carbondale are any good. If we take off in two years, we could make ourselves the predominant program in the region.
  19. We need to get some guys in Billiken costumes to start chasing Tillmon around. It worked for JG.
  20. I was thinking the exact same thing (referring to the Billiken chasing JG dream). I can imagine some song with a lot of base playing and different guys on the team running into the Billiken at different places on campus. The Billiken then chases them toward the Fetz where there's a huge crowd of screaming fans welcoming them.
  21. We are aware of how difficult it is to put everything into a recruit and then lose them to another program (Tatum). Also, we'll stay away from Tilmon when the Illini promise to stay away from every kid we get a commitment from for the next 50 years. Assuming that doesn't happen, the game is the game.
  22. Jordan is exactly what our program needs. I'm not talking about being a top 50 recruit. I'm talking about the player that people say he is. I haven't seen him play, but what I hear is that he has a relentless drive to win which manifests itself in many ways including working to make the players around him better. I hope he ends up being the leader and glue type guy that it appears he could be. Welcome, Jordan!!
