I don't know sh*t about who DaGuys are, but I believe they have a decent YouTube following and sit on the baseline courtside for games.

I had to read this a few times because I did not see DaGuys mentioned anywhere, but a collaboration with DaGuys could be great for everyone involved.

TJ Hargrove is a regular contributor and Gibson Jimmerson is playing on their TBT squad.

And the founders are part of the Bommarito dealership family, hence the courtside seats.

Their first TBT game tips-off on Friday at 5:00 pm by the way.

While I also have no interest in watching Principia, I understand the NET math.

No obligation, but I would love to understand the math involved in scheduling one of the worst programs in college basketball rather than Rockhurst or UMSL or another program that might keep it interesting for a quarter or two.

People are way too low on the amount of minutes Dunlap will get.  Do people really believe he will get the same or less court time than he was getting at St. John's before he got hurt?  He will be in the top 4 in minutes on this team.  I think this is pretty obvious.

Right, is everyone else assuming that he will be limited by injuries?

My favorite SLU road game of all time was in 2003 when SLU with Vedad played at Furman, who happened to have a freshman forward named Clint Dempsey.  SLU won 1-0 in OT.  Crazy that that game would have two freshmen that would go on to become World Cup stars.

Not as crazy, but I believe the same can be said about Brian McBride and maybe Reyna or one of his other USMNT teammates.  I'll have to look.

No I mean he transferred from SLU…unless I’m slipping

My apologies for the confusion, I was referring to the Embry Riddle transfer.

    1) Jeremi has moved on to professional soccer. But yes he moved up divisions (or program levels) as happens way more often with International players.

    @WUH

    Thanks for the clarification.

He is on the www.slubillikens.com roster when other May graduates have been removed, but I understand that those can be a work in progress.

Do you have any early insight on the GK position @courtside?

  6. The roster lists Jeremi Abonnel.  I thought he had exhausted his eligibility, but I guess not.

SLU added 3 transfers mid semester. They uniquely lost 1 of them after the Spring season. (Transferred to a Fall opponent which will be fun). And they added 2 Spring May transfers as well as an International player.

If I had transferred to St. Louis in January, I might want to move back to Florida too.

Sharma not at all afraid to shoot. Shot selection may be something to keep an eye on with him in real games.

Could be imagining it but Robbie looks to be a bit leaner.

Not surprisingly Laczkowski, Kerr, and Diakite all need a lot of time in the weight room.  As all freshman bigs do.

    Laczkowski is a guard.

Pretty much.  St. Louis style typically is known for the sauce, but also our distinct cuts of meat like st. louis style ribs and pork steaks, and St. Louis style BBQ is almost never smoked, the meat is cooked much quicker.

Right, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Because she didn't get into ANY games, she should still have 3 years of eligibility left. There is no paperwork to fill out, no appeal to be made, no announcement needs to be made. It's automatic.

    This is correct.

Marilena Trinatifyli will have three years of eligibility left if she chooses to use it.

What exactly is historic about those buildings? No one has mentioned anything other than they are old. Being old doesn’t make something historic, it just makes it old.

    You should read the story.

The author suggests that the buildings were on the periphery of a predominantly Black neighborhood, but not much more.  Maybe the Kranzberg Foundation knows more and hence the purchase.

I say that I favor it in general because SLU almost demolished the Cupples House and that would have been a mistake.

I imagine that everyone is going to be happy to have the buildings redeveloped, but no one would have missed them otherwise.

As @Box and Won said, SLU tried to have the buildings demolished. It's relevant to the story. If SLU can dish it out, SLU can take it.

I support the preservation of historic buildings generally, but this makes the decision by SLU to buy and eventually to demolish the buildings seem to be more than simple land and resource management, but maybe you have insider information.

It was a shot at SLU.  Journalists do this all the time.  They will use someone else's words to convey a message that the journalist wants to make so that they can say that were just reporting facts.  This was an article about a new business going into a building and the writer of the article interjected someone else's quote to make the point the writer wanted to make.  Whether we agree or disagree about the sentiment, or not, it was an intentional shot at SLU by the writer.

I didn't see that as a "shot at SLU" as much as reporting what preservationists were saying about SLU. Their quotes and impressions about SLU are pretty fair, given the history of its expansion in Midtown. Like it or not, SLU did get rid of a significant residential neighborhood. Since then, the school has torn down a lot of buildings for surface parking lots that go mostly unused. There's nothing even remotely out of bounds said about SLU in this brief article.

I hear you but to be clear, I did not describe the article as out of bounds.

    SLU is not beyond reproach.

But there was really no reason to mention that SLU had owned those buildings in a story about a restaurant opening and hence the suggestion that Sarah Fenske took a shot at SLU.

And she failed to establish that those building were historic and worth preserving other than suggesting that they were around as part of a neighborhood.
