  1. They're not getting thrown around like rag dolls. You want to see players move around like that look to the NBA. In college, it's not uncommon for nonathletes to transfer out in the first couple of years. Maybe the school was too expensive, they want to be closer to home, want to go to a smaller school or a bigger school. Similar situations with athletes. Why is so much emphasis being placed on it when it's common in people who don't play sports?
  2. 2 things: 1) The costs of a coach keep going up and up. It's a bubble will pop in a short matter of time. 2) All the Tigger fans think MA will stay b/c of the team he has/coming in. We'll see, but money talks.
  3. Anderson already said no. I also don't think they'd go after Porter. IF Anderson did go and they did hire Porter I bet we could finally get our series with Mizzou
  4. http://www.caahoops.com/2010/04/the-future...-3-realignment/ I know we are all tired of talking about the possibility of conference realignment until it actually happens. I found this interesting article about the possibility of the CAA expanding several teams, which includes taking Charlotte and Richmond from the A-10... Really have to wonder where we will fall when all this goes down.
  5. Maybe RL will be our Gordon Hayward...
  6. Again not coincidence that the teams that win big are experience laden. Talent alone can only get you so far.
  7. +1 That's really what needs to be done.
  8. If any of you have the ESPNInsider, there's a good article by Lunardi about the remaining logistics questions about the tourney. He's not in favor of that either. Closing line of the article: "Just don't give me an NCAA tournament with 25 ACC and Big East teams"
  9. In the 96 team bracket we're a 20 seed...
  10. I remember him in an interview somewhere saying they were bringing a guy in to walk on.
  11. Bad games happen. I don't understand the 'sky is falling' mentality some appear to have. It's foolish to look at 1 game and say 'he sucks'. Willie had bad games this year. If you watched one of those games, Willie would look bad. But if you watch the season and how he does you see his NBA potential. Same can be said for Loe. Overall internationally he's played very well.

  13. Please God... Since expansion 'has' to happen, let ESPN get the broadcast rights... CBS in 20+ years has had no idea what they're doing...
  14. That's what worries me about Porter. He's been a coach before and he couldn't cut it. Don't forget the reason we have him was because he got fired. I also don't necessarily buy into the "he has all these years under Majerus now, so he'll be better" argument. The games the past couple of years where Porter coached with RM out, we lost I believe. He can recruit. His team the year after he left almost won the MVC tourney. He's nice guy for sure, but can he coach?
  15. This is true. Xavier's an interesting case study. They have a great coaching lineage. Their success is not a coincidence with the coaches they've had over the years. That being said, it doesn't and won't work everywhere. When RM hangs things up, should Porter be considered, yes. Should he be given preference over other people? I don't think so. We need to see what other coaches are available. It'd be foolish not too.
  16. They also have longer time outs and half times. That's a big factor with fatigue.
  17. Take a look at Butlers record and coaches they had for the past 10 years or so. They've had solid teams and coaches. Barry Collier, Thad Matta, Todd Lickliter. Stevens is a hell of a coach, which is saying something considering his age and experience. They've been building towards this for 10 years or so. This appearance should surprise no one.
  18. Probably won't have to do it this year. UK could have as few as 4 players coming back with everyone else graduating or at least testing the pro waters. My friend who's a UK fan said he expects all of the players to stay in. Wall, Cousins, and Patterson are all gone for sure. Dodson (reportedly failed a drug test) will either going to the draft or transfering. Orton has dropped out of school to prepare for the draft. That roster turnover is just ridiculous. It's impossible to build a team when over 75% of your roster is just gone every year. It's not coincidence most teams that win big are junior/senior laden teams.
  19. Last I read they wanted to go to at least 12, but weren't ruling out up to 16, which would be ridiculous.
  20. I'd love to see SLU invest in some quality sports facilities for some of the other sports. It would be a good investment on SLUs part. The track is a joke. I don't know you can actually call that a track... The other sports deserve some on campus facilities. If SLU is serious about athletics, and positioning itself favorably if/when conference realignment happens, they need to act on this soon. On the other hand, SLU also needs to either invest in new housing since they won't reduce the amount of students admitted. So which one will it be SLU? One, both, neither?
  21. Wouldn't be too surprised if JJ were to leave. McCall will be a better player coming in and even after KM graduates, McCall will get the reins on the team, not JJ. And like you said, he might be too small to get meaningful minutes.
  22. I don't think they sold it to SLU. A deal was reached so SLU would be able to offer it as 'on campus' housing, but SLU doesn't own it.
