R.J. Jones released his top 6 last week and it didn't include SLU. Committed to K-State this evening.

Wow. It is always such a gut punch for recruits when they report to campus and realize there is more than one Manhattan.

Beyond what has already been written. Nick Kramer’s shot is beautiful. Not saying it’s better or ever will be better, but just from a technical standpoint it’s prettier than GJim. Perfect arch and rotation and hands finish textbook. He was nailing them in the warm ups but struggled making them during the scrimmages

I believe you meant: “Hands [a] Finnish textbook.”

I hate to be that guy but is anyone else still feeling a little salty about the Yuri Collins saga?  I know he came back but when I see him I just don't feel warm and fuzzy inside anymore........It seems more like hiring a disinterested one year free agent in baseball.  I know I have to get over it if I'm ever going to enjoy NCAA basketball again but it sticks in my craw none the less.....

No one knows if he was given anything to stay. We do not know if the offer just got pulled by T. I assume at least that he took a pay cut to stay here. That wasn’t enough for Pujols, so Yuri>Pujols, and since we love Pujols now, Yuri is guaranteed to come back to your love circle someday.

This is unsatisfactory.  If I was there I would have been able to tell you exactly who was starting and players 6-9 coming off the bench.

This is such a dreadful performance by the MBMs.  Someone better say something valuable or give a full report soon or it is safe to say this board has lost its fastball.

It’s clear from this video that no one missed a shot the entire open practice.

Agreed. There are plenty of blue teams but only ONE Billiken team.

Big Blue works for Kentucky. I am not sure why we are questioning the logic of the best recruiter in school history. But sure, you guys probably know what you are talking about. :)

🙄  hate it.  another opportunity for the rich to distance themselves from the rest by encouraging stealing of talent.

I don’t see this affecting anything. The Rashad Williams of the world can breathe a sigh of relief. That is probably a good thing.

  7. It is sad that Netflix is looking to have an Ad supported business, and has seemingly unlimited funds, and the Pac12, B12, and ACC could be blown up and turned into a new conference with a new media deal, and it seems like nothing is connecting these dots together.

edit: The above says that it is sad Netflix isn’t doing this.

The other way to look at it is that 1 game drew 18.1 million viewers, but 291 million people total viewed those 32 games.

I read somewhere that the first round was 3 million people per game. So, the first round is 96 Million. Even if half the viewers watched all of the games, that is nearly 50 million.

As to the greater issue, if the blue bloods and P5 want to start a separate tournament with just those big conferences, then ok, I won’t watch it. I doubt anyone who went to a smaller program will. That is a massive amount of the population. It could backfire on them. If the other 200 programs kept the Tournament, it could easily become the thing that takes center stage every year, and the tables could completely turn on the big programs. We will see.

Jones had more per 40 minutes. Fred had 2.6 Jones had 3.6.  Jones also had 1.7 TO per game to Freds 2.2

Tip of the hat to Fred, he has done a great job of what he was asked to do, doesn't mean its what he should continue doing unless needed.

It is a great stat and it can tell a lot, but it can also be misleading. Per 40, Jones would have been roasted in D. He also struggled to drive on people in the A10. Turnovers could have become an issue. Good teams would have keyed on it and it might have hurt his linear output. Greater shooter, so he had that as a major upside.

Thatch as a point guard is a lot like Goodwin, just not as polished. Good at driving and putting his defender on the defensive and making a pass to a designated big guy, or a basic kick out. He also has that pseudo point-forward that Goodwin brought. He needs other ball handlers around him to help, but I think he showed enough last year that TF will try to build upon it.

Thatch will attempt to do anything we ask of him. But asking him to play point guard plays into his weaknesses.  Average ball handler, average passer.

Second on the team in Assists per game. What?

but why, that's not really his position?

He was the best backup PG during the second half of this past season. It especially showed during the last game when Yuri was out. If you define PG as the person who sets up a play and works to get someone a good shot. Thatch struggles against tough defense getting the ball up the court, but that is the same as almost everyone on the roster.

Expecting top 150 recruits to sit for a year behind 30 minute a game starters isn't a reasonable expectation in my opinion.  We get that caliber player when seniors graduate, i.e the 2023 class.

That is exactly what a 3 star recruit would want us to believe.
