Well, there is no denying that this season’s end has been painful. The NCAA tournament is dead to me this year. I haven’t looked at the bracket, and I probably won’t unless we get called up. I hope for the best to SBU and VCU, but otherwise, I say meh. Feel free to organize a boycott on your own time. That said, pain is just a part of the journey in life, and it is time to turn the page. Onto the NIT! I am not sure why, but I am feeling fired up about this tournament. Part of it is that I really believe we can win it, but the other part is that I still want to see this team play. I want to see them recapture their early season form. I want them to hang a banner on the Chaifetz ceiling, and I want some token that this group can stamp into the history books. Cue the Pitbull.

You bring up a great point. Think about how stupid the MVC is, and has been, for the last ~20 years. It seems so obvious that being a week early to the tournament ruins your visibility. Now we have proof of it.

This is the first thing I thought of. A fun reunion tour. I am excited about this tournament. I hope the Bills come back together and win this thing.

Considering Bismack Byombo was the 7th pick of a draft, primarily based in his 7’7” wingspan, you would think that someone might take Ossuniyi in the first or second round with a 7’8” wingspan. I think the later is a better player as of the time of drafting.

The A10 is a 3 bid conference year in and year out. The programs have that kind of talent and the conference deserves that respect. The committee should make that happen. The MVC is a 1 bid conference. What is frustrating is that bid stealing is allowed. They should establish the number of teams a conference, big or small, gets in, and then boot the lowest team in that conference if a new team wins their tournament. For example, UCLA should be out now and UCONN as well.

I have no idea what team you watched. They are junk. They just make the game ugly enough so that it is a toss up, and the refs did their best to help them.

I hope the committee sees that play and call. Three refs look at a monitor and reverse the foul call? Everyone, announcers included, were expecting it to be elevated to flagrant. What a joke.

It is amazing how they get away with having their students make toothpaste as part of their student college extracurricular experience. That is a professional company!!!!

I know there was an injury to Yuri, but Ford played Russell more than Strickland the second half of the season. Do you think Strickland deserves to stay? Make some sense of where Russell is at in the program? Frankly, I would take Russell over Lorentson. I don’t see the big Swede getting PT next year, maybe never.

This is a weird thread, by a weird poster. The lead argument is that we had a great non-conference which ended with us ranked. A 30+ day Covid pause, followed by two losses, one of which was to a rival, the other on the road. Take either loss away and we are in. We finished the year playing tournament level basketball. No other bubble team has a good excuse for being on the bubble beside simply playing bad, or not trying to find tough competition. Certainly, no one has a more compelling case than SLU.

It should be a no brained to play a game. Only because other teams might play and thereby bump us. It is tournament time, you can’t get tight and try to play small ball. Cant hold anything back.

NOTE TO THE COMMITTEE: we have already hit herd immunity. No worries about us dropping out, or causing a Covid outbreak.
