  1. Audio from this interview is now posted on Frank's page at KFNS.com
  2. Yeah, it gets dicey if you throw Dayton into the mix.
  3. Absolutely true on both counts. And both losses are easier to bare if we beat Charlotte and GW. If we beat Xavier on top of that, we are #1 in the A10. Incredible. It's wroth noting, that SLU still has a good chance at the bye; if Charlotte loses to Richmond (regardless of what SLU does), SLU will lock the fourth seed in the tournament. Of course, there are a bunch of screwy situations, which I'm sure TT will blog about tomorrow, but there's still a good chance of a great seeding in the A10 tourney.
  4. If we have a loss like this next year, I will be legitimately frustrated and disappointed. This year, I'm proud that we led Temple for most of the first half and hung tough with them to the very end. Temple's largest lead, I believe, was in the last 2 minutes of the game. That's something this team can be very proud of; we gave a #16 team a big run for their money. I know Fran was very impressed with what he saw. I know almost doesn't get you anywhere, but we are yet to be humiliated by the best teams in our league (minus that Richmond conflab)... you can see that we are almost there.
  5. The team is obviously physically worn out. IMO if you don't get an NIT invite, you don't go to the post-season. Personally, and I'm just as guilty, this team is young and wasn't supposed to be a .500 club. We have surpassed that beyond the A10's wildest dreams, and still have a legitimate chance at a good run in the A10 tournament. Honestly, the plate was very full for the Billikens, and they've done about as good as we could have hoped (minus actually winning).
  6. The Championship game is on CBS, I think tip-off is at noon, as part of their Selection Sunday coverage.
  7. USA Today basically said the same thing in the paper today. Listed it as one of the "Games to Watch."
  8. Candidate means Rice is interested in hiring him, right? Not that he's actually interested in the job..
  9. His coach was shaking Majerus' hand when this happened. I'd be furious at my player for doing that, but I guess I can see he was just having fun or whatever, but yeah, I thought it was classless.
  10. A shame yes, but this helps SLU by getting pressure off from behind us. Now, if only Charlotte could lose out... Probably unlikely (with GW, URI, and Richmond on tap), but hey, if they could lose to Richmond and we win out, or at least win DQ and Temple, maybe we could get that fourth spot.
  11. Big game this evening. Line is SLU by 4.0. Probably will be higher than that... we're at home, and we need this one.
  12. Femi told me before the game that he thinks he's done for the year. Said he was going to opt for surgery so that he can rehab during the spring and be ready for summer camp and next season.
  13. I did, at one point, wonder if the A10 told the refs to call against us because SLU is/was ruining the A10-NCAA parade. But, I then realized that, even if that was the case, we should have been able to win this game anyway, so it doesn't matter.
  14. We also have the #1 three-point defense in the nation, and you only took 11 shots, six of them by the same guy. SLU was clearly better from outside the arc. No, SLU fans can not and should not blame the officials; as Majerus pointed out, a few more block outs (wow rebounding went downhill), free throws, or a few less empty possessions and SLU takes the ball game. The thing, though, is that SLU is this good - this year. If I was Xavier, I'd be nervous about next year..
  15. SOOOOO PUMPED FOR TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fans raising the roof at SLU Billikens' new home by: Tom Timmerman http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...FB?OpenDocument
  16. Athletics is predicting 1,200+ students. I think that's a hopeful prediction, but if there was a game that would draw that, it's this one. And, I would expect that if we win against XU and Dookain, then we might get 1,600 for the Temple game.
  17. Tournaments are a blast, but so is intrigue just ahead by: Bryan Burwell .... http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...51?OpenDocument I snipped the Billikens portion. He also talks about Mizzou and briefly about Illinois.
  18. Tape delay on FSN Midwest. I was hoping ESPN would pick it up.
  19. Yeah, false alarm. The webmasters tagged SLU, so I thought there was a discussion, but it was only a mere mention. In other news, ESPN has a "Magic Wall."
  20. We have... Xavier Duquesne Temple Dayton I really have no idea how to call this. I think we get two wins, Duquesne and Dayton, and I guess I'll say we'll take Temple.. I'm not sure about Xavier. I agree that this is a different team from even a few weeks ago, but I just don't know how this one plays out. As a side note, Real Time RPI thinks we go 1-3. They call for a win against Duquesne but none of the others. Interestingly, they have a 4 point spread on Xavier but only a 1 point spread on Temple. The widest of the three loses is by 12 to Dayton. I don't agree with that spread, but the others, I feel, are pretty accurate and put the games within our grasp. So, final prediction is 3-1. It is also possible that we win our three homers and lose at Dayton; I could see that happening. Thoughts?
  21. SLU mention in ESPN.com video here: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?i...e=ESPNHeadlines
  22. Has Gametracker froze for the rest of you? It hasn't updated past Kwam's three at the beginning of the half...
