  1. It was a good job. But..........I took my buddy and his 6 year old son who got one. We left his 3 year old daughter at home and tried to get one for her and got shot down.\ Not complaining because I thought it was a good idea, just wish we could of got another
  2. agree but I would imagine not many UMKC students are from STL unlike SWMO, UMKC students probably dont live in STL If they were they would probably go to UMSL. I thought you guys did a good job considering the circumstances: Xmas break, a nobody apponent, Tuesday night. I respect what you do. You give it your all in a tough situation. Just bring the heat come conference play.
  3. I was thinking he was more of the rebounding machine Horrace Mitchell
  4. Ive never heard of people tailgating before a basketball game. These people arent getting ready for a noon kickoff. The games are usually at 7. That means people finsish work/school/family business and go to the gane. This is baseketball tailgatting is done at the bars around campus. If you go into campus bars you will find a lot of people having a few beers before the game. I do agree alcohol is a drawing factor. Thats why Im suprised more students dont go. Most college arenas/stadiums do not allow alcohol to be sold durring school events. SLU is in the minority here. I would think this would entice some students to come to the games. Instead of sitting in a dorm or buddies appartment drinking before going out it gives students the oppurtunity to do it at the game
  5. agree that is a stupid statement. And whats wrong with Wash U students? There mens and womens sports draw great crowds. Sounds like you are just assume that because these kids are smart they are "nerds" Sounds like you are stuck in the 60's. Are kids with classes nerds? What about kids who like to read?
  6. Id look into it if I were you. Most school usually have a IFC counsell or something like that. Its a meeting with representitives of all the frats and a faculty advisor. Try and talk to the faculty member who runs the meetings and see if you or someone else involved with the blue crew can have a few minutes at a meeting. When I was at SEMO this is when other student orginizations would come and ask for support from the greek system. Im sure the school would be all for it because they know the advantages of having a full student section. It may only work for a few games but the extra attendance would probably help bring back the occasional supporter. If the student section fills up for a couple a games word may spread that its a good place to hang out with fellow students. I think that if the student section fills up a few games in a row the people will keep coming back. Even non sports lovers will feel the excitment in sharring a common intrest with 100's of their fellow classmates and hopefully keep coming back. Possibly check with the bars around campus. See if you can arrange special happy hours for students who have ticket stubs. SLU is working against a lot of years of non-student support but it wont take much to get them coming back
  7. I think this would be a demographic to start with. I went to SEMO from 98-02 and greek life is what made up the studnent section there were only 6 frats on campus but I would bet they would bring atleast 200-300 people to the games. If you can convince 1 or 2 guys in one frat to go to the game they woudl bring 30 more guys. If you could get a second frat that would be another 30 or so. Plus if the guys are going their groupy gals will follow along and that could lead to 30 more women. And I doubt any fraternity on campus has frat activities planned on a friday or saturday night. Those night of the week are reserved to party.
  8. Its amazing to me why more students dont go to the games. College kids dont go out untill 10-11 PM anyway so what is the reason for not going? I get it college kids like to "pre-party" before going out to the bars but could'nt the students acomplish the same thing at the game. I understand that a lot of college kids like to have a few drinks before going to parties but couldnt that be done at the game? To me going to the game before going to the bars or parties would be the perfect way to start the evening. You can show up, have a few drinks, make plans with fellow students for after the game, watch some good basketball, and still have the entire night ahead of you. I just dont understand it! A question for the students who do go....whats the deal? Is it not the "cool" thing to do?" Are there crazy parties going on at 7PM? Is it to expensive? Whats the problem? And I hope that I never see anybody compaling about all the old people at the games on here anymore because without the old people tonight would of been 70 % MSU fans For the record I dont consider myself one of the old fans im 30.
  9. How did that happen? Did they have tickets in other parts of the arena and just come down?
  10. This kind. Here is his qoute from Bernies Pressbox
  11. I noticed that too. The first elbowing foul on COnklin was a joke. The guy went to the ground like he had been shot. And Conklin had never even hit him. Now he has to be careful throwing elbows like he does but that first call was a joke. After that conklin was pretty mad and voicing his displeasure with the refs. Thats the first time the refs called him over. IMO at that point the refs labled him and were going to call anything around him on him.
  12. No real reason just a gut feeling. Im pretty sure at least one guy wont be back and he would seem like the one to go. He wasnt getting any playing time at the beginning of the year befor the problems. I just dont see all the guys coming back and he's the only guy I wouldnt be suprised to see leave
  13. Just a quick update. Vaughn was at the game again tonight with what looked like his son. So he was there as a fan again and not as a media member. Also say Brian Burwell at the press table and he seemed to be taking notes so I wouldnt not be suprised if he has an article about the Bills in the coming days
  14. I would imagine it wont be a problem. I dont see reid coming back and I will be shocked if Eckerle comes back on scholarship next year.
  15. horrible game at the end by the refs. Belmont players were flopping around like soccer players. Conklin's T could of been costly but if the refs would of called the game correctly it would of never came to that. Mitchell looked pretty dazed being led off the court. At first I thought it was the nose but after seeing him stagger to the locker room I thought possibly a concussion. On the was home Ramsey said he was poked in the eye. So I guess an eye poke is probably better news than a concusion or broken nose. Seeing the Bills strugle with the press at the end shows how much they need him.
  16. The points they put up may seem low at times but its not because of the offense they run. They always seem to have open looks and that all you can really ask for. At times the shooters have gone cold and you really cant do to much about that. The only part of the offense I want to see them improve is free throw shooting. That to me has been the biggest offensive disappointment and something they really need to work on. The offesne they run eats up a lot of clock and they deffense they play eats up a lot of clock at the other end. When the shots are falling the offense looks great but they still wont be putting up scores in the 90's. This is a deffensive team that stresses good shots as long as they get good looks im happy with the offense
  17. Having other threads regarding Ellis is not why you are getting "flamed." It because you have a shirtless picture of yourself, you posted your body fat percentage, and you talked about being an MMA trainer. All of these things point to you being a giant ****** bag. By the way Im 6 foot 180 and have no idea what my body fat percentage is. Plus my wiffleball team recently took second place in the STL wiffle up tourney. You can go ahead and be jealous of me now.
  18. was the source your personal trainer? And "mess with the bull and you get the horns" seriously??? Wow you are quite the ******!
  19. I think it went like this K Slaten "you recently did a study on college refs what did you find out" Zetcher "well Kevin we foun....." K Slaten "Turn himd donw. You are such an idiot the refs suck and the players are all thugs" Zethcer "well kevin thats why Kslaten "turn him down. I cant believe you clowns dont think Kurt warner is the greatest thing ever" Zethcer "Kevin thats not what we are talking about" K Slaten "turn him down. SLU and Mizzou both lied to my family about giving my son a scholorship. Why dont you do something about that" Zethcer"Kevin I have no idea what you are talking about" K SLaten "thats probably because you are stupid. I bet you like LaRussa too dont you? What Ive learned from you today is that basketball is filled with thugs, the refs suck, SLU and Mizzou screwed over my son, Larussa is the dumbest person alive, maybe he should be a ref, and Warner is still the greatest thing since the wheel. God Im so happy I am the greatest and all you people suck. Thanks for listening love ya mom love ya dad"
  20. I was going to guess Eric Bickel
  21. Its amazing how much bigger and stronger those two looked than WR. If Reed can fill out that frame by his senior year he will be a beast. But right now he would get destroyed in the NBA. He's lucky to make it to the first TV timeout without getting winded. Imagine all 75 lbs of him trying to go against full grown men on a nightly basis. He wouldnt make it to the all-star break. Luckily he is still young and in the next couple of years it should get eaiser for him to put on weight. And comparing anybody on this team to Anthony Bonner does a cmplete disservice to one of the top 3 Bills of all-time. One day these guys MAY be mentioned in the same breath as AB but not 6 games into season number 2
