  1. Same goes for KC. I would prefer to see KC coming off the bench. Provide a spark and play good "D"
  2. What I think: KM MM DE CE WR What Majerus will do: KM KC DE CE WR I think RL might edge out CE. All depends on who is playing better defense.
  3. Big East will have 17 B-Ball schools with the addition of TCU next year. They need to add 3 more football teams to get to 12 football teams in order to hold a post season playoff. Would they accept a 20 team B-Ball league? Or will they look to dis-invite 4 non-football schools to pare back to 16 teams. This could free up Marquette, Depaul, Providence and one other non-football school. If Marquette and Depaul are available, Dayton, Xavier, SLU could join together for a solid core for a new conference. Perhaps they pull in Butler and look to the MVC to pick up Creighton and Bradley. And then look to add the Zags and the Gaels (kidding about this last part).
  4. fug - at least cover the friggin number.........and no I did not bet on SLU. Just grasping for anything.
  5. Miserable end to a miserable year. I only hope the outlook for next year remains strong. Somehow I think the off-season might not bring all good news. Is WR back? Any defections? And just how will season ticket sales look for next year?
  6. KC would be better served coming off the bench and maybe averaging 15-20 minutes a game. His minutes are destined to go down next year with the return of KM and JB, and hopefully, continued improved play from DE, MM and JJ.
  7. 87 - PPG Billikens will average next year. Awesome!
  8. I would have liked to have seen DE on the floor in the last 2 minutes. He has a terrific nose for the ball. With the way we were shooting last night our only chance at the end was to get an offensive rebound and put-back. Ellis and Loe will come around eventually. Hopefully Salecich can build on his recent shooting improvements and grab more minutes if he can continue. His defense and ball-handling are solid. Just trying to find anyone that can make a 3. 4-22 is pathetic.
  9. Majerus has always maintained that he defers to the player on whether to redshirt. So either a) Majerus does not know KM's intentions (seems unlikely); b)KM has not made his intentions known (also seems unlikely); or c) KM has said he wants to play. Majerus may be doing his best to influence KM's decision but my total wild-ass guess is that KM has told Majerus he wants to play this year.
  10. He needs to protect his sources. Otherwise his sources may have to work the concession stands at the HS games rather than tweet recruiting updates.
  11. Would prefer he redshirt. But by 2012-13 I would hope someone could develop as a point guard. McCall anyone.
  12. Last off season when we were all talking about the Bills being on the verge of a tourney berth in 2011 we just didn't know it was the A-10 tourney we should have been referencing. If WR can get the academics right maybe this off season we can again talk about making the tourney next year. Now, I hope the AD needs to throw all their support behind WR in getting him academically eligible. Maybe have Eck take his tests.
  13. I don't know what color the sky is in your world. But in the world as I know it, every D1 school is making accommodations when it comes to admitting athletes. For example, just how many kids on the Duke team would have been admitted under normal admissions procedures? Georgetown is another fine institution from which Patrick Ewing received his degree, albeit belatedly. What happens to Patrick Ewing or countless other kids if they aren't given a chance to play D1 basketball. Surely you must realize there are different academic standards for athlete and non-athlete. And I am not sure why any of us should take issue with that given the value these athletes can bring to their universities. Surely more than a business school alum that drops $500 to school each year. Money that I could have spent on recreational drugs........
  14. Bluesman look around. DO you want a D1 program or not? Every D1 program, whether you believe it or not, makes concessions and accommodations for athletes. It has something to do with $$$$$. Even Stanford, Notre Dame, Duke, and countless others find value in a strong athletic program. They provide scholarships, tutors, and other support for athletes solely because of what these athletes can do with a football, basketball, etc. So get real. Most of us are on this board want to see an NCAA-tourney quality team. tt
  15. 3Jack - You don't build a solid foundation on three recruiting classes - not at school like SLU. Majerus has not even had a chance to coach a group of his seniors. Notre Dame, Xavier and others mentioned have had strong programs for several years. The best hope for this program is that Majerus comes back healthy very soon and KM and WR as well, so we can try to reestablish the momentum we were feeling last year. Would love to have this same conversation after (and if) Majerus has recruited 7 or 8 classes and has coached several senior classes. If Majerus leaves I feel this program is bound to take a huge step backwards. I just hope we can someday get to a point where we a have a successful coaching carousel like the one at Xavier.
  16. Dude. You must be really old. Please use present day analogies.
  17. Good one Torch. Now is it "u" before "e" or after........
  18. I'm going with Fordham. If not then, I'm guessing Chicago State.
  19. He was there for the whole first half. Then, in single file, with Fetz in the lead they returned with about 10 minutes to go in the 2nd half. I think he was late in returning as they were rehearsing their re-entry. It was wonderfully choreographed. Put the dance team to shame. I'm so pissed about the Bills right now I'm taking shots at their biggest benefactor (nice picture outside section 104-204). Last year I really enjoyed it when Fetz did his best Jack Nicholson impression and paced the sidelines with nervous energy. Someone get the man some shades. This year I think he is on Valium. And the rest of the season ticket holders should join him.
  20. With Willie and Kwamain likely redshirting perhaps Majerus should do the same. Ole Dukie boy pulled the bad back routine when he saw his team was in for a lean year and he proceeded to take the year off. With Majerus out Moser would have a chance to show his worth. And Majerus could get the mental/physical break he so obviously needs. Would be like hitting the redo button on 2010 if WR and KM are back. Of course Biondi might have something to say about the $$$.
  21. I have season tickets as well and have yet to attend a game. I will go to the Dayton game but not really looking forward to it. What a horrible year.
  22. Castlewood Cup is a walk in the park (pun intended) compared to the Pere Marquette Run. Real good muck this morning - it appeared several people took headers. A fun run.
  23. You can say that again.....oh, you did......
