With as much as Ford talks about the team wanting to run, it is quite a contrast when we play a team that actually does.

I was actually happy for Fordham. Not that I didn't want the Bills to win but that team and fanbase deserve a reward for that effort.

Praying for fouls that aren't going to come. Not the best strategy.

This does potentially affect the Billikens if BSMW is no longer in a position to produce the 10 or so games a year they do now. The A10 may have a deal to stream games on ESPN+ but only if they are being produced already. It will be one thing if some hedge fund steps in to buy the assets and keep running them. Or even if the Cardinals themselves buy BSMW and run it independently. In both scenarios they would still need the content the Bills provide to round out offerings. But in a world where the Cardinals and Blues go to direct streaming (STL City SC will already be streaming exclusively on AppleTV), there may not be a BSMW. And SLU may need to find new partners to actually do the production.

There was some research done a few years back that concluded the biggest factor in home-court advantage was the crowd influencing the officials. The idea being that the reason there seems to be a greater impact in basketball and baseball than say hockey or soccer is there are more potential judgement calls made by the refs/umps throughout the contest.

You can't blame him for being shocked when something he's been doing the whole game with no problem is suddenly called a foul.

That's a real shame. I had gotten the impression Fred wasn't planning on coming back next year either way. But no doubt not how he'd preferred to have things end. But as others have said, there is no doubt he will be successful at whatever come next. Best of luck to Fred in all future endeavors.

If offering a kid because he is local over someone likely to be better is what you mean, then sure we shouldn't be doing that. But to fair I don't think we've been given any reason to believe Ford has done that.

Ford would have tried to put his own stamp on the team and messed things up. Say what you want about Crews, but he had the sense to see that the sons of Majerus were coaching themselves and stayed out of their way.

Turns out those excuses just delayed things getting to the point where what needs to happen became obvious.

Ugly game, more bad coaching, St Joe's is awful and this team is still a complete mess...... but a road win in conference is still a road win in conference. Bravo.

CM is a good fundraiser. Doesn't make him a great AD in all areas. TF is a great recruiter. Doesn't make him a great coach in all areas.

I suspect he is busy making calls about potential new head coaches. Reminds me of when Majerus stated bluntly that the SLU athletic program (paraphrasing) 'didn't know how to be winners'.
