to me i think its a mistake. I measured Brett myself when he was between his Jr and Sr year with his shoes off with a tape measurer and he was just over 6'11". Ive been measured many times with my shoes off by doctors and Im 6'8". Brians is just as tall as me. I dont know if this was done on purpose so that people would underestimate them...a 7' kid just sounds much scarier than a 6'10" kid. Or maybe they were just off...either way it doesnt change the talent we have.

Yeah hes fine. A little disappointed about the minutes, but what basketball player who loves the game wouldnt be. Thanks for mentioning the student part of the equation. How easily we all forget the amazing education these kids are getting...for free. No way our family could come close to affording the tuition at SLU. Hell be getting the best education by far out of everyone in our entire family. Hes a lucky kid for getting this talent and body given to him. Hopefully he uses it to finish school and get a good job.

I dont understand how I could make this any clearer. Im not complaining about Bretts playing time. Im not questioning RM. I dont want to know about the big picture. Im asking anyone who watched this one game, Depaul, if there was anything anyone saw specific to that one game that caused Brett to get only 8 min. If you look back at the way RM used Brett in the past its been very little minutes against the smaller athletic guys and a bit more against the bigger guys. I now know the answer to my question by talking to my brother some more about the game. Their big guy was not only Bretts size but also very quick and athletic...thats all I needed to hear. Also I really dont mind the posters who get on and just talk ######. All it really does is show their stupidity. Im intellegent enough to know Bretts not the best frosh on the team. Right now you could even say hes the worst. Playing at Vienna really put him behind everyone else both athletically and skill wise but hes got the potential to be great. I know RM is the best big man coach in the nation. I know he knows what hes doing. I had no idea my thread would get out of hand like this...lol crazy people

Not to be disrespectful to anyone who posted but Im not sure any of you answered my question. I already know why hes getting less minutes each game...most of the people hes been playing against are too fast and too athletic for him to gaurd. We all know Bretts too slow, not in good enough shape, and not athletic enough. My question was this, of those of you who watched the Depaul game, why didnt Brett get more than 8 min against 3 guys 6 10 260 and better. Barry and Conk cant gaurd guys like that because they have four inches on them. Willie cant gaurd them because they out weigh him by about 40 to 50 lbs. So people who watched the game, what did you see out of Brett or the other post players that warrented him getting 8 and them getting 20-30? I know thats about what Willie and Conk got not sure how many min Barry got though. I guess unless the answer is hes too slow and out of shape but that still, to me, doesnt explain only 8 min. Look at all the other games SLUs played against guys Bretts size and hes gotten much much more playing time. Also to me, hes been looking better each game. He needs to build confidence in himself. I think playing him in a game where he could have gotten more playing time and contributed to the team in a positive way only 8 minutes does nothing for him but hurt his confidence.

Anybody who watched the game against Depaul have any idea why our 6 10 260 lbs center only played 8 minutes against guys his size? I know Im his brother but to me that makes absolutely no sense...he needs to develop and playing only 8 minutes a game isnt going to help. I understand in certain games he sits when he cant match up but in this one I dont get it...Hes by far the best post defender on the team. Anyone else have something to add?

I know everyone has their head up Willies butt, but have any one of you guys watched him play defense, or box out, or even try and post up. He does none of these well yet. I really like the kid and hes got a lot of energy plus hes athletic as hell, but he doesn't do the little things yet and I dont like that. Id say Brian and Mitchell both player pretty well. Willie needs to get stronger and start boxing out. Brett and Kyle need to get more athletic.

He did...really needs to get in better shape and get some confidence in himself and he will be a beast...if only he would have played against ANY talent at all in high school he wouldnt be so far behind everyone else

What I'm hearing is that hes not the kind of player we want at SLU anyways. There were multiple times he made up study halls and other things of that nature to get out of practice. Also its more that Cotto couldn't take the criticism from the coaching staff then anything else. He sounds like a soft kid, nothing like the kind of player we need on the team.

That's it? You come here talking s*** about SLU basketball and St Louis in general and I come up with, in my opinion, a pretty dang good story and that's all you've got...Im disappointed

Wheres Scott Suggs from...I thought he was playing DI ball...also whats with this guy and why does everyone keep giving him the attention he wants, he obviously is just some prick who loves to hide behind a computer screen and just say what he knows will piss everyone off. Dude its really not as cool as you think. Actually now that I think of it...Maybe you should actually go to each and every D1 coach who has ever recruited a STL player and tell him how stupid he is for recruiting such a terrible player. Also dont forget to tell all the players in STL they're no good and to just go play DII ball because OBVIOUSLY no D1 school will ever want them. Then just to make sure everyone gets a peice of your vast and unrivaled basketball genious make sure you go to Majarus and tell him how horrible a coach he is. Tell him that what he did at Ball St and Utah were nothing and that anyone could do it. Tell him that his players are terrible and they have no chance to win more than 12 games...then make sure you tell his players because they'll want to know how terrible they are too. After you've done all this, then you should run for basketball dictator of the world and by run I mean appoint yourself because no ones basketball knowlege rivals your own, not even Dick Vital's. Then everyone will come to you with their basketball questions and you will answer all by telling them "No one in the world is worthy to play varsity basketball in Philly and New York, unless of course said player is from New York or Philly." After you get bored with the constant stream of basketball related questions you realize what you must do. So you round up all of the non Philly and non New York...and sure the non Chicago players, cause hey Derrick Rose is pretty good you thought, and you put all these "inferior" basketball players in your "camps" so they will all work hard to be better basketball players. What they dont know is that you're secretly using these camps to actually kill them all, thus making a pure basketball race of only the best players. Then when the time comes you will take your super basketball army all over the galaxy, challenging all who stand before you because you know that with your New Phillygioans, as you now call them, no one can defeat you. But sadly before one of your games against the Wookiee from Kashyyyk, you are assassinated by an insane man from you guessed it, Saint Louis, for all the slanderous things you said about his fair city. Then in their disarray, your team looses in quadruple over time by one point on a full court shot at the buzzer...thus ending your 1000 year reign of basketball tyranny. On a more serious note though, Guy, really what you say doesnt matter at all. Say what you will but your comments are still ridiculous and arent based on any more "fact" than my story here. People like you make people like you look bad by being even more stupid than they usually are.

PE only gets half an athletic scholie...hell for sure be here next year even though he could graduate after the year is over...as for senior year not sure about that.

Rickma better teach these kids to score against a zone thats all I have to say. This is the kind of game that just pisses me off to no end losing to a team they should have won because of a lot of stupid things.

Dont mean to play the bad sport but I think that Brandenburgs gonna be a big ol bust at Virginia...just watching him play two years of AAU I just dont see it...yeah hes a bit athletic but other than that...just not a fan of his I guess you could say

What actually was the point of this thread? Both TL and KL are very good and being the senior leaders of the team both have a very important role on the team. Tommie came from a rough background and to do what he did and graduate from SLU is astounding...he may make mistakes but so do players like Tyler Hansbrough and Im pretty sure no one at UNC would ever criticize him...ever. People are people and theyre gonna screw up sometimes. I didnt read and bad posts about Tommie when he went for 19 pts and 14 boards against Kent St. so why now?
