  1. I'll give the guy credit though. He was touting McLemore a LONG time before the recruiting services talked about him. I've had my problems with a few of the kids Stl touted in the past, but he gets major props from me for talking up Mc, when some on here we were saying he'd go to Harris Stowe.
  2. Good season bills fans...it sounds like your young guys just kind of hit a wall at the end of this tourney. I'm really looking forward to the series the next few season between SLU and MO State. Both teams return a lot of talent, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see SLU in the dance next year. Nothing to hang your heads in this one...
  3. Game is also on channel 306 on DirecTv, and somewhere around 320 on Dish. It's called the HD channel. Good luck Bills!
  4. If it hasn't been posted already, your game is televised on channel 306 on DirecTv tomorrow night. Good luck Bills fans...
  5. Well, they aren't overly athletic, so athleticism bothers them if they aren't hitting shots. They also lost to last place Evansville, which was surprising given how bad they are. If Xavier pulls it off tomorrow as I expect, that's 4 of the 16 from non-power 6 conferences.
  6. Well, initially he said first Valley team to make Sweet 16, which was obviously very false. He then corrected himself by saying Valley tourney champion. He really made himself look poor by how many times he repeated his mistake. The same Valley that was supposedly so far behind this year, defeated the MWc in the MVC/MWC challenge, then UNLV, and now Kansas. It wasn't a fluke either, KU's only lead was 2-0. I'm obviously pretty stoked for the win for the conference, another step for all mid-major's, and money for MSU in particular. I'm pulling for Xavier to add another tomorrow as well. MVC! A-10! WCC! Horizon!
  7. Like I always say, no excuses. Doesn't matter if your leading scorer is out or not, SLU took it to them and won pretty handidly. Congrats. I was pretty ticked when Missouri State lost a road game to that team in OT on a halfcourt shot (by Marshall). They aren't good at all, and SLU took advantage.
  8. Dang, top-100 losses are bad losses now?
  9. Dayton has to win out all the way to the A-10 final to have hope for an at-large now I believe. They have really struggled down the stretch. I watch them play on television, and they just seem so talented. Athletes everywhere, a veteran PG who has the ability to get to the bucket. A couple of shooters, and an eraser at the bucket. Are they especially prone to poor shooting nights? Otherwise, it just seems like they underachieved.
  10. Regardless of their RPI, Wichita State is not on the bubble, and has zero chance of getting an at-large. Missouri State ends their season today anyway.
  11. Obviously, I'm some schmo on a computer and not on the NCAA selection committee, but I think you're really putting too much stock into the RPI for non-BCS teams. The committee has consistently shown to get an at-large from a non-BCS league, it is who have you played, and who have you beaten. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, and you were merely saying the teams that would be in if it went strictly off the RPI?
  12. Lots of time left...get on a run and win a few games and you'll get in the NIT for sure. In the end, I think the A-10 gets only three, as inevitable upsets in conference tourney's will happen, and those last four in you see now, would all be on the outside in the end most likely. The committee has proven time and time again, unless you come from one of the BCS conferences, you have to MAKE the committee put you in. I'm rooting for as many non-BCS teams to get in as possible though...
  13. Thank you Roar for not pointing out Missouri State rushing the floor after we beat a dreadful Arkansas team last year. granted it was the first game in our new arena, but I was literally cringing as students climbed around me to rush the floor (I was a Grad student in the student section at the time). Seriously. Stop turning it into a weekly occurence. I never did get to rush the floor in my time at Missouri State, because I believe you should only rush if you win the conference (MSU has never won the Valley), or if you win the conference tournament and go to the big dance (MSU didn't go in my time there- under grad or grad work). It's supposed to be special.
  14. Don't hold me to it, but I believe it was Monday. I was driving home from work, so he was on about 4:35 CST.
  15. You guys are 4th out of a 14 team league, and at home. Hell no you shouldn't rush the floor, you should expect to win that game. If you were 10-21, maybe, but not after the year you guys have had.
  16. I didn't see it posted, and frankly, just looked at the first page, so forgive me if it's a duplicate. Majerus was on with Doug Gottlieb, and talked about McCall. He said that when he was with Utah, after he got Andre Miller he told everyone he had just gotten the best Guard out of Los Angeles. He didn't care if the kid was rated a 1 star, 2 star, 3 star or 5 star, he was the best Guard out of Los Angeles. He then said that is what Mike McCall is. He doesn't care that he is rated 2 star, that he is the best Guard out of Chicago, and that he will be a STAR. He said he expects him to play right away, and be a great player before he leaves. He then emphasized again, that he was the BEST Guard out of Chicago. Big praise for a coach that respected to say.
  17. I get what you're saying, but that game was controlled by Missouri State from start to finish. SLU has had a better season, and I've conceded that, but Missouri State went into SLU, and won by double digits. They were without two players who would have played big minutes as well (Michael Porter and Cardell McFarland). There is no need to minimize MSU for that...
  18. I'll give you this. SLU should be in the NIT before MO State. Missouri State went 2-6 in conference games decided by 5 or less points, proving they are on the cusp, but not quite there yet. If they had just flipped that record to 6-2, they would have finished second, and would be on the bubble. Of course, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
  19. It can certainly be frustrating to have a few calls against you in a close game at home...the officials have a tough job, and if both sides are upset with you, you probably did a decent job.
  20. Why wouldn't the students just chant Push-It! Push-It! Push-it! While pushing their arms from their chest outward in a pushing motion? Sounds just like the other, but nothing profane.
  21. Just stopping in to say great job Bills...your young team is really coming together. I'm already looking forward to seeing you guys at the Q next year.
  22. True. But I think that's only for the elite recruits. I don't know anything of those players academics to know if they could qualify there on their own or not as well. I follow a big time football program, and they turn kids away every year because they won't use the sliding scale, and get kids admitted that way. They did make an exception for a 5 star, huge recruit (who turned out to suck).
  23. Pretty much. West-Plains isn't far from Springfield, about an hour or so down highway 60 exactly due East. We never recruit from there...have had two players from there that I can think of (Mike Wallace and Robert Yanders).
  24. Interesting...I didn't realize SLU's entrance requirements were the same as Missouri State's. I know the NCAA clearinghouse is the same for all DI NCAA schools, but the individual school still has their own requirements, I.E. Notre Dame, Stanford, Miami, Duke etc.
