We were called "Polio victims" by our freshman coach, a guy who was so old he probably didn't realize that a vaccine had been invented.

I was an events staff guy under Terry Elmore for four years and the baseball student-manager for two of those years, so I figured I'd have a legit shot anyway. I'd rather stay in St. Louis than relocate to Chicago, which might be an option for me in the coming weeks.

There was a consensus on the board that if SLU were to play the likes of UNC, Duke, Texas, even a BC or Georgetown, that we'd play at the Scott or even the Dome. I'd say hell no to that, simply because the number of fairweather UNC fans that showed up back in December. Play 'em at the Fetz, have the students eat up all the seats they can and leave the Dookies and Poplar Bluff Chapter of UNC Fairweather fans in the cold.

Notre Dame football players stay on campus all summer and work out at Notre Dame's brand new football complex or the Loftus Center. They really don't need to go anywhere else. I wish I could say the same for our teams. ND Football employs a small army of weight trainers and speed coaches.

I would just love to go to bed tonight knowing that Rick Majerus is our new head coach...I think we would all sleep better, instead of counting sheep, er, recruits that Brad couldn't land. WE WANT RICK!

I bet the former LSU coach gets the job. Illinois is craving controversy right now. Just look at the recruiting scams Ron Zook is involved in. Illinois is the laughing stock of the Big Ten Football scene and all of a sudden they get a top-5 recruiting class? Somehow that doesn't add up. Zook might be a great recruiter, but when Arellious Benn choses U of I over Notre Dame, red flags should have gone up.

That's a shame because my grandmother's maiden name is Donnelly, so they probably wouldn't go after their own blood.

Guys I know that this has been a trying time for our little slice of heaven we like to call SLU basketball, but when the next coach is made known and there is a press conference, I would like as many of our posters to make it to West Pine to try to make it. For one thing, I will be there, and I would like to meet some of you guys and chew the fat and try to move forward in this exciting new era of Saint Louis basketball. I know most of you, well probably all of you, have disagreed with me, wanted to kill me, or wanted to hire someone to kill me, and I admit that it was kind of fun getting under your skin. But I'd like to apologize for that and make amends by making myself available whenever the press conference is afterwards around West Pine. Leave the handguns at home. I just checked the tire pressure on the golf carts out by DPS. PSI remained in tact from yesterday's check. Translation - no Majerus today. Unless he hoofed it, which would be a great sign, but even old Chuckie Weis needs a golf cart.
