The Mizzou thing goes back for many, many years for some of us. A lot of the MU fans are obnoxious elitists, their state-funded massive athletic department and hide-the-clown-curriculum (e.g. personal trainer majors: KG, etc) offer huge advantages over poor little 'ole SLU. Recession of the '70's almost wiped us out. Bob Broeg and Bob Burns were great men, but they dominated the two sports sections for many, many decades... influenced the whole metro area favorable for Mizzou, Mizzou, Mizzou-ra... We haven't done a thing yet, but enjoy the possibilities... and then, maybe.... Payback is a *****.

Don't forget, attractive to play for Texas Tech (Knight) and last year K State (Huggins, although he punted).

Kids do not know about the Mizzou run under Stewart. MU is done. Anderson is solid but cannot get them there... if you want to play in Big 12, MU is 6th-7th most attractive place to play at best. Much less ACC, SEC, and Big East which are clearly better conferences, and Big 10 and Pac 10 which are somewhat more attractive. Cannot wait to hear MU fans whine in about 2-3 yrs if Majerus does good work and gets us some big time players.

Agreed. MU people are living in a dreamworld if they think they are still big-time. They WERE. Norm Stewart had an ORGANIZATION, with a pipeline of loyal servants who fed the pipeline for years. MU is just another school, no big time alumini that can call McDonald All Americans to help bring them in (like Walton, Jabbar, etc.). MU is not like UCLA that can recover from a bad coach or two. IT IS OVER.

I say over / under next year is 20 wins. Lost Ian, gained Majerus. Ian was not himself for middle ten games but took up space, drew defenders, got some rebounds, etc... Hope I'm wrong, hope we get 24 wins. But would not bet on it.

TT is not so hot. Was often overly cynical. Losses on front page, wins on page 9. Bernie is a wretched miserable sour-puss, hurts Billiken progress big time... recruits see what he writes and are affected. His large face is always on the front page. But now RM regime begins, perhaps we have a chance now.

Disagree, I think he was too negative about RM, the quotes from the one biased reporter in Utah were highlighted. Overall, last season I always thought he was often too rough on the Billikens, in his individual game reviews.

I haven't been optimistic but if you have ever negotiatied a significant business contract you would know that these things take time and in this instance with all of the unusual circumstances (health clause? charter plane? nice hotel with pool for him to swim? $$$$ much more than SLU is accustomed, etc, ) there are going to be some negotiation and legal delays.
