  1. Their NET (137 pre-victory) will get somewhat better after beating UMass (56.) You’d hope the NCAA would see the 10 Ws in a row, a Cinderella story in the making and give them a 12-13. But I don’t trust the NCAA, especially with only a .500 record. And supposedly they’re no longer favoring those with a strong finish to the season. Would be stupid for them to bury us and a possible Cinderella PR narrative.
  2. You are right. I misread. Thanks. In the projection I saw, they were shown in the Seattle Regional. But the subregionals are played at the home of the top 16 seeds overall. That would be Iowa/Iowa City. We’ll see next Sunday.
  3. That projection has them playing in Seattle. Selection Sunday is at 8pm ET one week from today on ESPN.
  4. Hard to argue that question. She’s the only women’s Bills coach to go to the Dance!
  5. Kennedy has made some really clutch shots, too.
  6. She’s a gamer. Hates to lose, loves to win.
  7. Women look very good. Evenly matched against UMass team with a way better W-L record. Coach Tillett gets a lot of credit melding this team together. In case not aware, game is on ESPN+ even if you’re not subscribed to ESPNU.
  8. I'm 50/50. Juggling some things. If I go, it'll be my 3rd A10 Tourney. Always a good time, especially keeping BAB out of fights with Bonnie's and Flyers fans!
  9. There were nowhere near 5,100 people in the building last night. It looked to be a third full, perhaps 3,000 - 3,500. 5,100 people must be tickets sold/distributed. Casual fans disappearing, season ticket holders not showing. Disappointing. But that's what happens when you have an underperforming team, a so-so name brand in Davidson, and a late start.
  10. I agree. The boos were at the team in general (yikes... here we go again giving up a late lead,) and they were brought on specifically on Yuri's inbounds pass/turnover.
  11. Here’s the post game press conference.
  12. Agree. I now expect us to lose in big games.
  13. 3rd time, uncontested down the lane. No help defense. Uggh.
  14. Travis has got to work the refs on flopping.
  15. 27 from Perk 24 from Pickett Who saw this coming? Very nice.
  16. I'll be there with a group of 8. In terms of pregame bar, the official Billiken Fan Reception is on campus at McCormick Lounge in Coffey Hall, a 5-minute walk from the arena. Here's the link: https://alumni.slu.edu/s/1264/17/interior.aspx?sid=1264&gid=1&pgid=7838&cid=12540&ecid=12540&crid=0&calpgid=413&calcid=8723 I just checked and it looks like it's sold out. But you might check with the contacts listed to see if they allow a cash bar or have extra pre-game tickets.
  17. Yes, it was because of the two quick fouls he picked up. But more important, it’s why he picked them up. He pushed off because he couldn’t beat his man off the ball and then couldn’t stay in front of his man on D. Whether it’s due to his ankle or his knee or some of each, he’s not good enough to play.
  18. I like Ford. But this kind of thinking is what guarantees perpetual mediocrity. It is also completely contrary to the Top 50 commitment and resulting heavy investment in coach's salary, basketball budget, building of Chaifetz Arena, million+ $ renovation of the locker rooms there, and soon to come Champions Center. We're sure spending a hell of a lot money spinning wheels, buying a bunch of nothing.
  19. My all-time favorite highlight and probably my favorite game. Indeed, Washington had no idea what him them. As I recall the game was at an unusual time -- a Saturday morning at either 10 or 11am. National TV. The basketball world noticed. RIP, Rick M.
  20. I saw today that SLU has put together a package for the Loyola-Chicago game on January 18. The package includes game ticket and pre-game reception. If you already have a game ticket, you can buy the pre-game reception only. This is great news. SLU's alumni team always does a great job on these events. Its great meeting Billiken fans before the game from both St. Louis, the host city (Chicago, in this case,) and from across the country who travel in for the game. Everyone sits together in same section, etc. I'm going and I know at least 10 others who will be going as part of this package and seating section. All of us witnessing a great road victory! 21. The last I looked, SLU was right in the middle of Beast basketball budgets. The new Champions Center (scheduled to open fall 2023) will add a very nice element to the recruiting mix. While it is not the panacea that NIL is, it will be a strong asset that few if any Beast schools have. Add this to the basketball budget, Chaifetz Arena, head coach salary, and expected NIL money... SLU can compete. There is no doubt SLU, its donors and sponsors are investing. We just have to get to the tourney this year. Hopefully to the second weekend. Then continue to build upon it. Build a tradition. That'll be the best recruiting asset. Kids wanna go to play in the tourney. Not sit home.
  22. 100% The goal is to be a perennial top 50 team. Depending where we fall in top 50, that should have us dancing every other year, minimum. Anything less is aiming too low.
  23. The bar for SLU should be better than 50%. At least 3 of 5 years.
