I would not have a big problem with this if the message from those at SLU the whole time wasn't different than the actual reality. May was saying these things even on the day the facility opened.

Here is the thing about Arch, he is a Manning playing football. The largest chunk of that money he is making through actual real endorsements because he is a Manning playing football. He won't lose that endorsement money when he heads to the NFL, it will only go up. Hell, his dad has carved out a really lucrative gig moonlighting as spokesperson/TV personality and he has not played football in 22 years. That is how strong the Manning name is when it comes to attracting advertisers. It isn't appropriate to compare Manning's NIL to the salaries of NFL quarterbacks, but rather to compare it to the endorsement deals of other athletes with similar favorable name recognition.
