  1. This gives a more quantifiable measure of how big the SMU game is going to be on Friday...will it coax Rich out of his soccer-safe hole?
  2. I just saw this on espn.com; it looks like it went up about 40 minutes ago. I hope everyone will be ok. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2591340
  3. Donigan said post-game that Kaufman (his first name is Ross) has not won the job yet. Disbennet is hurt and out for a little while longer, I believe.
  4. there was a related one that I liked...it was a photo teaser for an article that didn't actually exist. The headline was QATAR SENDS TROOP TO AFGHANISTAN and there was a picture of a single guy with an AK47 running in the desert.
  5. I will be there too...maybe we could coax some Bills fans who might not typically go to soccer matches out for this one? SLU v. IU is one of the best chances for someone who doesn't especially like soccer to try and pick up the game...
  6. never mind...just got the email. Bills 2, Navy 0. PK goal for DiRaimondo...Kyle Patterson goal.
  7. Anybody have any word on the Bills-Navy result?
  8. It seems as though a large portion of board posters (myself included) and approximately 100% of selective colleges in the country disagree. You and I answered the same questions, and I even believe that it might have been in the same year. Therefore, one would think that I could compare my high school education to yours based on the way each of us answered the same question. The theory seems to make logical sense. Cars are compared based on quarter mile times, even though every make of car is different. Computers are compared according to processor speed, even though they have different types of processors. Interviewees are compared based on relevant job histories, GPA's and the college that they graduated from, even though they're different. I do, however, agree that going to a private school guarantees nothing. The faculty and resources of a school are bigger variables in the development of a student.
  9. ACT's don't mean anything because students aren't standard. Don't even bother asking.
  10. please don't get me wrong...I'm not Biondi Bashing. I'm just trying to offer a picture of what the student body, IN GENERAL, seems to think of the guy. I understand that there is a business, and I understand why it has to be done that way. When my donations start coming through, however, they will be earmarked for scholarship funds. You can count on that.
  11. unfortunately, this seems to be a way around the intentions of the "no high school kids" rule. College hoops and all of the players would probably be better for these guys staying in school, even for just a little bit longer.
  12. Footes, that is exactly the picture of Fr. Biondi that the vast majority of students have, starting the day they get to their dorm rooms in Gries. Unfortunately, the common perception is that he never interacts with the students, too rarely participates in 10 pm mass, will run you over in his golf cart and does not have a very open attitude towards student suggestions. Oh, and that graduation fee and the departures of Fathers Barry and Doody did NOT help his image.
  13. Sloan told me in a UNews interview that he was interested in coaching D-1 basketball...that was his senior year. http://www.unewsonline.com/media/storage/p...unewsonline.com I don't know if his goals/objectives have changed since; it's been about two and a half years since that interview.
  14. BRoy, I agree EXACTLY with what you said. ACT's prove that every school isn't teaching to the same level of difficulty or requiring the same level of proficiency. Standardized tests serve as a pretty good benchmark to compare GPA's with. It serves to compare the kids at school A who earn a 3.0 GPA and score a 30 with the kids at school B who earn a 3.4 GPA and score a 21, proving that perhaps the kids at school A are better prepared when compared to kids at school B. That said, I'm not sure that GPA and graduation rates should even figure in to deciding if this guy should be fired. Having an audit allegedly discover that much misappropriated money should trigger an automatic firing. That's something that most firms/organizations would consider a gross violation of a contract.
  15. do you think that Biondi could push the Magnum Dome instead? It seems a little more intimidating...
  16. 6'6" sounds like a fantastic size for us. Perhaps we'll land someone who can shoot OVER the other guys...
  17. swing and a miss... who cares what other posters do; let them be recognized as ignorant. For a while, you had the respect of most people on the board. Go back to that...leave the one-upmanship, pissing contests and name calling to someone else. Don't use them as a scapegoat and don't try to deflect criticism (that happened to be intended as CONSTRUCTIVE) because someone else is an ass. Be better.
  18. thanks, 3 star...I just wonder sometimes; you never know how far off someone's actual high is from their listed height...
  19. They were too busy covering the Red Sox, Yankees and Barry Bonds to get to us. Sorry.
  20. ok, V, here's my feeling on the whole situation that's being played out here... I don't have a problem with you personally, V, but please, treat all of us and this board with the respect that you want to be treated with. I will certainly be glad to bend over backwards to treat you like you treat this board and the posters on it. That's a promise. HOWEVER, pissing contests over who spotted a high school stud first, how many times someone has seen somebody play and GPAs, ACTs and internships doesn NOT constitute respect. Additionally, I'm not singling you out here, V. Watch the way I interact with other posters on the board. It is exactly what I promised above.
  21. Classy. I think I'm gonna go egg my neighbor's house, then sit on their porch and protest that they called the cops on me. Perhaps some people will protest my mistreatment by authorities.
  22. Are these guys actually 5'9", or are they 5'9" like Will John is 5'9"? After hearing about Drejaj's "shortcomings" in above posts, I've inferred that they include shortness. Would we want a little guy running the point? Why/Why not? I'm in the "we don't" camp, by the way...
