  1. After the game last night i couldn't wait to get home to see how many blocked shots Ian had. The box score showed 5. Maybe I don't know the technical definition of a blocked shot, but I thought he would have around 9 or 10. Even my girlfriend said he probably had 5 in the 1st half. If one just gets a piece of the ball is that not a block?
  2. Mark Medley Logan College of Chiropractic '01. Practice and reside in Farmington, MO. I have have been attending random games for 10 years, but this is my first year with season tix. I did not attend SLU, but always rooted for them being the closest catholic university. My high school hoops coach was friends with Spoon back when they coached high school. My mom went to school with Charlie Boyd who played for SLU in the 60's. These minute connections sparked my interest in the SLU's hoops program growing up. I have been a die hard fan ever since often annoying friends with my constant talk of SLU basketball. I currently help out the Mineral Area College hoops team as team chiropractor.
  3. How about the baseline jam? That was big time. "Send it in big fella!"
  4. Downtown Danny Brown Or if you want to be geographically correct, midtown Danny Brown.
  5. I was reading about Kellie O' Tools in the other thread. I have been there, but not for a while. Is this the main pre-game bar? I have been going to Jacques(bottom of Sheraton) because I can park in the garage for $5 and walk one block to the game. It is very handy, however, the crowd is hit and miss. A run down of pre and post-game establishments would be nice. Go Bills!
  6. Every SEC team is long and athletic. Year in and year out SLU could match up with whoever comes in last in the SEC and it would be a game. No dog to SLU, just props to the SEC. 6'8" leapers seem like a dime a dozen in that conference. As far as the game, blame it on whatever. It was painful to watch. Silly unforced errors and bad defense. Yes. Bad defense from a UB team. UB will fix this.
  7. I believe we will see really how good Ian is with the TH matchup. TH is very physical. I hope Ian can hang on to the ball.
  8. UNC favored by 14. That is a respectable line for the Bills at Chapel Hill. Come on JJ!
  9. I knew we were in trouble when we shot so well in the 1st half and were only up by 2. Every one is right on. Why are they lighting us up from 3? JJ needs to play with Ian.
  10. Does anyone know of any drinking establishments in west county that show billiken games? I like to grab a beer and watch the road games but it is hit and miss because half the places have satellite instead of cable. It would also be nice to go somewhere where other people in the bar actually watch the game and cheer. Little help.
  11. Every good man defense plays help defense. Especially with 4 guards, you except them to be quick enough to guard the 3 without help. The "help" comes when your man is beat to the hole.
  12. The team physicians should be all over this one. Dehydration is one factor. The team should drink an abundance of water and perform a series of ankle exercises while on the flight. Another factor is the risk of blood clots. Medical standards recommend a dose of Lovenox for any flight over 6 hours or to be fitted for lower extremity compression stockings. Most clots go undetected but do cause vein and valve damage that eventually may lead to post-thrombotic syndrome. The injuried players(sprained ankles and wrists)are more prone to these clots as well. Sounds like MSU wasn't prepared. I hope the Bills are.
  13. Good game Ian. Although Ian is a great passer, sometimes he needs to shoot instead of pass. That monster dunk was awesome in the 1st even though it was called back because of a foul. Oh and by the way, Some posters acted like leaving the family area was like escaping alcatraz. I was out in 10 min.
  14. Will the band travel to St. Chuck? I hope so.
  15. Send one up and pray this is not true.
  16. TL not starting? Is this that serious? A little info would be nice.
  17. Someone has to know something on TL. Scary morning until I hear some good news.
  18. Red shirt is definitely a no brainer. Lose another 10 lbs. Give JJ a chance to do something. Please JJ, do something.
  19. How about cutting AD some slack. This board has been beating a dead horse for two months. Face it, AD is going to play. If people don't like it, tune in next year. He is a quality kid and wouldn't be playing in the A10 if he wasn't athletic. Who cares if he starts? He's not going to play the whole game. Geez...new topic, please.
  20. Is Larry Hughes involved with any recruiting? We've all heard of MJ calling Carolina recruits. I've heard that magic does the same. Not saying Larry is MJ or Magic, but a random phone call to a kid in the interest of SLU couldn't hurt.
  21. Do you think Danny Brown is that much of a drop off?
  22. It doesn't matter when the final decision is made. My Q is "Is he ready to play this year or not?"
  23. It's getting close to time to make a decision. I have not seen him play, but a few of you have. Is he ready or not? I have read that UB lets the player decide. Is this the right way to go about it in this situation? I beleive that VN and JJ can carry the 4 this year. From what I have read, Obi needs a little more seasoning. Should he sit and give JJ ample time to be a force? If Obi can help us this year, by all means, play. But if not, take a seat. This would make next years class pretty strong. Obi would come back next year with a clean bill of health stronger, faster, smarter, and ready to give JJ some big breathers.
  24. Good post and predictions bauman. Too many wins in the A10 though. A .500 season with a NIT bid is a good building year. NCAA next year. I hope they prove me wrong this year.
