-roy, you and i disagree about this yr's and next yr's schedule, so that is fine -as to scheduling, see kshoe's post about BC, there were talks before we beat them of continuing the series, we beat them, call them about playing again, and they say no way -so just because rick has broken bread (a lot) with every other coach in america does not mean he can snap his fingers and get a series established and i can say this by the remarks he makes on his show as to difficult scheduling is at this point -just b/c Fr B is head of the best jesuit school in the world does not mean the other padres heading the lesser ranks of Gtwn, Zaga, BC, Marq want their hoops team to automatically come play his team and again i can say this by the remarks rick has made on his show where he says Fr B is trying -the jesuit tourney is the way to go, we just need a sponsor (good luck with this economy) (maybe Brieto went jebbie at some point???) -as to last night's show... -he did make a comment about Femi and how good he "is" doing, but considering he was on crutches sat night not sure what that means, but perhaps he meant prior to his injury as he made that comment several times -said they have 2 recruits scheduled for lasalle but since that is during spring break and rick just became aware of that he is not sure about doing this as he wants an atmosphere and for them to see the school -is giving 2 free tix to any kid going to slu next year for lasalle to get some students in the house -it sounded to me like he said slu is now getting looks from kids that previously were not looking at slu, so perhaps more highly rated recruits -next week is last show for this season

-flipped to espn radio, the host was talking about the tourney and conferences and who was good and who is in and out -when evaluating strength of conferences says in essence and this is real close to an exact quote 'i think the top 6 in the big east are the best, followed by the acc and then the pac 10. the big 12 has good balance but the 6th place team in the big 12 could not compete for a championship in the big east or acc' -well dude, the 6th place team in the acc or the big east is not challenging for their conference championship either, and for you or anyone to try to use that argument seems quite biased and not real smart -then they went to spring training talk and gave no phone numbers as i would have liked an explanation to his logic -btw , had temple in last 4 out -i truly hope the committee is a LOT smarter than this bcs conference promoter from espn -also, are the bigs trying to restrict who gets invited to the party?? this past week 3 new tourney committee members were announced -the 3 new - wake ad, big 12 commish, big sky commish -the 3 leaving - utah ad, george mason ad, sec commish -so you reduce by 1 the non-bcs voices in the room, nice -if the day comes where they only have the big boys playing in the tourney i don;t think i will care or enjoy the tourney as much, but i hope we don't get to that

-roy, the sanctimony can stop any time -there is more than the "slip vs detroit" that forms my view -it is not about the "slips", as you said it is about winning the games that are played and we lost to some bad teams -but we lost to these bad teams during our frosh's early career college games -i do not see the point of throwing these kids to the lions in nov and early dec -in 2 yrs when we have jr's and sophs, let's go, but not this yr and not next yr -you and i have different views on this yr's schedule and i'll predict next yr's as well, so be it

-at times BT shows flashes that if he were able to make these moments consistent he would be a very good player at this point -of course, at times some flashes show the work that needs to be done, but isn't that part of being a frosh? -i like what i see from him and where he could go, hope in the offseason he does what the plan for him is, and if he does i think next year his contribution goes up and his junior year we see a really good player, i am thinking 12pts, 8 boards, a couple blocks -btw, the offseason to me would be working on his quickness, strength and agility

-is it just me or do others see that some folks who complained about our schedule being an albatross to the ncaa tourney are now saying if we would have won more of the games on our schedule we would be in the hunt?? -good to have it both ways!!!

-this game scares the crap out of me for the following reasons: -we may think we are good after winning 3 in a row -we may have dead legs due to 3ot's, travel and overall lack of depth -uncc returns 4 starters from last yr's team that won 20 games (ok, goldwire was pretty good) they were picked ahead of us and just beat dayton so maybe they are hitting their stride -i hope my worries are needless, we'll see in about 4 hours.....

-i see it the same way -i wonder if roy ever thinks rick says things to see if he can get a rise out of roy? -the inverse relationship is interesting to me if you think the arrow on slu's future is moving up (a rick phrase) but at the same time roy's interest is waning

-and both had very recent coaching changes, wonder how much that played into the leavings????

-we are Billikens fans, we should be concerned about everything Billiken related as something invariably happens!!!!
