If Crews is back next year, then that sends a clear message to all alumni that basketball is not a priority for the U. I've never been so excited for a coaching search. Once a new coach gets in and starts scooping up the Jordan Goodwins of the area, then Pitbull is ready for a reunion tour.

I can respect that. I just think that without the precision offense/defense that Majerus ingrained in them, they would never have been as good as bball players. They would have started in Crews' system...which we have seen does not work to any degree in modern college basketball.

Yes, that is what I am saying. Majerus molded them so well those first 2 years, that they became only marginally better as they got stronger and became more experienced. If Crews had them for 4 years right out of high school, they would not make the NIT. JJ, DE, MM, KM would have been playing some faux motion offense that doesnt work, never learn how to set screens, play defense, or rebound. Edit: And if you gave them to Soderberg, he would have been sniffing the NCAA tourney. The SLU coaching value equation is below. Majerus > Soderberg > Slufanskip > Crews

If you gave Crews all the recruiting classes that Majerus had in the exact same sequence, Crews wouldnt have made the NIT. I honestly believe that. Conversely, if you gave Majerus all the current players, he would be NIT bound. The only reason I dont say NCAA is bc our bigs are some of the least talented players in all of D1.

Dayton is just way better than us. Reggie is the worst starting big man in the A10 and he is our best option inside by a mile. We have no talent. #firecrews

In short, I have no idea. This season has me so jaded that I feel I am not giving JB the praise he deserves. How many 20 point games did Kwamain have as a freshman? Should we start looking at JB as a potential stud in the making? I have subscribed to the thought that Pistol talks about, that is, this team is so bad that someone has to score. But JB and Hines have scored in bunches, while limiting turnovers, and being the guards who won 2 conference games (one on the road) pretty convincingly. My prediction is that we come crashing down to earth at Dayton, which is not a tough one to make. But if we somehow win that game...then I would be the most conflicted fan ever (just bc I want Crews gone that badly). I my mind, Crews has to win the conference tourney to save his job.

I will echo what JBizzle said...At least now I am intrigued. We now look like we have hungry players ready to ruin some people's season. Maybe Bishop is the point guard that we need to actually facilitate the offense. He should play 30 mins every game from here on out. I dont care if he has to learn defense on the job, we arent going anywhere anyway. It felt like a soderberg team last night...not talented enough, but we arent punks who pout.
