Thanks, you were able to articulate the point I was trying to get across. Believe me, I have NO love for Self and am very glad that Weber is at Illinois. But as you said, so far the track record shows Self was a better recruiter and identifier of talent. Luckily with Majerus I think we've got a guy that can identify talent and coach it up over 2-4 years.

How many of those players did Weber recruit? I like the job Weber has done - but Dee, Deron, Luther, Roger and Augustine were all Bill Self recruits.

Aren't there 3 scholarships still remaining? There are 4 available with Obi and Horace gone, plus JJ and Ian graduating. Then, there is the extra one that was handed out to Bennett just for this season since we were only at 12, not 13.

CK, how was the banquet? FYI - not that it's recent news, but they said on KFNS or somewhere else that the tarp has been on the field for a few days now. Whether or not they can get it off anytime soon is the question. It sounds like the storm system will be out by afternoon tomorrow, maybe you'll get your European Football in this weekend.

I haven't read the other posts, but I predict 22-24 wins after the A10 tourney and a 10 seed in the NCAA. It'll give us a good shot to be a spoiler and go to the Sweet 16 with a legit big man and good guard play from 2 Sophs from the IL-side. It's good to be a Billiken fan - wait until we have the Arena!!! For the naysayers, give us at least one game to *****...

Hopefully whoever is in charge of the marketing at the games will realize soon not to throw out the plastic balls. It seems like anytime there is a semblance of students at a game (Arizona or tonight) they decide to make their presence felt by throwing a ball onto the court. Other than that it was great to actually have a student section in the crowd. Hopefully we can get 3 road wins and get more people at the games.

This is my first post here. I guess everyone is talking about Drejaj at the point next year. What about Polk? I know he won't be ready to step in immediately, but many point guards have stepped in their freshman year and done okay. From the talk about him and the highlights I've seen, he seems to be able to play the role well - penetrating the D, playing tight defense, distributing the ball, and scoring when needed. I guess we'll see for sure next year....
