1. I forgot to add DePaul to the list. Nobody in Chicago cares about them. Like I said it's humorous to see these non-achieving programs get uppity during conference expansion talk, as if they have any basis to critique.
 2. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="brianstl" data-cid="347948" data-time="1362156028">
Dan Wolken was just on Frank's show and said that the C7 doesn't like any of the programs besides X and Butler. The only reason why the will add more is because Fox is demanding it. Frank said someone at SLU texted him just now that he KNOWS that Fox sees the value that SLU would bring to the new Big East.

I find it humorous that schools like Seton Hall, Providence, and St. John's don't like the other programs outside of X and Butler. They have been such stalwarts in NCAA basketball the last 20 years. Fox is paying the $$$ and will get their way to 12 teams to be able to provide programming. How screwed up would a 9 team league be for scheduling? One team would have an out of conference game or bye every game day during the season. Talk about a cluster.
 3. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="brianstl" data-cid="347795" data-time="1362108511">
Supposedly the Dayton AD is claiming they have had no contact with anyone about an invitation to the new conference.

That is standard operating
 4. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Westy03" data-cid="347787" data-time="1362107761">
I can see them staying at 9 for the long haul. I fully expect us to get bent over

The skeptic in me feels the same way, but conference realignment is all about $$. That means they need 12 teams to satisfy a new Fox sports network. That gives me hope that we are in with the final 12. Picking Dayton over us, if they would pick an Eastern team to go for. 10 to 12 makes no sense market wise.
 5. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="BillikenFriar" data-cid="346555" data-time="1361886970">
All the talk around here has dried up like crazy. Seems like someone got tired of all the Providence based rumors and made a point to shut people up. It is night and day around here.

Either that, or the Billikens are on a 9 game winning streak, rated the highest in 19 years. People may have decided to enjoy this season instead of wading through the myriad of sources to figure out whether we are in the new conference or not. Speculating on that can be fun. But, I think many people have put that off to the side to watch a once in a generation success story for SLU.
 6. They better not be, but the pollsters are a bunch of morons. I think being on prime time Friday night helped us as the marquee game
 7. Yep, we're giving up men's bball and putting our new arena in mothballs if we don't get in. Might as well close down the university and sell off the property, too.
 8. Once again - blah, blah, blah. I'm gonna keep enjoying this season and not give a **** about this BS talk. Go Bills in 2013!!
 9. I'm just waiting for him to introduce Rick Majerus as the head coach, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. The intros must be written out and in front if him.
 10. Good, if Farr picked us I'd be worried.
 11. This is all you need to know about the author of that article. Not a basketball or college insider by any means. "Charles P. Pierce is a staff writer for Grantland and the author of Idiot America. He writes regularly for Esquire, is the lead writer for Esquire.com's Politics blog, and is a frequent guest on NPR."
 12. Whoa... @NicoleAuerbach: Brad Stevens added that Saint Louis is "at a level nobody realizes. ... SLU could go to the Final Four and it wouldn't surprise me one bit."
 13. Blah, blah, blah... Basketball makes money in the C7. soccer, swimming, and field hockey,, etc...

Didn't see the game as I'm at our kids school auction dinner. For goodness sakes, we won at Richmond by 10. I was worried we would lose. A win by 10 pts is phenomenal. Great job guys!

 16. Here is the blog. Just more speculation, nothing earth shattering. Blah blah blah.... 3-point shot: Big East 7 possible candidates By Andy Katz | Feb 8, 2013 5:00 AM 1. The departing Big East 7 are still negotiating their exit from the Big East and are far from finalizing a date to withdraw (although the exit is likely for the fall of 2014). The league still needs to lock in on a television partner (Fox, according to sources, the leader in the clubhouse) and a commissioner. But a number of sources have made valid points for additional schools the Big East 7 will go after, with the consensus being Butler and Xavier to get to nine. The 10th spot has interesting candidates, and while I have heard strong Richmond arguments for that spot, the Spiders may end up being more of an 11th or 12th member if the league decides to go that far. There is a definitely a push in one key corner of the seven to add Creighton because of the Bluejays passion for hoops, their facilities and following. I continue to hear conflicting opinions about whether or not distance matters in this new league. What isn't negotiable is the 7 want/need the schools to be all in for basketball. If that's the case then considering Gonzaga isn't out. This league has to be smart about its moves, and if Creighton is in the mix it would be a wise choice.
 17. I just looked at the C7 board for the first time in weeks. It reminded me that everyone on that board thinks their team should be in, if not one of the C7. Even if they are a MVC team (Wichita St.), a huge public school from Richmond (VCU) and that other Jesuit schools west of SLU are better fits because of their national recognition (Creighton & Gonazaga), forget travel costs. It's time to sit back and enjoy this season and ignore the idiotic speculation. We are positioned to be fine in the future, enough of reading the idiot C7 board for awhile...
 18. I was watching the Butler game yesterday and the color analyst there picked SLU as the best team in the A10, FWIW.
 19. I was going to record the game on CBS Sports but refrained, as every time I do that I jinx SLU and we lose. So, I attended the game and was hoping to see the game replayed. But, it looks like there is a multitude of "Super Bowl Live" on the network. Does anyone know if the game will be replayed or is available online?
 20. Harriman was able to get Tai Webster from New Zealand to go to Nebraska next year. He's a PG and would be a Top 25 US high school player according to various recruiting services. I'd take those results in a heartbeat right now.
 21. You sure make a lot of assumptions. So every rare weird accident, someone is a piece of sh*t. And a gal made a claim, her word is gold, you say. I say, maybe, but maybe not. I never said I condone fondling women, you ******. I said the facts were not established. And she and her family attacked ND, they defended themselves with facts. Depressed, saw shrink, took anitdepressants. I think NCAA sports are marred with a lot of players who should not even be in college, especially football players, but including basketball players. In this instance, however, I defend ND's position against any dweeb who just hates ND because of their national brand and established success. The two incidents you cite do not justify your position. Freak accident and a "he-said-she-said-who-knows?" Hey, I am no ND fan, but I respect that they are generally above the fray ethics wise as it relates to NCAA sports, though they, too have issues, especially when circumstances like these arise. I am done with this topic. ----------------------- Get over yourself, I was replying to showthebill and not you - learn to read. I didn't say her word was gold, I said Notre Dame smeared her name. Sometimes a no comment is better than digging up everything on a dead kid. And yes, Kelly is a piece of , a 20 year old died due to his inaction and incompetence. Someone DYING under his watch is kind of a big deal. At least the team managed to finish practice that day for him. Congrats on ND's great success recently, ******. They are not above the fray, they just like to give everyone the impression they are. At least they found a sucker in you to believe the myth.
 22. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="showthebill" data-cid="336698" data-time="1358610764">
<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="TRN" data-cid="336693" data-time="1358568814">
The student that died was Declan Sullivan. Kelly is a POS for making him go up on the lift with 40+ mph winds. The kid was scared shitless as evidenced by his tweets and knew he shouldn't be up there. It's funny that Joe Montana said that movie/story is all crap.

I highly doubt Brian Kelly tells every manager their daily duties. So I highly doubt he told him to go up there. That whole thing was a freak accident... Are you really trying to sell that he's a piece of because he purposely sends kids to their death?

As for the whole Seeburg thing, I would like your definition of rape because according to her personal account she wrote up it doesn't sound like rape to me.

Well, Jim Tressel was concerned enough about weather to pull his student managers down at the same time. I dont know if well be inside or out, Tressel told Ohio reporters 24 hours before the Notre Dame tragedy. It looks a little nasty. I worry about our cameramen, their well-being up there 50 feet in the air. At the end if the day he is responsinle for the safety of everyone tied to the program at practice. i can guarantee you he would look out for his players more than he did Sullivan. So, yes Kelly is a piece of . Where did I say the Seeberg girl was raped? I said ND destroyed her reputation after death and questioned her mental health. That's real honorable, attack the character of a dead girl taking meds for mental illness. And I guess it's ok to you for people to go around foundling coeds without recourse? That's assault any way you want to define it.
 23. The student that died was Declan Sullivan. Kelly is a POS for making him go up on the lift with 40+ mph winds. It's funny that Joe Montana said that movie/story is all crap.
