  1. I was under the impression that a player could not enter the NBA draft until he was 20. http://probasketball.about.com/od/nbadraft/i/nbaagelimit.htm "That limit is anticipated to be 20 years and older OR two years since the player's class graduated high school -- whichever comes first."
  2. Agreed, Whether it be there or here, I really dont care. I think we can take them no matter where we are. That IS if we even get in AND play them.
  3. V, I will be the first to admit that you watch 10x the amount of local high school hoops that I do in person. Hell, I am lucky to even see the box scores some days. I know you are a young guy and into college athletics over at HS, but I am going to have to defer to your (and my) elders when it comes to recruiting. Guys like Nate, 3-star, pdiddy, etc, etc, etc....all seem to get the correct local info on who is legitimately a D1 college prospect without throwing out 25 names a day like yourself. I wish I had your passion for the high school game and your enthusiasm to boot, but I am afraid that you are going to have to learn that just b/c a kid lights it up on the high school courts in the PHL, that doesn't mean is good college material, let alone good SLU material.
  4. Tyler cannot be "one and done" as per the new rules to enter the NBA.
  5. Didn't we just have a discussion about language on the board O fearless leader??? Or does that only apply to the people who don't pay the bills. Im just kiddin, if I was GW fan, I would be pissed too, but I am not, and I think that they are about right at the 8.
  6. I think we have an above average shot to get in. With a possible Mizz State matchup in STL or SPFLD, why would they not want to pack that house and laugh all the way to the bank?
  7. I think that without Pops and the lack of any real competition on the non-con schedule that GW got what they deserved.
  8. It is a pipe dream to get Brown, but I say, if Grimes wants to come over, we should throw out the welcome mat, also wouldn't mind Dandridge, Lawrence or Lyons, but I think that they are more longshots.
  9. quite frankly i think that the only way that STJ gets in is by winning the tourney. They have had a great run of wins, yes. However, the competition that they have faced during that time has been average at best IMO. Beating up on the mediocre teams of the A-10, us included, does not warrent a bid.
  10. Celebrity....NO. Law breaking, urinating, sick SOB pedofile....YES.
  11. There is a free ESPN Bracket challenge with a STL group already made up. I dont think that there is any limit, so everyone should come over and join up.
  12. Now that IS Dreaming.....I say we do good if we get one of those three. IMO if we get anyone, it is going to be Brandenburg...Suggs will head to UW, and Griffey is going to get HUGE pub and be out of our league very quickly. Hopefully Harrellson (sp?) comes through as well.
  13. She did not get married. She was on extended medical leave as billsboys has stated. Like him, I too prefer not to get into the specifics of the matter. I will only say that the situation was very VERY shady at best, and handled very poorly. As for the coaching search, I have heard that there are very few, if any applications coming in. Really is a shame for the girls as I mentioned before that they had dramatically improved their talent level and were finally recieving good solid coaching from a winner(maria had won the college championship with Wake Forest and brought a very fierce competitive attitude to the table) Alas, you can only do so much with limited support. So it goes for any sport at SLU that is not Basketball or soccer.
  14. Maria actually did do quite a bit to begin the process of turning the program into a winning one. before she arrived, the program was abysmal. However, personal connections aside, the FH girls were very screwed over this last year and while not getting into any of the details, the search for a new coach is not going well.
  15. yeah, i heard that one...but after that (with the exception of the obligtory pasta cheer) there wasn't much else. Im guessing he didn't want to expose himself to the crowd and show who he was so his new found nemesis wouldn't come down and beat him up.
  16. Seein' Darryl Strawberry sitting at the table across the court. Man, he is lookin pretty rough these days. Guess that is what the nose candy does to ya. Anyone know why he was there?
  17. skip, i was dissapointed that I didn't hear more from you last night. Perhaps it was b/c you were in the presence of two ladies..... Of course, the classic pasta lines came out....gotta love em.
  18. not true...if you look at the suite views...the upper deck is still there.
  19. From Timmy's article this morning: Backup guard Danny Brown is doubtful for the game tonight after suffering a moderate ankle sprain in practice on Monday. He didn't practice Tuesday and will be re-evaluated today. Brown has been SLU's only dependable shooting guard off the bench.
  20. http://forums.stltoday.com/viewtopic.php?t=338145 over at the pressbox, BM gets involved.
  21. still the thought and fact that there may be the slightest hint of something else still scares the bejeezes out of me.
  22. basically, they get full or partial rides to school to be with the team essentially 24/7. They help out with practice, do laundry, sit on the bench at games and assist, various administrative duties, etc. It really is a pretty cool gig, but takes up quite a bit of your time as they have to be wherever the team is for the most part.
