So, basically we beat the teams we should have beat and lost to the teams we should have lost to? Except for N Fla, that would be an upset then?

According to CBS - 36 rebounds to 16 rebounds. Have we ever been out rebounded by 20 before? We had 4 offensive rebounds. They had 16. That was a difference maker.

Old guy, I understand where Mizzou is and their academics. However, history would show that Mizzou academics when it comes to athletes is not a priority. Look back over the past 30 years and address all the circumstances where academics and their athletes are a complete joke. It's as bad as Mizzou leading the nation in arrests amongst their athletes over a 10 year period.

From what I have heard, the football team is not united. Apparently, there are a number of players that don't completely agree on the hold out. I wonder if these players would be doing this if they were undefeated and ranked in the top 5 with a chance to make the final four for a national championship. I would bet money they would not. All that being said, the few incidents I have heard of are really disappointing.

I'm just not 100% sold that his ball handling or defense will be good enough for a team that we want our Billikens to be. He's a great kid and appears to work hard, so I hope he gets where he needs to be.

Some people just don't like change and never will. The fact that it's even changing has people up in arms, so for many of those people this is a no-win situation. I'm actually impressed with the amount of work that they did put in to it. They involved 150 people. Is that enough? I guess that's subjective. They could have involved 13,150 people and some would argue that wasn't enough. In time, whatever the new branding is will become what we know. Most future students and athletes may not know the history and they won't know any better. I would bet there's a 60-70% chance that I won't like the new Billiken, but hey I'll get used to it. I was not a huge fan of the new "SLU" wordmark that appears on the outside of my season ticket box. It's not so much that I dislike it, I just thought it lacked some originality. I've had my tickets for a week and I am already getting used to it. By doing this it at least tells me that some thought is going on in the AD. Hopefully, it will be a sign that they still have a mission to better our athletic teams (most importantly men's bball) and that they are willing to look at all things to do that. If that doesn't happen, then I'll be upset.

Time to climb as far as we can out on that ledge.

Whether I like all six uniforms is irrelevant. I love that they have six uniforms! Good for them.

The defense concerns me as well. When you are far and away the worst defensive Billiken team in 20 years, something is drastically wrong. We are really missing something. We have good athletes on this team, so I am puzzled at why it was SO bad. It usually comes down to attitude, effort, and coaching. It is very puzzling.

I think you are right on - this is just the shield for soccer.

If we only win 15 games, then I would say the season was not good. I think we need to shoot for 18 wins at a minimum in order to say the season was okay. These days 20 wins is not what it used to be. (depending on strength of schedule of course)

This should be headlined by Joe Bonwich as he is the only real local celebrity I see listed. Make sure Guy Phillips doesn't try and grab your ding ding, Joe.

I don't think it's a large jump at all. Like you mentioned, MY already did that last year as a freshman. Ash was .9 of a point away from averaging double digits. Crawford was not 100% in the beginning of the season. In conference play he averaged just under 8.5 points a game. He averaged 19 minutes a game as well in conference. I would bet his minutes go up and if so, I would bet he would get to double digits. Roby was a freshman last year and I expect him to be better this year. He started off the non-conference games averaging 3 points a game. He then went on to average just under 9 points a game in conference play. I don't think it's a stretch that he will get to double digits. By adding a guy like Neufeld it could spread minutes and points, but I don't think it's a stretch at all to think we will have three double digit scorers. In fact, I think it will happen.

I know it has been stated that he is teaching a new offense, but do you guys think he will stick with that? Do you see us running more at all? I think we have the athletes to run, especially since guys like Neufeld and Welmer can get down the floor good for bigs.

I completely disagree with your post and starting this thread. However, I would agree that your getting unfairly beat up. It's the offseason and if you can't post a stream of thought that you're having on a board that was established to have discussions, then that's crazy. I guess sensitivity is high right now. That happens around here from time to time.

The shorter rotation debate has been never ending. I know Willie and I and a number of others on this Board have been screaming for it. I am just not confident anymore that it is going to happen and that is perplexing. Crews has been around long enough to how to cut this rotation down. Is he seeing that much parity between the players? Seeing that we were the worst Billiken team defensively in 20 years last year, I would think he would have to shorten the rotation down by playing the best defensive players at least.
