  1. Exactly! And that is my response to Cusamano and others. If we truly are willing to pay that kind of money, then we should be demanding more.
  2. Platt's still negotiating his contract. This sticking point is chartered flights.
  3. Wow, I didn't realize he married Lonnie Anderson. She's getting up there in age and has managed to get really lean.
  4. "Platt" has become my new curse word.
  5. I heard Matt Dickey wants to start coaching.
  6. I was reading up on him and was impressed. I have a friend that went to Mississippi State and he has stated many times what a god guy Rick. I did read this though: Stansbury passed Williams as the all-time most successful basketball coach at Mississippi State, with 192 wins, but was never able to match Williams's run in the NCAA tourney as he failed to get past the 2nd Round despite recruiting a huge talent pool. Stansbury retired with 293 wins, ranking 9th in the history of the SEC.
  7. Agreed. I like Harriman a lot, but his son has Leukemia so not sure if he'd be as focused as somebody without that adversity. He's a strong recruiter, but I'm not 100% sold that there aren't better X's and O's guys out there. He's been an assistant coach for more than 10 years. I think some guys are ultimately better assistants than head coaches and I think he falls into that category. Heck of a guy as well though.
  8. Crikey Mates! The answer is right in front of you. Benjamin Lisch, will play for the Billikens in 2032. Both mom and dad are professional basketball players. G'day!
  9. Agreed. Many people have way too high expectations of young centers. Unless they are McD All Americans or top rated kids, most contributions will come Junior and Senior year.
  10. The old Billiken mascot is laughing his arse off right now. No way he wanted his face put on this team.
  11. And was co-player of the game
  12. Not to depress anybody, but here's something to think about. Would Chris May fire anybody on his own or would he want the backing of Dr. Pestello? I'm sure if the AD wants to do something, the President can empower him to do it and by telling him he couldn't would take away from his job responsibilities. However, when dealing with any high profile employee, there are often discussions with the President when any big move like a termination is going to be made. That being said, Dr. Pestello falls on the side of believing employees should be on a long leash when it comes to overall production. Not sure how that factors into things or not. Crews is not a direct report to Pestello, so the same may not hold true. But, I would not be shocked if Crews is retained after a mediocre or even less than mediocre season. Maybe if the big donors said something that would make a difference.
  13. Yes, but some people are better bloggers than others.
  14. Often if something is written and it's inaccurate those in question laugh or shrug it off knowing it's absurd and there's no truth to it. When accurate things are written they often hit a sore spot and people then react. Just saying.
  15. Didn't Melvin Robinson play in an NBA game or just the summer league?
