  1. There's no one on the team with the initials "AB." Do you mean DB for Danny Brown or AD for Anthony Drejaj?
  2. Does anyone have an extra or unused ticket to tomorrow's exhibition against Truman? No, I don't have the money to buy a walk-up.
  3. Steve is the only one with the power to ban. He's also the only one who can move posts from one board to another. All I can do is edit or remove posts. I wasn't saying that I would ban Newberry; I was pointing out that Newberry is violating policy and should change his/her behavior to fit in with the mores of this online community.
  4. Roy, he edited the post to include the NIT. He probably did that during the time that you were reading and responding.
  5. I didn't see any picture. My computer at work is behind a firewall (I work at a school, as most of you know), so maybe Newberry posted a picture from a site that the firewall filtered out. When I get home I still won't be able to see it, as Steve has edited the post.
  6. If I remember correctly, Agbo is the undersized forward from McCluer who always outplayed Kalen Grimes. I don't think SLU ever looked at him seriously.
  7. You should have come up with 20-12, meaning 11 losses going into the NCAA Tournament. As for 3star's comment, whether the Bills can get an at-large bid with 11 losses will depend on where the 10-6 will get them in the C-USA race. If that's good for fifth or better, then they should be able to get an at-large bid
  8. I don't know the policy verbatim, but I believe that by knowingly and deliberately posting false and misleading information, you are in violation of the forum's acceptable usage policy (and if it isn't against the AUP, it should be, and Steve can change the policy at his whim). In other words, you're risking getting yourself banned.
  9. It has to be unprecedented that a university would recruit a street to play college basketball. Lindell will be awesome for the Runnin' Rebels. Who can drive the lane better than Lindell. Also: talk about stretching a defense! Lindell running all the way from St. Louis would be amazing.
  10. ...10 more points on easy baskets because of Polk.
  11. I'm 99 percent sure that Andrew Latimer (not Latimore) did not redshirt while he was at SLU.
  12. They're expecting at least 10 MORE easy baskets because of Polk? That's 20 or more points (sometimes easy buckets are wide-open three pointers). Please excuse me for drooling.
  13. ...can I get some of the proceeds from that toll road? It would be a massive undertaking to extend Lindell from St. Louis City to Las Vegas.
  14. Unless Luke Meyer suffers a season-ending injury within the Billikens' first few games, it's too late for him to redhirt. He's already played in a game this season (even though it was just an exhibition), so NCAA rules don't allow for him to redshirt unless it's a medical hardship. I was one of the people who, early in the offseason, thought that Meyer might be redshirted this season, but Angres Thorpe nixed those thoughts in September when he told the Tip-Off Club that both Meyer and Danny Brown had pleasantly surprised the coaches with their toughness. Then I saw Meyer play, and I knew that Meyer will contribute this season -- there's no reason to redshirt him.
  15. You talk about unanswered questions being cause to doubt a 20-win season. Teams do come from out of nowhere to have great seasons, you know -- sometimes after being picked by virtually everyone to finish in the middle of the pack. Consider Iowa State of 2000. On the other hand, sometimes teams with few preseason unanswered questions and lofty expectations fall flat on their faces by season's end. Last year's Missouri Tigers come to mind. I think it's healthy to be optimistic, within reason. Go ahead and expect the Billikens to win 20 or more and make the NCAA Tournament, because they probably will. Certainly that's what the team expects of itself. And if they fall short -- well, we St. Louis fans have a lot of experience with that over the last 12 months and counting (Mizzou b-ball of last year; the Cardinals in the World Series; the football Tigers of this year; the Rams).
  16. 3star, I agree with you that it's a reasonable comparison, but I take umbrage with VanGor's negative tone. He basically said that both coaches are ultimately medicre and that we're fools for rooting for their teams.
  17. If the fact that the Lady Billikens (which comprise something like 11 freshmen and sophomores) won by "only" five against UMSL is evidence that Jill Pizzotti is a poor coach and should be fired, then what does the fact that the men's team beat UMSL by just seven points say about Brad Soderberg? And, no, no one in his right mind is calling for Brad's head.
  18. Stick around. In two or three years there will be plenty of Billikens fans to rub your nose in how wrong you have been. Either that, or you'll have the chance to gloat. My money is on the former. What's your beef with Gary Pinkel, anyway? He got the Tigers to a bowl game last year, and there's still a chance they could qualify for a bowl game this year, as well. Sure, their season has been a disappointment, but don't such seasons happen to every coach -- even the great ones?
  19. There's no point in our arguing with you; you know everything, and your Missouri Tigers can do no wrong. Even though all those Top 100 recruits Missouri had last year led the 2003-04 Tigers to a season not as good as the worthlessly underrated Billikens recruits last year, you still know precisely what you're talking about. How many of St. Joseph's players went in as Top 100 recruits? Lastly, spin all you want, but Kevin Lisch is a consensus Top 100 recruit, and Tommie Liddell is even better.
  20. "I don't think we'll see the "real" Polk/Bryant/Newborne on offense until 5-6 games into the season." If that's the case, let's hope the Bills don't go 1-2 in the Paradise Jam.
