  1. I guess that's Saintsations. Sorry, ladies.
  2. SLU's cheerleaders were the best and friendliest in Columbus. And a lot of my Columbus friends agreed. Go SAINTSENSATIONS!
  3. Skip, I think it's pretty much regarded that when a coach leaves and leaves a recruit hanging, the recruit's given an out. Yes, they are supposed to be recruited to schools but we all know they are really recruited to coaches and their staffs. Think the NCAA's been pretty liberal on this situation.
  4. I think he led the NBA in steals a number of seasons. Or was at least near the top tier of pick pockets.
  5. We'd have held our own against UL as well. Nobody can hold their own against UK.
  6. Last night and this morning the experts were falling all over themselves about how great this year's final 4 is as compared to recent years. Especially last year's when two (overachieving and pushy) mids crashed the party usually reserved for college BB's elite. No doubt the programs involved this year have long and storied BB traditions, but when looked at in today's light, ie KY's one and done diaper dandies and the whole slimy business of wooing 5 star AAU recruits, you would think they'd champion the little guy a little more for the much longer and harder road they have to travel, ie the mids do it with real student athletes, and not a bunch of wunderkinds who are spending their one year forced exile from the NBA in programs that treat them better than the British royal family. And then we get an interview w/ Calipari where he thinks kids should have to stay two years before entering the NBA. Really, JC, who wouldn't want KY's starting 5 back next year intact for a 6 inch gimme championship putt? This is a rant post, but it still worries me that someday the tourney will be held solely for the benefit of the power conferences, and all us mids, or in our case, high mids, will be left out in the cold.
  7. Gotta love Billikens.com. A thread about one kid leads to a spat about two prior kids. Back to the original premise for a second, is there any chance we could land Malcolm Hill. I'm sure when his recruitment was open we were at least in on him at some level. Did we offer him? I like what RM's done w/our roster, but would still like to see us land an elite local or two.
  8. It's a valued collectible. Probably see 'em on Ebay selling for about a grand a piece, or more if we make it to the final four next year.
  9. I just saw some KY fans on TV w/ blue T's saying, Bow to the Brow in reference to A. Davis. I guess nicknames are ok. But good move, Steve, we don't want JJ ineligible. He's an absolutely essential player in any future success we're gonna have.
  10. You better check this, Clock. I lived in Ohio for more years than I care to think about. OU is not a new kid on the block in the MAC.
  11. Free room and board? The board portion can't be cheap.
  12. I'm hoping one of the favorable fallouts from our tourney trip for is that we are now a more attractive option for local kids. Haven't heard much about St. Louis area kids, like the Beals and Berrys, that we might be interested in or who may suddenly be interested in SLU. I still don't see us landing the 4-5 star locals at this stage (give us a few years and that might change), but there's got to be other kids who have D1 talent.
  13. This is probably a better hire for the Illini than Shakur. He knows the lay of the land. Question is will it impact SLU's recruiting of Chicago, Ill, and other mid western states in any way? At first blush, I'd say not much if any. He has to go after the 4-5 star guys to compete in the BIG.
  14. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere Tubby might be in trouble. My comment was mostly in jest, as I don't think RM wants to leave SLU, but I'd sure feel a lot better if they'd give him that extension for at least another 3 years.
  15. Only in ST. Louis, everywhere else, he's great. What's he doing in Minn? Hopefully, not in talks to replace the Tubster.
  16. For those of you who may never have met the Wiz, he looks like a Wiz especially w/ that tall pointy hat he wears. Nice going, Wiz, you belong on ESPN. And while I'm no fan of either RP or JC, I hope UL kicks UK's NBA bound butts back to Lexington. I'll bet KY's frosh aren't even flying back to Lexington, JC probably got 'em all tickets to their home bases. What a joke he's making out of college hoops.
  17. Aaah, the dreaded off season blues has really arrived. Am sure this post will be followed in the near future by pics of Elle McPherson modeling Jorts, Blake A (the greatest player never to wear a Bills uni) with his fiancee shooting FT's, and, lest we forget, and facebook pics of M. Dickey (the greatest player to be mistaken for a Billiken)graduating from UNC Asheville.
  18. Looks to me like good handles, good form on the 3, and takes it hard to the hoop. Of course, it's HS. Where does he rank approximately w/ Indiana recruits?
  19. Man the comments section were not kind to us at all. Wonder where that's coming from?
  20. The biggest thing going for the Bills over the off season is they got a taste of what it takes to win in the NCAA. Therefore, they will be highly motivated to get back to the dance and make some serious noise next year. The specifics of the work they must do is important, but more important is the motivational aspect. Conklin put in all that work because he didn't want to be here for 4 years w/o a trip to the dance.
  21. WP, I just realized I have no idea what worldwide primo soccer is?
  22. Golf doesn't have defense? I beg to differ. Everytime my opponent is over his 3 footer and draws the short stick back, I cough. He misses just about every time. It's called the Hack Curtain Defense. The only thing I learned from Sr. Maria Carol was she didn't value hands at all. WHACK, that damn ruler hurt.
  23. How can you second guess him? 6'6" but maybe he's a wingman ala DE. Sure would like to a 6'8" superman, but I don't think SLU's ever getting another AB.
  24. RM said it best, "he wouldn't have played much here."
