  1. If you're good you get invited to good MTEs. If you're not good you need to sell the hope that you'll be good when the MTE comes around.

If only there were a person responsible for handling external relationships for the betterment of SLU athletic programs.....

College softball is a top tier made for tv sporting event, is a hill I've been dying on for years. 90-105 minute games, perfection.

Really is the tournament is awesome sadly it's always in a terrible location benefiting one of the worst schools.

But near where I live it's on in the sports bars and everyone's into it.

Nice to see this SLU run. Will they have a chance at a regional bid? Or do they have to win the A10 for that?

Quirky softball story from the west coast. Stanford Softball is using the Stanford Football stadium https://www.espn.com/college-sports/softball/story/_/id/44707776/stanford-softball-home-stadium-2025-college-season-football-field-transformation

Softball popularity is causing the softball facility arms race. I'm hearing rumblings at other schools about facility upgrades. It's a pretty exciting sport for TV.

How does one become an Eintracht Frankfurt fan?   I actually saw them play once.  Right before COVID they came to St Petersburg, FL to train on their Christmas Break.   They played a friendly vs Hertha Berlin.  I was there because SLU alum Vedad Ibisevic was playing for Hertha.  Controversial Jurgen Klinsmann was coaching them.   He was a nut.

Live 6 years in Germany and all your closest German friends are Hessians and big Eintracht fans.

Also this ESPN Bundesliga deal is really nice it has every game. It's the most exciting league to me with more scoring.

They just did another North America tour but i was unable see them.

  5. OT: STL Soccer related not SLU related

I'm a Eintracht Frankfurt fan and I didn't realize that ESPN Bundesliga commentator Lutz Pfannenstiel is also the Sporting Director for STL City.  It was mentioned in the Augsburg v SGE game as a player was preparing to enter play that is being evaluated by STL for transfers.

I guess it makes sense to have a Sporting Director that will be in Germany on ESPN's dime and can evaluate players.

My educated guess on how SLU is handling NIL is that there is $X amount firmly committed to NIL pot, but as you said, funds can be raised if there's a can't miss player asking for more. What the limit on more is, I'm sure I don't have an idea.

Kutis Bucks, Lion's Choice Vouchers, and Billiken Bucks are all on the table. Billiken Bucks would be the sneaky NIL option because it's a pretty good walk from Grand Central to the Subway in the Food Court. So we'd probably save $, but if he did walk he'd get his steps in, so win win.

I can't wait to see how the needs of both MEAC and SEC players are met equally.

Exactly.  Besides Ross Dellenger, Josh Pate is a great source on this stuff because his sources are SEC decision makers. Gleaning information from his "hints" I'd bet the SEC and B10 are working CBAs that are very similar that will handle revenue sharing and incentivive players staying more than 1 year.

  8. I think conference CBAs are the way to go.  Conferences generally have  like schools and are smaller entities that have an organization in place to manage business.

A10 schools could all agree to revenue sharing, then develop a means to offer player contracts.

Questions still TBD would be are the players then an employee this gets complicated across state lines and public vs private.

Keep the NCAA out of it as much as possible.

I agree with your opening statement.

Kerr however is 6' 11. Otieno and Anya are 6'8" and Thames is 6'6" we get really small with a 6'8" center and Anya has very limited range.

I think we need another 6'9"+ transfer. Height alone will give Kerr a chance. I'm hoping he has put on some muscle. If our biggest man on the floor is 6'8", I think we are in trouble.

That is a concern SLU was 229th in height last season. VCU was 59th.
