  1. Was that when the VOLS had Bernie King and Ernie Grunfield (Ernie and Bernie Show)? If it was and I had those two, why would you stall? If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead
  2. First, I don't think we should pack his bags quite yet or even next year, but I think one thing to consider is Brad's contract. As I recall, when Cheryl first arrived, her first order of business was signing Brad to a multi-year contract. I think it was 5 years. Next year would be only the third year of that contract which would require the SLU administration to pay him off for the other 2. That is probably pretty close to a mil. Tarheel If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  3. Your right. I can remember what I made right after I graduated. It was living with 3 other guys and lots of macaroni and cheese. One positive was, it was a lot of fun.
  4. I had no clue what these guys make. I guess for the average player it is best to "not quit the day job". "If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  5. My mistake. I thought he had another year of eligibility. I wish him the best of luck. Also, I didn't know the MLS had a kind of a minor league system. Tarheel "If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  6. For some of you soccer junkies, a player like Wynn, how much and what would be the conditions of a contract the Revolution would give him? You read about players like Beckham and what Real Madrid is paying him but the Revolution is no Real Madrid and he's no Beckham. Also, I noticed he is going into his senior year. Are the advantages of going now (other then possible injury) much different if he waited a year? He**, his scholarship from SLU is worth about $35,000 and he will getting his degree. Tarheel "If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  7. Do they let you bring in a cooler?? Doubt it but would be a great time anyway. If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  8. Skip, Made my day work a little more enjoyable. On the Ahearn/Clark issue, lets give it up. What do you want Brad to do > get on his knees, beg for forgiveness that he made a dumb choice. It's water over the dam. Tarheel If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  9. I think Roy is correct. Brad never built on those core players (Perry, Sloan and Fisher) that gave us 2 NIT invites. Anyway, I think the issue should be "why is so hard to recruit at St Louis?" I think it frustrated to no end Spoon, Romer and now Brad. Romer can obviously recruit in what he doing at Washington. I like what SLU 72 said that Romer was 3rd choice. This says to me that SLU can be a career killer. He was lucky he was a alum and they liked him. Tarheel. "If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  10. Does SJU have a free internet radio broadcast for tomorrows game? "If life were fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead."
  11. That's my era Roy. It was the 70-71 season and Jimmy Irving was the star. Wiley graduated the the year before.
  12. I see things have not changed much from the old days of 30-35 years ago. I remember heading out to the porn drive-in with a bunch of guys out by the airport (I believe it was on St Charles Rock Road) with a case of Busch.
  13. BTW. It wasn't much difference from when I was a student. In my freshman year we were playing for the MVC crown at the Arena. I remember (except for the ND game)that was aganist Bradley and this was the only great crowd we had. That team had Rogers, Irving, Lockette, Paradowski, Frailey (too bad the three circle was not invented then), Stallworth and Martinez. Then the next 2 years we played in the old Kiel. The team was very good. But, except for a group of guys from one or two floors from the dorms, students didn't attend. We need to start a tradition similiar to Creighton, XU or Gonzaga.
  14. Phil, I am a old alum ('74) so please excuse these questions if they are stupid> Who is Natty and Jenna? How can they compete with Billiken basketball? Anyway, I am just getting ready to drive to the rural hinterlands of south central Mississippi to watch my son play aganist the 4th rated team in the state. He attends a small Catholic HS here on the coast of Mississippi and it will probably be a blow-out. I know its my son and I not optimistic but he won't read this. Also, for 1/2 the season they didn't have a gym with it being repaired from Katrina flood damage. Maybe I can recommend a good outside 3 point threat for Brad from this team. LOL
  15. Try> http://slubillikens.collegesports.com/spor...ennis-body.html I have no idea how good they are. tarheel
  16. I have the game on Fox North East and the Bills are up by 1 at the 1/2, This would be greater if it Zags didn't have that lucky 3 at the buzzer. Oh well...Lets bring on that victory.
  17. School of Social Service '74 BSW and '75 MSW. Also have a MPH from New Your Medical College. Been employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the past 26 years. Current position is Chief, Social Work Service at the Gulf Coast VA Health Care System in Biloxi, MS. Followed the Bills since HS in the late 60's. Best time I had as Billiken fan was when I was a undergrad and followed the great Harry Rogers teams (70-74). In the 5 years of attending SLU probably did not miss more then 4-5 games. Even went to many of the away games with a group of friends during those years. Now make several home games if they are within a five hour drive. Really ticked they they will no longer schedule USM and Tulane. Tarheel
  18. I always found the return from Hawaii or going to Europe being the hard part of dealing with jet lag. Usually that involves a 'red eye' flight and I have difficulty sleeping in a economy seat (I am 6'2" /240). Therefore, I would be more concerned about the SIU game on Wednesday night since I suspect they will be returning Sunday night arriving Monday AM.
  19. Sorry Larry, Still stuck down here in "Katrina Land" of Mississippi Gulf Coast. Damn, all those years of playing Tulane and USM and they would have to stop when I get down here. Tarheel
  20. If you talk to the Charlotte fans they hate us with extreme passion about coming to the Savvis. I never seen so many upset 49ners when they learned we both are going to the A10. I don't know why they get upset about 50-48 scoring games. LOL
  21. Being this is a non-ACC game and most tarheel fans or students don't have a clue about SLU, I would think you get some folks unloading tickets around the Dean Dome. I remember when I went to ECU-SLU games with Steves Billiken.com shirt on, the ECU fans looked at me I came down from Mars. Unfortunately Larry, I wish I could go. Still down on the Mississippi Coast with the job dodging hurricanes.
