BLIKNS
Just an idle thought ... what if? The A-10 asked Wichita State and UAB to join?... form 4 pods of 4 (SLU, Dayton, Wichita State, UAB) (VCU, Richmond,George Mason, GW) (Fordham, Rhode Island,UMass, St. Bonaventure) (Duquense, Davidson,LaSalle, St.Joseph`s). Play everyone once, and your pod twice, 18 game conference schedule. Didn`t include Northern Iowa, because they have successful football program. Would Wichita State and/or UAB be interested? idk (seen UAB wanted to stay C-USA, but without football..... I know another expansion topic, but hey why not? Billboy1
We have a lot more serious issues than conferences right now. As it stands we're lucky we are in the A10.
kshoe
Only way A-10 expands out west if they had assurances that Dayton and SLU wouldn't jump to the Big East the second they asked. In other words, not gonna happen.

hsmith19
Given the fact that they're not as far west and don't play football, wouldn't Evansville and Loyola be more logical? Not that the A-10 would want either of them right now, but they would at least provide some Midwestern company for SLU and Dayton.
brianstl
I always thought Belmont could make some sense. Plus it would be nice to have another reason to make a trip to Nashville.
thetorch
I'd rather have Belmont that UAB. It is impossible to win games at UAB. Belmont is easier to get to and I doubt UAB's ability to continue to support their program.
HoosierPal
UMass may someday be forced to join an all sports conference in order to play football. As we know, football rules, even if the program is a dog like it is at UMass. I'll take Belmont like thetorch, and even though we had some fun with UAB in CUSA, I'd take Loyola of Chicago over them in a heartbeat. There is untapped potential on the North Side. I wouldn't say no to Wichita State, if it appears they are on the move.
Billboy1
Rather have a team that is competitive in any conference-let's right the ship before we sail
