1. Veterans Who?????? - According Too Mike Decourcy - Billiken veteran players (Sloan, Fish, IO, AD ??????) are lobbying Coach Soderberg Too NOT redshirt Bryce Husak this year. Coach Soderberg needs Too rely on his own instincts, not Too mention putting on about 80lbs on Husak's frame in his 5 YEARS at SLU. Shut up players, pick up games at West Pine are nothing like D1 college basketball. Husak will be much more valuable as a 4rth year jr. and a 5th year senior than he will be this year.

2. Earth Too Brad, Earth Too Brad - Recruiting these foreign players who have previously played with foreign professionals only hurts in the long run as these players are suspended. Another player will now have Too sit out a 10 game suspension as our Billikens try and win games - this is now 2 years in a row. Victories do count in the RPI - you do NOT get points for being shorthanded for 10 games. Not Too mention that you are taking a schollie away from an American player. 2 players have cost the Billiken program 20 suspended games over the last 2 years. 3. New Arena - What Arena????? There will be NO new multi-purpose entertainment facility for SLU in the near future. This is going Too be a very on-going, on-going, on-going project. The big donors are already commited and the monies fall way short. NOW HERE IS THE TROOTH - the large majority of (ever depleting) season ticket holders for SLU basketball games don't want anything Too do with the city - they could care less, they are scared of the inner city. They love the Saviss, be it park in the connecting garage or take the Metro Link and walk a half block inToo the front door. It can't happen with an on campus arena. Oh by the way - throw in the recent fiasco with the public school board - another white/black inner city issue. The metropolitan area is a very racialy divided area and Grand and Olive is still not a place that a lot of people want Too go. You can fill a relativily small theatrical venue but a 13,000 seat arena - come on!

4. Frankie C. Does Not Speak Frankly - on his "Frankly Speaking" program on Thursdays 0n KFNS, he never asks the right questions of his guests. In a recent interview with Billiken Head Men's Basketball Coach Brad Soderberg, Coach Soderberg admitted Too breaking minor NCAA recruiting rules, Frank let it ride, he changed the subject, shame on you, Frank.

5. Tommy L. Update - Stangely enough, according Too Maurice Scott, certain unamed schools have recently been added Too Tommy's top school recruiting list besides SLU and Marquette. They must be JCs that will accept that extremely low HS GPA. Hope it isn't the College of Southern Idaho ho ho.

6. Regardless of What -- the media wants us Too believe with their mega inches of columns devoted Too the likes of Dave Bliss. The very, very large majority, (99.9%) of college coaches are exactly like Coach Soderberg.

7. Will The Rich get Richer - Coach Huggins is droooooling over Cinci HS freshman O.J. Mayo who was only one of 2 HS freshman Too be invited Too the prestigiuos Adidas ABCD Camp this summer.

8. Mizzou Recruiting Budget Drops Dramatically - as Top 50 recruits are evidently lining up outside the door of Coach Q in order Too commit. Why spend all of those big bucks on those foreign recruiting services Too supply you with info on the next 10 game suspension player when there is a red blooded, grade A American top 50 player banging on your door. Saves us MIZZOU State tax payers some coin. Way Too go Coach Q-Tip.

9. B Morris Fiasco - Hey, here is a guy who commited Too SLU, then had about 100 semesters Too get his grades in order Too reach that 35% degree course level that the NCAA requires. Sounds like an easy way out Too Triangle for a player who changes his mind. OOOPS- Now I can go Too another school wothout a penalty.

So it goes..... Let us not forget that although the war in Iraq has taken most of the headlines, we still have American soldiers fighting in the remote mountains of Afghanistan - risking their lives for world freedom. At exactly this moment, there is probably a young American soldier risking his/her life, dragging some skinny tongued Taliban out of some hot stone cave and reading him his rigths of international law instead of pressing the metal - SLPAT! But that is what America is all about!

It could be a reference to Too sucking once again on the Tiger teet, as his last few posts have been critical of Quin, but on this one he clearly jumps back on the S.P.U.M.A.C. bandwagon.

I know everybody on this board is aware of your strict policy on how Juco's are the way to go and that Soderberg should have signed more Juco's. Now you finally (i realize you aren't a Billiken Alum or have billiken blood and therefore not as intelligent as the rest of the posters) see why SLU can't/shouldn't recruit Juco's. And instead of stating you were wrong, you take the hypocritical approach and insinuate Soderberg should never have recruited him in the first place.
