I tend to agree with you. The only thing is that I do think SLU is uniquely positioned to be able to compete with the big schools (maybe not the top tier) as a mid-major in this NIL world. Only have to focus on bball, Located in a major city, $$ from donors and alumni commitment to athletics & facilities, etc.

Nice win for the bills after a mini layoff. I didn’t think we played that great. We had no business losing to that team, we had 4/5ths of the talent on the court. However, it was the same thing against Belmont. Yuri is SPECIAL! He has really turned it around after that 3 game rough patch. I hope we can get a game in before the bonnies game. That will be a test, but I fear NO team in the A10. So excited I can even state that with confidence after losing our best player before the season. Awesome!

I just don’t get the constant living in fear. It’s been around for two years now. We have a pretty good idea of what’s going to happen.

I was thinking the same thing. Lost a guy at his position in Perkins, potentially moving him up in the depth chart and he still can’t sniff the court except in garbage time. I’d be surprised if he stuck around.

I think it was our first game off of the long Covid break last year and ford only played like 6/7 guys all game. I had that same feeling last night… like dude, what are you doing!? Get some fresh legs in there!

I thought he played great last night. 17 points and guarded an nba lottery pick all night and held him to 13 pts.

I don’t know if ford still thinks he has Goodwin on the squad to just leave dudes out there for an entire game, but tired bodies lead to mistakes. It was clear that the only two guys on our team that could handle the ball with confidence against that tough defense was yuri and Nesbit. And I get the thought, “hey, those guys have it rolling so I’m leaving them in there”, but I think you have to find a way to give them a breather. either way, have to learn how to execute AND COACH down the stretch.

Don’t stress too much about the end of the game, coach on radio said he told the guys if yuri threw it to them to fire it up (more assists), but caused the closer game. Okora looked good, I was impressed the most with the blocks. Bad news is we have auburn up next who has same if not more talent than Memphis and much better coached. Ford better start cooking now with that chalkboard.

That was one of the most disgusting losses I’ve seen in person in a long time…. Absolutely terrible. I’m gonna step away from this board for a couple of days. Later dudes!
