Yuri gets the most criticism of any player due to sending the program and fanbase on a rollercoaster last offseason. Rightly or wrongly, it rubbed many off the wrong way.

VCU just got better. No excuse making, just went out and did what’s best for the program.

And this is why SLU will be mired in mediocrity.

Instead of looking at Gonzaga for a model of consistency, we need to focus our attention to San Diego St. They too are in an urban setting, but have gotten to this point with backing from the BOT, donors, and fanbase. None of which SLU has nor has had in my lifetime. That must change, otherwise we'll be stuck in mediocrity forever.
