The pandemic makes it harder to tell which programs are really trying to step up and which are maybe seeing an opportunity to cut what is often the highest salary in the entire school. Hopefully GMU is the former.

This is a case for keeping the A10 tournament at Barclays, where a good number of alumni show up (including some heavy hitters) and May and Pestello have events and networking. But the average regular season game at Rose Hill gets maybe 40 or 50 away alums (or at least it feels that way), most of whom are relatively recent grads (e.g. not cutting big checks). In my experience at Rose Hill the away fans are proportional to the overall fans. In other words, there aren't many of them.

I get the poster's frustration with LaSalle not being competitive in the A10, but that rationale and those proposals make zero sense. No reason to reinvent the wheel when numerous examples of the exact conference profile they're looking to build already exist, whether that's the CAA, MAAC, America East or Patriot. Maybe leave with Fordham as a package deal to move one of those conferences from 10 to 12 members (although the MAAC currently has 11, a perfect fit!), but there's no need (or interest in) an insurrection.

Pretty sure there are 3 NIT-related banners: One showing all of our appearances, one for our three "NIT Final Four" appearances ('61, '89, '90), and one for our NIT championship ('48).

Between the senior leadership, the chip on their shoulder, the two weeks to heal, and Coach Ford's unfinished A10/NIT business rom '08 this NIT's gonna be fun. Hoping we face Miss. St. (obviously) > Toledo > Ole Miss (nice to eliminate both of a state's flagship universities and continue our dominance over the SEC) > Memphis (start stoking the fire now for what hopefully becomes a perennial pre-season rivalry game starting this fall).

I don't think Duke is interested. Their AD said a few days ago that their season was over, then walked that back a bit in regards to an NCAA bid. But I think that was the only thing would have potentially kept their 2021 season alive - even though they haven't officially joined this latest flood of announcements.

Not a lot of love/mentions of Linssen on this thread yet (or Jimmy Bell for that matter). But Linssen will be a big contributor to any success we have next year. Okoro may fit more directly into the French roll, but having the depth and different look that Linssen brings is an important asset.

Possible this could hurt Drake more than it helps them? I agree with everything you just said and imagine the committee will think the same. Drake needs every opportunity they have to prove they belong. Sure, UNI wouldn't be a huge win, but it's one less opportunity for them to pad their really thin resume.
