  1. The line about staying home at Illinois and cementing a legacy made me laugh. He lives closer to SLU by 2 and half hours. I get they were referring to the state, but it still was a funny line.
  2. Seeing some speculation on Twitter, from Roy Schmidt and others, that Goodwin probably commits before that October 23rd date. Some, albeit regular fans, are saying as soon as this week after JG tweeted about something coming soon. Pure speculation to be sure, but perhaps something is coming soon.
  3. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/four-star-jordan-goodwin-talks-top-seven Talks a bit about his recruitment. Pertaining to SLU, says Travis Ford and his experience with similar guards, such as Marcus Smart, is something that stands out. The reporter chose to focus mainly on Mizzou and Illinois, so it was hard to discern if those are his top two schools and not the reporter assuming that.
  4. Goodwin just tweeted out his top 7. Northwestern, Illinois, Butler, Missouri, Alabama, Creighton, and SLU.
  5. I'd slap this on the Mount Rushmore of responses.
  6. Based on the recent recruiting success of Groce, I don't think Illinois is going to boot him before the big names get to campus.

  8. Pulisic will be something special in a few years. Him seeing the pitch was more for him than anything else. He isn't ready yet to be a force on the global stage, but he should be one day. Borussia Dortmund is one of the finest clubs in the world and his development there will be in good hands. He isn't there yet, but one day I would expect him to be something special.
  9. Truthfully, no lineup yesterday would have won that game for the US. Perhaps starting a bit more speed keeps it a little closer, but the fact is that Argentina was a vastly superior team and has the best player in the world, Leo Messi.
  10. Would love to know the timetable on this once it gets underway.
  11. If we can get development from one guy at the 5 spot, 2017 could be a very nice year in Midtown. Absolutely loving the talent Ford is bringing in. Let the kool-aid flow!
  12. That is interesting. I'd assume SLU is on his short list for this new recruitment. Regardless this is kind of odd.
  13. Moolah does exist, but Moolah Monday's hasn't been a promotion in my time on campus. I think 4 years ago is when they last did it regularly, but I am not certain.
  14. Yes the same group owns Cathedral Square, Diablitos, Cafe Ventana on forest park, Moonshine Blues Bar, Hendrick's BBQ, and Sanctuaria Wild Tapas according to the website. I only knew of the first three off the top of my head as Cafe Ventana or Diablitos has some coupon with the logos on it.
  15. In the restaurant space of Coronado now there is a place called Mi Caribe that has a Friday happy hour in the afternoon I believe. But other than that it is a restaurant and not much of a bar.
  16. Pistol I am not meaning to cry woe is me for this. I know little of lacledes or what the landscape of nightlife looked like before my time here. But what I infer from older friends and people here is that there were places that more people congregated at. There are more options near campus now to be sure, but in terms of places students actually go to, they are more so in soulard. Library Annex and Humps are about it for bars close to campus as far as places that students actually go to. In the case of Humps, aside from Wednesday there aren't many students there. That is the kind of option I am saying that doesn't really exist.
  17. Being a student here now is some slim pickings, I will say that much.
  18. It will be interesting to see what happens with the new owners that is for sure. It is a fantastic location for a college bar, they just need to figure out ways to get people in there on a nightly basis. Easier said than done, to be sure.
  19. Matthews is an interesting name for sure. Csnt exactly remember who he was looking at out of St. Rita, but he has a brother at UIC who is the Flames best player and I recall they really enjoyed playing together. Obviously doesn't mean much but could see him looking there for starters.
  20. I've heard the same thing that it was to remain a bar from a couple employees, both current and former. Supposedly that was the desire of the owner, but who knows for sure.
  21. While some of the MSU people on Twitter seemed to be fine with him leaving, as he didn't produce much there, this is someone who I would love to see in a SLU uniform. His high school highlights are quite impressive, showing him dunk over quite a few unlucky players. While athleticism doesn't always translate to great production (ie: AY) he would be a good fit to pair with the other transfers coming in. Having 3 guys come in who have played at higher levels, and in the case of Foreman and Henriquez have played to a degree of success, would be a tremendous benefit in 2017 and in practice this season. Would love to see Ford close the deal.
  22. http://theadvocate.com/sports/latestsports/15692923-123/university-high-basketball-player-jalen-johnson-commits-to-st-louis-university Just saw this write up about him committing. One interesting thing is that he has a torn ACL in his past. Might explain a little lack of explosiveness but I could be guessing there.
  23. Based on the fact there are still more guys to come in I would bet we will see some shuffling of the roster. Whether it be a return to walk-on for AH or a tranfer after finals, it just doesn't feel like this is the final group for 2016.
  24. https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/727952480215158786 Another transfer to visit.
