Im not sure if he is kidding around, but it seems like at least some of the administration is seeing what we see.

According to the 2016 SLU Profile last year's freshman class was 1,618 out of 13,216 applications. They do not yet have numbers for this year's freshman. http://www.slu.edu/Documents/SLU_Profile.pdf is where I found some of these numbers.

I don't know if I would classify the two new dorms as a good or bad investment at this juncture. I would say that they are necessary due to the changing landscape of university housing on a national level. In ten years, maybe less, the traditional dorm experience will be largely extinct. Student housing amenities is a large selling point for incoming students. As a current junior with a sibling who is a freshman here, I can tell you that people do weigh the living facilities greatly when so much is being paid for an education. These investments probably lean towards good, but in the grand scheme of things will probably prove to be a wash compared to competitors.

Well they finished second, by 1 single point, in La Liga last year to Barcelona. FCB was firing on all cylinders and has the best player in the world, plus Neymar and Suarez who are great players in their own right. Real won Champions League as well so I think they are just fine. P.S. I would hope they aren't paying in pounds since they are in the EU and use a different currency.

Marcus Bartley transferring

I'm not sure if he would leave, but classes don't begin until Monday so before then, anything is fair game it would seem. -
This news coinciding with moving back to campus for the semester has me excited for the next two years. Let the kool-aid flow in Midtown.

Saw on Twitter someone suggest that Goodwin could have similar impact to VanVleet at WSU. If he makes that impact, this is absolutely huge for the Bills.
-
He should read the story where Goodwin said he was leaning towards SLU anyways before Tate was hired.
-
An Illinois "insider" who replies to Goodwin stuff from Schmidt keeps calling us $LU and using a multiple dollar signs when referring to why his recruitment changed. The dellusion is sad.
-
Frank saying to watch JG's Twitter at 1 is raising my excitement level to new levels.
-
https://twitter.com/prepbullseye/status/763835237084176384 Roy saying sources are biased regarding Goodwin when most of his stuff has an Illini slant to it. Hmm. Edit: The text since I can't figure out how to embed on mobile. "At the present time, why should I believe the Jordan Goodwin talk is anything other than hearsay? MORE IN A MOMENT..."

The responses already from U of I fans are incredible. If Goodwin commits to SLU there might be a meltdown.
-
This thread is increasingly shifting towards confidence we will land Goodwin. Tatum last year showed me to never be too excited until the words come out of the recruit's mouth. The expert predictions are nice, but I'm not sold yet.

The line about staying home at Illinois and cementing a legacy made me laugh. He lives closer to SLU by 2 and half hours. I get they were referring to the state, but it still was a funny line.

Seeing some speculation on Twitter, from Roy Schmidt and others, that Goodwin probably commits before that October 23rd date. Some, albeit regular fans, are saying as soon as this week after JG tweeted about something coming soon. Pure speculation to be sure, but perhaps something is coming soon.

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/four-star-jordan-goodwin-talks-top-seven Talks a bit about his recruitment. Pertaining to SLU, says Travis Ford and his experience with similar guards, such as Marcus Smart, is something that stands out. The reporter chose to focus mainly on Mizzou and Illinois, so it was hard to discern if those are his top two schools and not the reporter assuming that.

Goodwin just tweeted out his top 7. Northwestern, Illinois, Butler, Missouri, Alabama, Creighton, and SLU.
-
I'd slap this on the Mount Rushmore of responses.
-
Based on the recent recruiting success of Groce, I don't think Illinois is going to boot him before the big names get to campus.

Pulisic will be something special in a few years. Him seeing the pitch was more for him than anything else. He isn't ready yet to be a force on the global stage, but he should be one day. Borussia Dortmund is one of the finest clubs in the world and his development there will be in good hands. He isn't there yet, but one day I would expect him to be something special.

Truthfully, no lineup yesterday would have won that game for the US. Perhaps starting a bit more speed keeps it a little closer, but the fact is that Argentina was a vastly superior team and has the best player in the world, Leo Messi.
-
Would love to know the timetable on this once it gets underway.

If we can get development from one guy at the 5 spot, 2017 could be a very nice year in Midtown. Absolutely loving the talent Ford is bringing in. Let the kool-aid flow!

That is interesting. I'd assume SLU is on his short list for this new recruitment. Regardless this is kind of odd.
