  1. Think Sam is plugged in decently on this with Webster connection.
  2. In the podcast yesterday, Matt Norlander said that UConn won't get rid of football because it already makes money for the University so that should only increase the revenue from it.
  3. That doesn't make sense to me though because why would they want that? It would make more sense for them to just say no to SLU. If you let SLU in, they should want SLU to be successful because that helps everybody in the conference. An automatic W is great until it doesn't do anything to help you get into the tournament and could hurt if you lose. Plus it brings down the entire conference NET or RPI. That just seems like a lose lose to both SLU and the Big East. I get initially being a junior because they get the additional money but not to commit to a length of time just doesn't make sense to me. We should make them want us and a lot of that in my mind is up to Dr. P and especially somebody like Dr. Chaifetz showing that they are willing and have put money towards the athletics currently to do what it takes to be successful. That is part of the junior status, we would have to be able to show we have money to survive those 5 years or whatever and still be competitive and then we can get our share of the revenue.
  4. I absolutely agree with Gary. Make it happen Dr. Chaifetz!
  5. Listening to Danny Mac podcast, Ford said he was with Tom Izzo last night so looks like he was watching Vashon.
  6. Glad to see Moy-stradamus is back.
  7. Man this place is so depressing on bad nights. Was this a bad loss? No question but have to remember we only have 4 returning players from last year. There will be bumps along the way, Ford said that nonstop before the season. I also don't think having Isabel keep running the offense is the best. Thatch has been getting better, need to get Jacobs more time and more chances to run the offense. Coaches are high on him. I think Ford has done a great job the last two years getting the most out of a team that has continued to improve through the year. We still have some good games left with Oregon State and Florida State. Let's win them both.
  8. The KC article was written by Alex Schiffer. Typical Mizzou J school graduate who claims they cover the team without being a fan yet every article comes across as a fan blog. Just like every article or tweet BenFred has put out on Dru Smith not being eligible this year, pure fan point of view.
  9. I wouldn't be shocked to hear more from SLU law professor John Ammann if it passes tomorrow in the coming weeks about him trying to sue again to stop it until a vote can happen.
  10. Pistol talked about this. He reclassified his freshmen year so technically is a 5th year kid so isn't eligible for the varsity team. They still play good teams he said. Sure he can elaborate more but here is what he said earlier.
  11. I will be interested to see what recruits will be there this Saturday. Sounds like it is close to a sell out right now so would be a great one to get some of the local kids to the game. I could see the Mehlville trio making it.
  12. Looks like Chris May is at the hearing today for the MLS.
  13. Ford said on the podcast with Danny Mac yesterday that he has about half of his offense packages implemented this year as he did at this time last year and does plan on cutting some out to improve the flow.
  14. I agree with this but I would also think you can be much more consistent shooting underhanded. It is a more natural position with your arms hanging lower compared to having your arms above your body. Plus when you are tired, it is easy to keep the same form when your arms are just hanging as that is a more relaxed position. Can also have a softer shot too which can allow for more margin for error.
  15. This is the main point of Malcolm Gladwell's podcast. Wilt Chamberlain tried it during 61-62 season and increased his percentage with it being the only year he shot over 60% including the 100 point game where he made 28 of 32 but then didn't go back to it next season. Wrote in his autobiography that he felt like a sissy and knows he was wrong but couldn't do it. Shaq said to Rick Barry when he tried to teach him that he would rather shoot 0% then shoot underhand. They even went to Columbia's women's team and nobody wanted to shoot underhand.
  16. Have people here listened to the Malcolm Gladwell podcast on shooting underhand? It is a good one. Even Shaq said he would rather shoot 0% then shoot underhand for the season. Rick Barry is right, it is more embarrassing missing then shooting underhand.
  17. Yea wasn't doubting him, just surprised SLU didn't tweet out anything when they received the LOI. I just want to make sure before I buy my Perki(n)s Power tshirt.
  18. He signed with SLU? Not doubting you but just surprised SLU didn't tweet anything out. Unless he wants to make an announcement somehow? Once he signs Ford and the school can talk about him so would like to hear more.
  19. Don't remember exactly what our Kenpom was before this but pretty positive it was lower 70s and now we are 77. So yea not much of a hit.
