  1. Correct, we can wish and we can pine for the Big East but we are not going in until we are invited in. Who knows when that will happen?
  2. As far as I am concerned he can call us mid major any time he wants, as long as he follows up with a nice summary of how good we really are. The label is just a label.
  3. SLU72 we are not going to stay anywhere in hte rankings unless unless we go out and play. No need to be scared about tonight, we will most likely win this one, and the next 6 as well.
  4. Taj, the stats for last night's VCU / GW game show Reddic had 9 FG attempts (made 3, 33.33%), and 5 FT attempts (made 3, 60%). Overall (combining FG and FT attempts) he shot 14 times 5 of which were FT attempts or 37.41% of all attempts were from the line.
  5. VCU appears to have has a night off in the scoring department, they shot 68 FG attempts and only made 25 (36.8%), GW made 53.6% of their FG attempts.
  6. Whatever happens the only certain thing is that we will be there to witness it, whatever it is that happens.
  7. Oh, I think Crews is very very good as a coach and as a recruiter. I also think we are going to suffer a hit in our standings next year with the departure of so many Seniors, but we may not if the Freshman class turns out to be as good as I think they are.
  8. The first published point spread for tomorrow's game against St. Bonaventure (from BetOnline) as published in Team Rankings is -11.5 favoring SLU. Team rankings has us as favorites with 4 out of 5 stars confidence level.
  9. Thank you for the info davidnark
  10. They are right smack in the middle of DC, there is no real campus in GW only buildings and city streets, and the White House is not far away. The other DC Universities have campuses, not GW.
  11. Hello Taj79, two reasons why I would like to see both Lancona and Agbeko play before the end of the season: 1) If the trend in fouls continues, they may need to come in if Loe or Manning, or both, foul out, at least I would like to see them able to come in, as you say as firemen. 2) If these kids do not get more playing time we may well be in rough shape next year. I would much prefer seeing them in play, for at least a few minutes per game. I really do not expect miracles from Lancona or Agbeko but I believe we have enough strength to be able to spare them a few minutes per game for the sake of improving their play for next year, that is, if their injuries allow them to play safely. In other words, I think we have superb defense, good but occasionally mediocre offense and enough depth to get us through most of the conference play schedule. Future conference wins depend upon SLU being able to shoot and score reasonably well, no more injuries, and minimizing having players fouling out of play. I do not think we need Lancona or Agbeko right now, but would like to see them getting close to their potential in play.
  12. Please check the Timmermann article "SLU - Dayton afterthoughts" available in this message board. He is expressing what I had posted before, quoting Sagarin this time, he figures there is no serious opposition to SLU until we reach the game against VCU, and gives his reasons for this. These reasons are very close to what I have been posting here, SLU being a defensive team is able to stop offensive minded teams, etc... See the article, at least he part until he starts the small talk about his trip to Dayton. Very interesting. Team Ranking gives us 4 out of 5 stars of confidence to win against St. Bonaventure at this time. If we win all of these games before the VCU game we will have a 16 win string going into the tough part of the schedule. Let's hope Lancona's knee is healed by then and that whatever is going on with Reggie has also been solved.
  13. Sorry my misinterpretation.
  14. Yes, I know. I won't be able to be there either, but I will try to watch it on TV
  15. This is incorrect, we have won 6 non neutral site away games: SIUE, Southern Illinois, Valpo, Vandy, RI, and Dayton.
  16. It looks like we made it into a very select group. Now let's keep it and improve upon it, we can do it.
  17. Taj I agree we have to take every game seriously. What I intended to say is that Bonnie relies in offense to win in contrast with us who rely on defense. I think that, as long as we are scoring reasonably well, we will have a very good chance of beating Bonnie at the Chaifetz.
  18. Dayton and St. Bonaventure are teams that rely on their offensive. UMass is also a primarily offensive team with decent defense. As long as we (SLU) do not have a game where our scoring is off, we can beat them. The one that I am pretty sure will be pretty difficult to beat is UMass.
  19. We are #19 in CBS power rankings.
  20. Mizzou is #42 in TeamRankings, we are now #20, UMass #18, Dayton #48, that is as of today in the morning. Their rankings change rapidly
  21. Well, what can I say, my wishes came pretty much true, not to the extent I posted them but clearly good enough. This was one very fine game and one very fine day.
  22. Team rankings favoring Dayton this morning with a -2 point spread. I believe they are a toss up that could go either way depending on how the SLU team is scoring at the game today. Let's hope they (SLU) are having one great day for scoring today.
