The week they were ranked they lost to Illinois state and methdale. The main reason they didn't make the tourney. And he plays a high octane outscore the other guys game. That has never worked at SLU. Ford tried it...

What about his defense? SLU has never succeeded without a defense first coach and team. Schertz wants to score all day but his teams don't guard hence some of their crap losses this year. We need a D first coach

This is shaping up to be the worst tourney in years after one of the best last year. More chalk then in a classroom. All 1s and 2s are going to make sweet 16. Horrible coaching and execution killed chances for Oakland and GCU. James madison knocked out because duke had their best shooting game in a decade. Not much left to root for.

Exactly. I mean Josh had a nice season at I-State. Probably should've been in the tournament. But I mean hes a valley coach with no resume. Heck if we wanna poach the valley get Jacobson...the guy we should've hired when we got Ford. He owns a tourney victory over KU

Heard on the radio today that Blake Ahearn wants the job. He's got recruiting ties all over and Popovich says hes ready to be an NBA head coach. Might be a good idea to call him. At 39 he would stay for a while

I agree. They could pass us in hoops if they spend money on it. But I don't get killing gymnastics. That was a huge program and they actually got some revenue out of it. The others are not shocking

If not for Jimmerson (and thanks for the 0 points...) it would've looked like a 1950s game. All white team vs all black team. And the white guys who as someone said never even have touched a barbell blew us out. This isn't Davidson of old and this team isn't good. But we made them look great. This is beyond sad now

Hire him....back up the brinks truck. Samford is the most exciting team in hoops. He's running things like Paul Westhead at LMU back in the day.

The man we should be after is Bucky McMillan. He turned Samford around in barely a year. Right now they are riding the nations longest win streak. At only 40 you could bring him in and build a program for years.

It was a great win because Jimmer went nuts. Sadly he can't do this regularly. And as usual our defense is bad playing games in the 80s. Im happy for the players. Ford got lucky of course.

This is very true. I was skeptical when he was hired. Many talking heads questioned it, particularly Slaten and Charlie Tuna
