  1. I think both will be very good before their careers are over. Wouldn't be surprised to see either one of them (but probably not both) to get 10-15 minutes a game this year.
  2. I agree. From what I've heard, we should expect around 15-20 minutes out of Carter. Sounds like we should see a lot of 3 guard sets this year with Dwayne maybe playing a little more at the 4 again.
  3. From what I've heard, we should expect Keith Carter to get some playing time this year.
  4. just like those 5 star studs that the washington fans came on here and bragged about last year. (not sure if you were being sarcastic or not. sorry either way)
  5. Stanford will be a better game than New Mexico and Washington in my opinion. They're the defending NIT Champs. Predicted by most to finish behind Arizona and UCLA in the Pac 12. Washington lost a couple guys to the draft. New Mexico just won't be as good.
  6. VCU can contend with the top of the league and I wouldn't be surprised to see them even win the conference. They are a very good team. I think the bigger adjustment for them is having consistent tougher games throughout conference play. The CAA is a good conference but teams like Dayton, La Salle, or Richmond will be finishing 8th or 9th this year and they are a heck of a lot better than the 8th or 9th place teams from the CAA. VCU and Butler could beat anyone in the conference but you won't get away with not bringing your top game night in and night out like you maybe could have in the CAA and definitely could have in the Horizon.
  7. Cowboy, For some reason couldn't reply directly to your post from my phone but I agree on that and thought of that just after I posted it.
  8. I could be wrong here but I don't think Ben would be upset about one of us stating who. We are recruiting. The process and invterviews with the recruits is premium content but there are a lot of websites that say who we are recruiting. I can ask Ben about that and maybe he can come on here or one of us can post some of our 2013 targets. He might say no but maybe that could be a little compromise. The assistant coaching thing is a whole different scenario than recruiting targets and stuff like that. Also I know that the post that Ben had about keeping the information private is a clause that is required by scout.com. so even if Ben doesn't think the information should have to be private, his employer says it does so he doesn't really have much of a choice. Also I think you get a 7 day free trial. You'll have to put your credit card in but if you really wanted, you could cancel your subscription right before the free trial ends.
  9. This is a post from billikenreport.com from January "Just a reminder, please keep all premium content on these boards. I work very hard to maintain my work and sources and give you the best that I can. In return, I ask that the premium content stay within this community. If there are instances in which it has been placed on other boards, then I'll have to stop posting such information. Thank You, Ben" Let's just give it up and not debate about it anymore.
  10. Ben asked us not to share the information and he's provided a great service to us so I don't think anyone is going to give the information away. Everyone will find out the coaching news soon enough. Let's get a different thread going. Talk about our expectations for players or something that we can just have an opinionated view on so that we don't have to have exclusive information to have a thread.
  11. I have no problem with people who don't want to spend the money. We all find value in whatever we want so if someone else doesn't think the information is worth it it's fine. Yeah I don't know about paying bills, etc but to me I would rather subscribe to this website than get a beer at a game or eat McDonals or whatever. If someone else doesn't want to, that's perfectly fine, but if you don't subscribe, then I don't think people should complain about not being able to have the information. I don't care if itss legal or whatever to share the information, Ben asked us not to share it so I'm going to follow that. I would suggest signing up for a month and seeing if you like it. If the site doesn't interest you at all, don't do it then (just like if a movie doesn't interest you, you won't see it). Maybe then you'll decide if a membership to the site has more value than a beer or whatever else. I guess the way I feel is that I'm paying for this information and I don't want people who don't pay for it, to just have the information for free. Whether is should cost anything or not doesn't matter. It does cost money and some of us pay for it.
  12. Roy. First of all. Sorry for never introducing myself at one of the games. Without giving away any information, reasons that it is worth it to me in no particular order: 1. Being able to watch the players and coaches in the post game interviews is great. For us who are big billiken fans, you get a lot more out of that than what Timmerman puts in the paper. TT does a great job and I love his day after blog thing. But its interesting to hear everything that is said. 2. You hear who we are recruiting. You get quotes from that player on the recruiting process. We are looking at multiple recruits that no other website (even the main scout.com website) knows about. It would be nice for fans on here to know that so that they don't act like we aren't recruiting certain positions. 3. Not that many people talk on the board there but we get really good discussions from time to time. There are no trolls on that board and you can actually have serious discussions. Would be even better if guys like roy, 05, jbizz, alumnifan, etc got involved too. 4. Benseems to be in constant touch with the staff. He's had reports on a player or 2 recently that has made strong progress this offseason. 5. He at times has scheduling updates but he usually shares that with everyone on twitter and there hasn't been a ton of that either. 6. The coaching situation is interesting. The unique reports like that are always good. 7. He also has lots of just random stories from time time. The story on Conklin's future is good. He had a really good one on the teams academics earlier. You'd be surprised who works the hardest in the classroom according to the coaches. 8. He does previews with the scout rep from other teams before big games. Good to get 2 expert views on the games. There are more things that I can't. Think of now. Id suggest a 1 month subscription for everyone. Maybe Ben would have more stories and stuff in that month. Its yard to do now but the site (just like this site) is better during the season.
  13. You can subscribe one month at a time to the website too. He had a buy one get 2 months free deal last month too I think. In my opinion the information is worth it and he has all the post game interview videos during the season. Now may not be the best time to subscribe as recruiting rumors are dying down and the season is far away still but the information as a whole is worth it for me. It's not just recruiting news. He has stuff about the coaches and players too. Also you get some good discussions on there without all the arguing over the same topics. I like billikens.com better and I love the discussions on here, but I do think his site is good. $7.50 a month is a lot, and I might get made fun of or whatever for saying this, but if you buy one less beer at a game a month, you could use that money to pay for a subscription.
  14. It's really not that expensive ($7.50 a month) and it's pretty worth it in my opinion. Lots of good information on there right now.
  15. Had a friend put down a bet for me just last week and he got 150:1.
  16. Exactly. None of us have seen them, so we'll put our trust in the coaches and players who have raved about him.
  17. - RM wasn't there but had a taped message. He got emotional talking about Conklin and Cassity and mixed them up at one point I think. - Whitesell and Crews are both good speakers and seemed friendly. Crews was kind of funny when presenting the Harry Award to Cassity. (named after Harriman. Given to the player who is an outstanding teammate) - Both assistants stated that Harriman will be missed, but that he's taking a great opportunity. Majerus said that Harriman's son had cancer. That could have possibly played into his decision? just guessing there. - Conklin and Cassity introduced each player and said a bit about them. - Players got presented with NCAA Tournament watches - Conklin and Cassity each spoke throughout. Ramsey also interview Dwayne, Cody, Rob, and Kwamain about individual games this season. - Food was good - Thanked the fans throughout for all their support. Asked for that top support all year next year. - Conklin and Cassity both did seem to be high on Manning. They said that he will contribute next year and that he's been working hard in the offseason. - Kwamain and Conklin honored for 1000 point scorers - Conklin honored for Academic All American - Cassity stated that he thought the team would be better next year - No word on a new assistant or anything like that - Would have been cool if they had a little Q&A at the end but no big deal - Very well run. I had a good time. I think they did a good job of making the fans feel appreciated. Seems like they want to do this every year.
  18. I must have missed open practices or something because a bunch of people on here must have seen Manning play a lot to say that he's not going to contribute.
  19. +1 Between CR, JM, and GG we'll be fine in the post. CR has shown flashes. Majerus has hyped up JM. We know RM exaggerates a lot, but I'm going to believe him about JM until I actually see differently. GG was recruited by some BCS schools and decommitted from UNLV to come here so others have seen the potential in him. Then you add in RL and CE with strong perimeter games and improved post games, we're looking good. DE and possibly JD could even see some time at the 4. Out strength will always be our backcourt. We have guards who can play with almost anyone and we have some big men who create matchup problems for the defense. Also, I expect to see KM be a lot more comfortable playing again next year, and I see him taking over a lot of games as a senior. After everything he's been through, he's not gonna settle for anything less than what we acheived this past year.
  20. Well I'm never a fan of saving scholarships and NH is right that this kid seems like he'll be better than any spring signee. Also looks like he can create turnovers on the defensive end and is a solid shooter so that could be a big help. Yes we could obviously use a solid big man, but RM knows what he's doing. He knows way more about the progression of Manning and Glaze than we do and I'm sure we'll be signing at least one big guy next year with CE and CR leaving. RM wouldn't take a transfer kid if he didn't think he had a chance to contribute. We've yet to see if RM was right with JB, but this kid seems more in line with our current guards. Fast players who can score and create turnovers, but also with a solid jumpshot. No reason to get too excited or too pissed off until we actually see something out of this kid.
  21. I never had any problems with him while doing an intership with him and the athletic department last fall, but I do believe you. Regardless, Declan was one of the best guys in the athletic department and he will be missed.
  22. It would be sweet to bring Conklin or Cassity in, but doubt that would happen so soon if ever. Lisch would be even better, but he has a pretty set career. Tony Young would be a strong addition to the staff in my opinion.
