  1. I can't help you if you are claiming what is "fair" or what is not. That is fairy tale thinking. Re member the public perception goes a long way with enrollment and donations to the school. If they would have cut the investigation short and side with the players without a full investigation then they are taking a huge risk.
  2. If that is indeed true then there is a chance. However the school general counsel will still explore all legal exposure. They don't want to settle out of court if there is no reason to give up any cash. If it is a simple as everyone is saying then why wasn't this over in December? Missing piece that no one knows about and no one is leaking?
  3. I am not sure how to answer. Most times when the police get involved in the middle of the night something really bad transpired.I am not saying there is blame on both sides but everyone would have better served if basically an orgy wasn't videoed in the middle of the night on school property.
  4. High Horse? I figure you are joking. The very first post of this thread says the "Saint Louis Police Department informed".... whatever it was. The original claim spoke of sexual assault and everything grew out of that. SLU cannot/will not/ would be foolish too... ignore that simple fact. That is why this has played out the way it has. I really do hope these guys play for SLU in the future (whether near future or next season). However, the way things seem to be right now, with everything being drawn out, I don't think that will happen. Believe me, I would be happy to be wrong on this!!! I am sure deep down they are good kids who made bad decisions. I am also sure SLU doesn't want to be looked upon by the community as trying to overlook questionable things going on on there own property. I don't know how many female students read this board discussion. but the ones I know who are aware of the allegations or are alum think a sexual assault went down that night. In today's world, sexual assault allegations are a point of high focus. When I read all the recent news over the last year, I conclude women are simply not going to let this kind of thing go.. That is the difference between now and say 20 - 40 years ago. This, above all other things, is why this whole mess has unfolded like it has. Is it justice? Is it UNfair to the accused? Maybe not... at least you can make an argument that it isn't. However this is the lay of land in this era. These high-profile student athletes have to know they are held to a higher standard and when something questionable happens, they basically have a target hanging around their necks. They have to decide if it is worth a scholarship education. Like I said, I hope this is resolved soon so the boys can put this behind them.
  5. I am not sure what you are talking about... The police are involved. There is an investigation open which could easily lead to lawsuit. Your comment about blaming a culture to claim sexual assault due to regret? Could be true but wishful thinking. I am addressing the legal exposure the university has because of this mess. This could have been avoided by the kids keeping it their pants. I wish somebody, anybody, would tell those guys that this stuff isn't swept under the rug as easily as it was in the past. Oh well! Wishful thinking -vs- reality... reality wins everytime.
  6. I don't expect these players to play for SLU ever again. I may be a little pessimistic but the university will protect itself legally first and foremost. This should not surprise anyone really. Who to blame for this?? First the players for putting themselves in this situation. I guess when the adult beverages get consumed in excess then good judgement is the first thing to go. 2nd I blame the process for dragging it out. I hope I am wrong about this but I fear I am not. They only way it could possible come out good for the players if a piece of overwhelming evidence puts them in the clear. Of course if that existed this would not have gone on this long. I will continue to support the program. It is not the program's fault, not the coaches, and certainly not the other players doing what they can this season.
  7. Well, I sure hope not. The plan said "season tickets". Maybe it was for past season ticket holders only and new guys have to pay more.
  8. I renewed mine. It went down to $99 a ticket which was a significant price break. I hope it doesn't mean less home games??!?!?!
  9. This doesn't smell true, ring true, sound true, or anything sounding true. Let's pretend for moment those things were said. A kid saying that he would come to St.Louis if you bring my buddy with me. Sounds like something a kid would say when he had no intention of coming anyway. Making an offer that no self-respecting coach would ever accept. What is Crews would have accepted that and the point guard wasn't up to division 1 level and benched him or decided that he didn't deserve this scholarship the next year? Does Tatum automatically leave the program as well? I don't see a head basketball coach putting himself in that position. Especially a coach that has been coaching as long as Crews had. I also don't believe a high-level recruit would be advised to even ask that question in the first place unless he's a total dummy. I certainly don't think Coach K would put up with that either.
  10. Damn, I was just pointing out that Glaze performed very good to conclude his career. How did this turn into a Jolly discussion? =-(
  11. Would rather had Jolly? Glaze pulled down boards and even scored points. Several double-doubles while at SLU. Glaze was a far more aggresive on the boards than Jolly ever was or could be.
  12. Saw the Tweet and wanted to share. Angela Lento ‎@collegeinsider Grand Canyon's Grandy Glaze is the 2016 Riley Wallace Award winner http://www.wallaceallamerica.com/ Grand Canyon lost the CIT Championship game but Glaze finished his career with a double-double. I always liked his effort and enthusiasm. Good for him!
  13. I like it when he plays well and gets his double-doubles.
  14. I remember several years ago when Brian C was a freshman, he would get the same brutal treatment. He would miss quite a few bunnies and sometimes seemed lost on the court. He worked hard, bulked up and by the time he was a senior he was a force to be reckoned with. Hopefully Jolly will continue to develop. I like his energy. He behaves like he wants to be out there. Seems to have more energy than Austin G most of the time. ( I want him to get in the weight room as well!) This board has been hard on Crews lately. It is hard to believe that just not long ago I would see so much praise for him when he won coach of the year. For all those out there like me who played the game and understand the ups and downs, just ignore the undisciplined/amateur garbage on this board and stay true to course. Go Billikens!!
  15. Isn't really a fair comparison for one reason. The only one that matters. The 2010 squad had the core of the team torn apart before the season started. The freshman at that point had been thrown into the fire an it was not planned that way. I suppose that paid benefits later on. This squad with all the freshman was expected so I think they are doing much better because of that. Keith Carter's transfer probably put a kink in coach's plan but the damage is contained more or less.
  16. Next season the Billikens will be competitive but this will be a season for developing talent. And the most definitely have talent on the roster for next year. It will be interesting to watch!
  17. This is the game I expected the Bills would lose. Unfortunately the Dukes was not the outcome I expected.
  18. Appears a few other top 25 teams lost tonight. Maybe it is in the air!
  19. This wasn't hard to predict. Just look at Denver schedule and results. They score some points but they give up a lot as well. If Manning can't move the ball against L. O. B. , The result was inevitable.
