  1. And given the following video evidence submitted to the SLU Title IX team, at least one of the violations occurred at the Fetz. How appropriate. The unicycle is screwed.
  2. I think you're right. Welcome back Stormy. The "Women's March" banner picture on the new account is a dead giveaway.
  3. Do you think they are all sitting around a table trying to think of what to do next and someone raises their hand and issues the famous adage..."Hey, I have an idea. Someone hold my beer and watch this!!"
  4. Have thought this would be administration's strategy from the day the decision was made to suspend game playing privileges. But that said, if we take the basketball aspect out of the picture and accept that SLU's Title IX process is the Gold Standard, how many other cases have they employed the attrition strategy? Surely as the Gold Standard they have documented cases that demonstrate best practices so that other institutions have a baseline for handling their own Title IX investigations.
  5. He also was listed as the Clippers’ player of the game on the CBS Sports App game review. Keep grindin’ Willie!!
  6. But this is the SLU administration we're talking about. They are capable of anything...illogical behavior the norm. As a result, I'm not holding my breath until a final verdict is rendered and communicated.
  7. As I believe has been stated previously, by imposing the player suspensions the University removed any sense of urgency to resolve the situation expeditiously and set this up to potentially drag on indefinitely. Had the players, who to this point haven't been found guilty of ANYTHING been allowed to play, I believe the plaintiff(s) would have been clamoring for a decision ASAP (in an effort to keep them from playing) which would have resulted in one being made weeks, if not months, ago. I also believe that SLU hoped that by dragging this out that the affected players would have found the impact to them untenable and resulted in them voluntarily leaving school/transferring by the semester break. This would have provided SLU an "easy" out (i.e. point the finger at the players and move on OR make no decision at all because one isn't necessary since the players are gone). But that didn't happen, and with the players still committed to the team and SLU, the University is now faced with continuing the "process" as we start the new year/semester.
  8. Agree. I think the statement was a good opening salvo given that there has been NOTHING said about the investigation in over 2 months. If it doesn't grease the skids and elicit some sort of response, I wouldn't be surprised if the next shot addresses the lack of communication, updates, timeline expectations, etc.
  9. If that's the case, then I don't know why SLU would suddenly decide to release the evidence because one of the sides expressed frustration. Assuming they've had it and been sitting on it for quite some time now, not sure how releasing it helps the process along...unless of course providing it justifies the investigation duration (i.e. interpreting it is virtually impossible because it's grainy from being shot in poor lighting with an antiquated camera, thereby making it impossible to determine who was involved and what took place without help from FBI and CIA forensics).
  10. I'm also a bit perplexed by the statement's opening sentence. Makes it sound like the players and their representation have tried to wait out the Title IX investigation, but weren't provided all of the evidence (i.e. exhibits and videos) until they expressed frustration with the investigation duration. Shouldn't they have had access to all of the evidence from the beginning? Or are all involved parties not necessarily entitled to everything being considered as part of a Title IX investigation?
  11. JG is helping with the Althoff basketball camp this week, but will also be helping with the SLU Camps in June. He also is super excited about the upcoming Bills season, and like the rest of us, thinks the team will be much improved over the past 3 seasons.
  12. Heard the other day that Kwam will likely be helping with the SLU basketball camps again this summer. Given that most former players move on to normal careers and lives after their time at the university is over, it's great that he's in a situation that allows him to come back and still be a part of Billiken athletics.
  13. It's definitely a sad state when the tactics I've historically had to employ to get through a women's game are now being recommended to get through a men's game. That said, given the early success of the Billi-women there was talk last night in my group about making a concerted effort to attend more of their games this year...so we hope to see you there too!!
  14. Not surprisingly the prices for the happy hour nachos and beer have gone up as well. Discovered last night that nachos are now $2.25 and even though beer is still $2, it now comes in a 10 instead of a 12 ounce cup. On top of that the concession stand worker literally tried to hand me a cup that was 33% beer and 67% head. And then she looked at me funny when I indicated that I wouldn't accept it. Not that I'm usually one to complain about getting more head, but when it comes to my beverage at the Fetz, I want it to be mostly beer.
  15. Made it home from the game last night in time to catch the 10PM news on channel 4. While I give them credit for reporting on the game and showing highlights, I was surprised to learn that the key play in overtime was made by Reggie Egg-poo. That's right, the sportscaster said Egg-poo. I watched it several times and even had the wife confirm to ensure that it wasn't just my old ears going bad. Having heard correctly, we either have a new player or channel 4 needs to cease liaising with Gus Phillips regarding pronunciation of player names. P.S. If anyone has a way to get video of last night's Channel 4 sports report, please post for all to enjoy.
  16. For those heading to SIUE this afternoon, the following was released yesterday. Looks like they are going to do what they can to ensure the lots closest to the Vadalabene are as empty as possible prior to the influx of fans expected for tonights game. www.siue.edu/maps/map_campuscore.pdf CORRECTION: Lot F and Lot 12 will reopen at 5:30 p.m. to coincide with the gates opening at the same time. With Wednesday’s men’s basketball game between SIUE and Saint Louis already close to being sold out, SIUE Athletics announced that the Vadalabene Center will open 90 minutes before game time. Gates will be open at 5:30 p.m. at both the west entrance and the east entrance of the facility. This will be a similar experience to SIUE’s game vs. Murray State in 2012 on ESPNU, however this will be a television event (Fox Sports Midwest) during the week. Please help the University and Intercollegiate Athletics present a first-class image to more than 2,000 new guests to campus. To facilitate parking, two lots adjacent the Vadalabene Center (Lot F and Lot 12) will be closed to regular traffic starting at 2 p.m. and will reopen 90 minutes prior to the 7 p.m. tipoff. To avoid any ticket lines, buy tickets online at www.siuecougars.com or call the SIUE Athletics Ticket Office at 855-SIUE-TIX.
  17. For those interested in the SIUE game, the pre-sale for faculty/staff started yesterday. My contact was able to get me 4 tickets a few rows behind the Billiken bench. So if you know anyone who works there, give them a call.
  18. The Keith Carter video is fine, but the following Valpo media vid is probably more up jimbo's alley.
  19. If that's the case perhaps they can play this on the big screens instead:
  20. Or possibly not. Gotta love the clarity that the report provided.
  21. Check out 0:55 of the following Houston Dynamo promotional ad. Apparently the Houston Dynamo, or at least someone affiliated with them, loves the Bills.
  22. Ah....glad we haven't forgotten Art Long. Brings back fond memories of the band and student section chanting "Horse-Beater" every time he stepped to the free throw line.
  23. And regardless of the cost, being able to watch the St. Joe's Hawk mascot flap his little wings through pregame, the game, and halftime....without stopping....is worth the price of admission alone.
  24. Thanks for the link to the tuition and fee schedules. Having now glanced at them it's actually a bit surprising that there already isn't a fee of some sort that helps support the athletic department. I recall having to pay an athletic fee some 20 years ago when I attended CU-Boulder and I think SIUE hit me up for one when I took a few graduate courses there. So having it is probably more likely the he norm rather than the exception...and a good move as long as the University puts the $$ to good use to further the interest in its athletic programs. And not having to part with that coveted $10 every game might actually spur increased student attendance.
