They don't play mid major caliber defense on the block. Until SLU finds players who can the team will struggle. Gillmann right is almost useless on defense and rebounding. The same can be said for Jolly and Manning. SLU needs bigs who can bang, rebound, and are a threat to score inside. I see low mid major teams with better rebounders than SLU has. As big as Lancona is, if he made up his mind to play inside and worked hard at it, he could help the team a lot more than he does.

I officiated boys and girls high school basketball as well as women's NAIA basketball. Have you officiated anywhere before? I officiated Public League High games when Marvin Neals was coaching Soldan and Cardinal Ritter games when Julian Winfield, Chris Carrawell, Loren Woods, and Jahidi White played. Winfield played before the other three. I then officiated NAIA games. Don't ask smart ass questions if you don't have ANY information.

I did not when I officiated and I never worked with anyone who did.

If they are being recruited by SLU, evidently, either some players have notified the staff they are leaving or the staff has notified certain players their scholarships will not be renewed. That's too bad. I wonder what Lancona and Reynolds are thinking about getting so little playing time on a team as bad as SLU has been. It's one thing to sit because of seniors, but to sit because freshmen have beaten you out is probably a big blow to Lancona's confidence.

If Yarbrough had his normal game SLU would have won easily. If there are those of you who think that Roby and Crawford don't have the talent to be more than just role players I believe you are mistaken. If given the playing time they both will be aabove average players. On a team that struggles to score, Crawford should be getting at least as much time as Yacoubou, imo. Also, not counting McBroom and Manning, the rest of the players have less than one and one half years of actual playing time in minutes, not games. That includes Yacoubou.

That's the kind of thing that concerns me about him not staying and leaving to go play with better players. His frustration with his teammates seems to be growing stronger.

That could be said for a number of players. Maybe before the season is over or next season he will improve to the point where he starts finishing at the basket and hitting his free throws. If he does that he will become a good player.

AMEN! He has been the biggest disappointment to me in terms of what I expected. But that's my fault for those expectations. He misses too MANY layups AND free throws.
