  1. Which direction does this Board load for you?
  2. Weathers is a tough matchup. It was really hard last year with our post depth. Do they still have Steele, or someone equal as a replacement? Last year, this was the only team that matched us in rebounding and could beat us in the post, which kind of negated our advantages. We are a much different team than we were last year. It is good to be worried. However, I think things will go differently from last year.
  3. Thatch can rebound, but between Gibson, Jacobs, Thatch and Hargrove we will find a way to replace some of Goodwin’s rebounding. I think Collins will become more of a scorer next year as well.
  4. Here is another fun idea. Every time he misses a FT, the team manager gets hit with a rubber bat on the bench. Something that looks worse than it is. Or the entire team has to do the chicken dance on the sideline, to humiliate them, but still is fun. I mean, In general, let’s have some fun with this.
  5. Honestly, I think he could learn any form with about 500 throws. He could get there in a few days with dedicated practice. A week at most. I do think he would benefit from changing form, even literally copying Goodwin’s form changes exactly. It would force him to get out of his own head a bit. That is also why I think a dance might be a good idea (check that, I just think it was be fun to watch).
  6. Bumping my own thread. After watching French shoot the other night, I felt like making some new suggestions. Now, these are serious, but not serious Suggestions for the next options French could take for free throws, that would at least be fun to watch: 1. He could line up some practice form. Have a Teammate hold the ball right next to him. Go through 2 or 3 practice shots, and then have the player deposit the ball into the ready position. Then start his shot. It would be like practice puts on the golf course with caddy support. 2. He could literally create a free throw dance. He could conga line from the 3 point line to the FT line, really get into the dance form, and then chuck it. Other dances welcome. 3. He could do his patented jump hooK fade-away. Face away from the basket and simply let it roll. 4. He could try to build up speed and jump towards the basket as hard as possible to shorten the distance of the FT (is this legal, and if so, why not do this?). All of his shots are basically moving anyway.
  7. Fred played 5 more minutes. In 5 minutes GJ can hang 15 points. Fred has not shown that ability yet.
  8. Ford needs to focus on gettin Jimerson Back. Thatch is a great defender, but his offense doesn’t provide the upside to equally replace GJ. I just hope Ford isn’t retrenching into a defense or bust mindset.
  9. Recovering from the first loss is the hardest game. Hopefully we come alive in the final 10.
  10. Well, I think you just found the recipe for taking our recruiting to a new level.
  11. Well, that sums it up nicely. He asked him to step away as he is about to transfer. Either he is trying to save face for himself, the program, or give Fletcher time to make a decision. That said, Fletcher shouldn’t have walked out of a game. Shame on the media for making a big deal out of this, and shame on Calipari for making it a headline with his twitter activity. I wouldn’t be surprised if more players leave after this. You really can’t burn your current players.
  12. I normally don’t enjoy reading posts of people fighting on this board, but this has been entertaining. It is like a ‘slap-fight’ in digital form. I feel like a librarian needs to show up and twist both of your ears to make it stop.
  13. Nope. I’ll take Jimerson for $2,000. He definitely had an off game. But, he is going to go 9/10 from 3 in one of the next two or three games to make up for it. The fact that Minnesota had to basically hug him at and beyond the three point line is an advantage we need to use. Drive on Jimerson’s side of the court.
  14. Also, our defense played horrible on the outside until halfway through the second half. Then they played great, but at the expense of our offense. Just a weird game.
  15. The problem with this game was that French went a little cold, 5/10, when they were clearly going at him with 1 guy. We needed to keep hitting him and Linssen inside until we forced them to commit an extra defender inside. It felt like we did not go to French enough in the second half. We wanted to dictate the game through our guards, and we failed. Perkins just wasn’t hitting, and GJ couldn’t get open. Goodwin did not catch fire from outside. I was confused down the stretch when Hargrove and Jacobs passed up on threes. I was surprised that we couldn’t get GJ open for 1 three. Just kind of a crappy game on our part. Credit goes to them. They took a new approach against us, and it worked. We now need to remind everyone that French can put up 30 points if you let him.
  16. But, what if his ass is the oracle of Thatch’s future. What then?
  17. Kill all the golfers? If I do that, they’re gonna lock me up and throw away the key. Mine: ”License to kill Gophers”
  18. Wiz, Go ahead and Create the game day thread now so we don’t miss this opportunity: “Go-pher the win“
  19. They play at Richmond tomorrow. Then their next game is at us on the 30th. That is a rough way to start A10 play.
  20. Well, I mean, the humidity might have something to say about that.
  21. Try to be a little more creative than just “Wolfpack.”
  22. Good point, that amazing drive and dish to Gibson was just obnoxious. I would hate to see him destroy people off the dribble. Stay in the lane you shockingly fast, agile, and quick center. Don’t develop skill sets that a traditional center can’t compete with. Basketball was perfected in 1940, and that is it!!! (blue font)
