I don’t want to get into Covid vs Flu but if people had the flu they should quarantine too. This is something that should have been done pre Covid.
There is no reason to go to work or school or any social gathering when you are sick and spread it around to everybody else.

I know it is kind of a badge of honor to work through illness but it’s isn’t smart and it puts other people at risk.

If you are sick and it is contagious stay at home. It doesn’t matter what the illness is.

Need to just get back to (or maybe for the first time) common sense. If you are sick, stay home from work, school, sporting events, etc until you are in the clear. Doesn’t matter if it’s cold, Covid, flu, whatever. At this point, with vaccines, treatments, and enough history, people should be able to assess their own risk and mitigate as appropriate without hysteria.

  2. Slu still in small time mode here. Can’t put this on the city. The city has no say in how often testing occurs. Testing vaccinated asymptomatic people is silly and if you’re in a jurisdiction with strict protocols once a positive appears it’s completely insane. This gives the appearance that there is no difference in treatment regardless of vaccination status which just gives ammo for folks to question recent vax requirements.

Seems like someone at Slu, likely Freddy, has gone off the deep end regarding Covid with the mid season vax requirement and now a booster requirement for all students when most of the country including the messaging from the federal government is moving on.

been a long time since I posted, season tickets holder…

these are some epic chokes this year, sure…but is anyone else still concerned about how jimmerson just has an insane ability to just completely vanish?  i’d have to dig around, but he has been a ghost in some major games.  now that he is basically, i guess, our end game scorer…how do we win these games with him as our guy?  6 shots tonight. 2 airballs. early…and when we needed a bucket, he just looks like a guy who wants nothing to do with that pressure.

This is because jimerson isn’t quick enough to keep up with high major D1 athletes. There is a reason he isn’t playing at Duke a la JJ Redick and it isn’t because he is too short or can’t shoot. Shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone at this point and I thought he played a solid game tonight.

I couldn’t disagree more. Okoro was fine. It was his 1st real game in 2 years. Chill. If anything Traore’s effort tonight makes me feel even better about our frontcourt depth. If you were expecting a finished product tonight, your expectations were WAY TOO HIGH!

This. Traore is an A10 caliber big and that was a pleasant surprise. Hot take alert, but I’d take him over Bell right now.

Justin Love and Kevin Lisch could shoot.  There's a place for Goodwin and French overseas but I don't know of too many Bully Ballers making big bank there.  French is who he is but Goodwin's jump shot is not that far away.

This is why it would not surprise me to see Goodwin come back. He is on the cusp of being able to make big money playing basketball if he can take one more step forward. French is who is and who he has been the past 4 years, so he may as well go start cashing checks.

Does anyone has any doubt that Covid was the factor that spoiled our chances this season?

I think it’s certainly possible that we were never as good as we thought we were. Yes, LSU was a good win but it was also a home game that went down to the wire. NCST was not a good team and that was being touted as one of our good wins. It was a name win, but not a good win. Minnesota was playing well at home when we played them but that was a missed opportunity. We seemed to keep our computer metrics up by beating inferior teams to a pulp. Even ignoring the two COVID games, we were not world beaters in the A-10. Needed a minor miracle to get that top 4 bye.

Objectively, COVID robbed us of a full season and our original schedule which would have given us a much better understanding of how good this team really was. Now, we will never know. I think it’s possible that without the COVID pause we would’ve had our usual Jan/Feb uptick in performance and became a true top 25 team, but it’s also possible we were just a top 50 team all along.
