  1. We’ve heard for about a decade now that the MLS wants St. Louis. It would be such a shame to miss out now. The city really f****d itself with the vote against the stadium last time.
  2. Isabell (no e) is going to play a ton. No doubt about it. He will score a lot as well.
  3. SLU’s rise to basketball prominence will coincide with the Bulls’ continued mediocrity!
  4. Cincinnati is the only city on your list of comparable size to STL and there is already a team in Cleveland which probably rules it out. It’s just as easy to throw out Marquette, Butler, ‘Nova, Georgetown, etc. Milwaukee and Indy would probably be better comparisons than Philly or DC but the point remains... both can thrive.
  5. I don’t see how anything that gets people excited about basketball in STL is bad for our program. And make no mistake, an NBA team would excite people— especially middle and high school age males- the type we are trying to recruit. Imagine a free agent Jayson Tatum in his prime, and a veteran Brad Beal as the first two acquisitions for the team after moving to STL. People would go crazy Then assume that an NBA team wouldn’t happen any earlier than five years from now. We expect to be a perennial NCAA team by then. I don’t think people would all of a sudden stop showing up for SLU games. I’d also rather have MLS. But I think there’s room for both.
  6. Decent post for you, Ravs, but you’re wrong on one thing for sure. Even if their scoring numbers don’t show it, CAG and French are not “role players”. They’re gonna be major contributors.
  7. To be fair, those are rankings of how highly regarded the players were as recruits. It was early in my fandom, but I remember Thompson having some pretty good offers and being a fringe Top 100 type player. We hadn’t gotten a lot of those type recruits in the Before Ford Era.
  8. According to 247, our 2019 recruiting class is now ranked #41 in the nation and #1 in the A10. With scholarships remaining.
  9. Sucked that there was no 3pt contest
  10. Is it weird that I’ve watched that entire game like four times within the past year? JGood A10 POTY 2019
  11. Seems unlikely that we will fill it for this year... therefore, 2 years wasted.
  12. Santos had range to 3pt line. What are you talking about?
  13. Just say it’s not sexual assault related if that is what you mean. Your wording is awful.
  14. @GloryRavs zero chance im watching a full 15 minute video of a pro am. I watched the first five.. didn't see Wade do anything, and saw a brief Willie Reed sighting. What is the point of posting that video? We aren't recruiting wade.
  15. Yeah, what’s his vertical, 7 inches? Wingspan looks pretty poor too. Can he even dunk?
  16. Well that wasn’t really the point of the post, but you’re right. Still, before Ford, Mizzou was definitely held in higher regard (in terms of basketball) in the minds of local high school age males than SLU. I can’t prove it with data but it’s just true. It’s definitely changing now.
  17. Gotta make inroads early with the families. Important to be seen at these events to establish relationships. Don’t want these kids to think we are disrespecting them like we have disrespected Vashon for years. (Blue font)
  18. It really seems like everyone in the STL basketball scene really wants these Mehlville kids to stay home (including the kids themselves). Travis making STL kids a priority is really starting to pay off. A couple good years on the court and staying home to rep Team Blue is gonna be what all STL kids want to do, rather than heading down 70 to SPUMAC. Semi related note: does anyone know Ford’s contract status? And when can/should we offer him an extension? I can’t imagine there’s anyone who’s less than thrilled with his performance so far.
  19. @Pistol it sounds like Branson is a bit of a stretch as a SLU-level recruit. Any chance his offer is contingent on the other two committing?
  20. going along with the whole mid major/high major debate, this guy is a “contributor” for Mid Major Madness. He obviously either doesn’t consider us mid major, or doesn’t consider us a top 25 mid major team. He lists Davidson and Rhody, so I’d lean more towards him just not having a f****** clue.
