  1. Meg always throws a great party, I've been to 2 of them. I have one other question. When it was getting down to crunch time, we saw a scene from the Rocky movie that was meant to inspire the locals to win. Did you see that? It scared me that they were going to rise up and clobber us little Billikens after that time out, but they kept turning the ball over and over, so we knocked them out instead. The first Rocky movie was one of my all time favorites. It captured the south Philly scene perfectly.
  2. The internet feed did a decent job showing the game with several camera angles. It spent too much time on the dance team and very little on the spectators during breaks in the action. I didn't see any signs of any of our fans. How many would you say there were at the game, or at the reception? Way to persevere Tar Heel, you were a man on a mission yesterday.
  3. TT hit the nail on the head in his article. This years team just refused to lose down the stretch. It was not a pretty game, but we could have folded easily if we were not confident we could grind it out. My feed was great all game. At first I thought the color guy was Andy Katz, it sure sounded like him. After while his whining got funny to me, so I knew then it wasn't him. How many D-1 gyms have no seats on the ends? Tom Gola was great, he deserves better than that place. You had to admire the Explorers pretty shoes & pink shirts. We could easily win out and be a lock for the dance if we keep playing D like we are.
  4. What ??? My iMac is beautiful hi-def looking on a 21" screen. I could not be happier, unless we blow this very winnable game. Only a 3pt. halftime lead. Turn it on like you did at SJU guys.
  5. Great article up by TT about the new confidence the team has shown in the last few games, especially in hostile environs. I'm also confident about the big game tomorrow. Let's hope we get a good streaming feed.
  6. FSU = Florida or Fresno ? Not that it matters. Speculation only.
  7. That is a tribute to the "Tall Firs", the 1948 NCAA champions. It is a perspective of looking up at the trees from a clearing in the forest. Give credit to Phil Knight of Nike.
  8. I thought hawks could fly not march. It made me feel good to hear it anyway, even if they are confused.
  9. Did any of you attendees make it to McGillicuddy's in Manyunk after the game? The ad on the web said the first one is on them if you have a game ticket. It could have been dangerous if you were in blue, but everyone in red was crying into their beers. The stream was great last night. I enjoyed hearing Joe Lunardi say he was having lunch with RM today and he would buy if the Hawks won. Did the SJU pep band play our fight song several times or was our band there too? Maybe I was hearing things but it sure sounded like "Oh when the Bills go marching in" and the SJU fillies were dancing to the tune !!! That is what I call Brotherly love hospitality if it actually happened.
  10. It worked great all night. Good solid game by the Billikens. When Cody is on, they are tough to beat. I also enjoyed hearing Joe Lunardi's comments. He is having lunch with RM tomorrow.
  11. no contest these of course, just curious how the FF % compares for the year so far. The video showed the band & cheerleaders giving the ladies lots of support. I like the video highlites except for the constant Bills face flashing in between every play. Just a bit distracting every time. This site keeps getting better and better.
  12. After watching the ladies bomb 3's against Duquesne on the latest video I am wondering what their free throw shooting % is for the year, compared to the MBB team we all live and die with. Good win for the ladies too.
  13. What about the spiral I used to see? It made me dizzy watching on TV, was it outlawed? I agree with delphadj, let the ushers try and police the student section, it won't work at a game like yesterday.
  14. It sounds like the problem is at Chaifetz Arena. Could some of you local guys talk to the good doctor to see if he could pony up a few more $$$ for whatever it takes to fix it?
  15. balloons are not fun unless they are filled with water, then the possibilities are endless.
  16. In 1978 I met some silicon valley engineers from Switzerland who invited me down to their office to watch the World Cup final from Argentina, about 30 guys crowded around a TV screen smaller than my computer screen today. A few years later, the bars in San Francisco began installing these huge dishes on their roofs like NASA used back then. Some IU Hoosier alums I knew would call a bar with the satellite coordinates they got from Bloomington (games back there were shown state wide then) and we gathered to watch out here. It was such a big deal, Bobby Knight's son, who was a Stanford student back then, would drive up for the games. Here it is 2012 and the game today was worse technically than anything I remember from 30 years ago!!! I don't know what the problem in SL or Dayton was today, but Fox should be ashamed. If the TV picture was as bad as the internet feed, the advertisers should get a refund.
  17. What were you nervous Nellies worried about? The boys just wanted to give the folks a good show and make it an exciting game instead of a boring blowout, couldn't you tell? I wasn't worried about the win, it was in the bag. The only thing was the nickel-dime TV coverage that got my goat. I don't care who wins the border war, but hope it's a close exciting game like this one. Blowouts put me to sleep.
  18. That does it for me. I'm off until the border war starts at 6 my time. Bye bye.
  19. Are you telling me the TV broadcast is doing the same thing? Somethings wrong in Dayton.
  20. the whole show has been crummy, shaky, bad announcing, sad. I didn't mind until it quit for what I paid to see it. But now I'm PO ed
  21. whoever is directing this is out to lunch
  22. I couldn't help noticing the courtside seats on both ends (From about the free throw line to the end line) were empty at the start of the game. Then a lady with 3 little kids came, followed by their daddy. And 2 older guys got there later and sat at the other end of the row. On the right side there was only a single. lonely guy with about 10 empty seats to his right. Is it hard to just move down there or do the ushers care? The 3 kids behind the middle courtside seats which looked like a few big spenders were having fun cheering for the whole game. Move on down folks, get close to the action. That's what I've ALWAYS DONE.
