  1. I believe to win the A-10 tournament, you will have to win three games in Atlantic City. The top 4 teams (Go Bills) get byes and the 4 winners of the play in games go. Eight teams, means a quarterfinal, semi and final.
  2. Keep Willie off the free throw line, and our percentage will always be much better.
  3. Wish we knew how to play a zone, killing us on dribble to hole, travel and score.
  4. If it's not on channelsurfing, I plan to watch on my computer through the UMASS athletic website. Costs $9.95
  5. The Student section was beyond terrific, the senior set was into it, the team played with great passion and effort, but the game ball goes to RM. He is a PR nightmare, but the man can flat coach. He's assembled an outstanding group of assistants, his players buy into his system, he recruits to his system. THE MAN IS JUST A GREAT COACH!! RM, you get the game ball in my book. Now, let's ALL carry this over to Wednesday, have another great crowd (no excuses about classes, working late, etc. The game starts at 8:00). Let's fill the place, the team has earned it. No doubt RM will have them prepared to play another terrific game. RI has a better rpi than Dayton, go get it boys!!!
  6. I agree it was a fair article and I wish that he had just concentrated on the court success, rather than rehashing the same old junk. However, that's not what he said on his radio show last Friday. He went off on one of his rants about how we should be in the Valley. Total inconsistency.
  7. I know most won't agree with this, but I believe the Good Father has spoken. The team is flying commercial, and RM is being shown what travel in the MVC would be like. The change in travel came after RM continued to publicly state his opinions after being told not to air his thoughts through the media. RM cannot win a war with the Good Father. It's probably time to start a poll on how long he'll be here. I wouldn't be shocked if he's not coaching on Saturday. His comments in the paper were totally out of place, and he wouldn't be working for me any longer. As I've said before, the absolute shame is that the light is so close we can almost touch it. RM, please, just coach and recruit. You're the best in my 40 years of following the Bills. Two road wins is something to celebrate and here we are, amongst the most loyal of Billiken fans, and frankly, no joy!
  8. Joe Gegg was a catcher in the minors, I think, in the Cardinal's organization.
  9. I don't recall many saying RM should shut-up. Some feel like I do that he should keep it in private. How he verbalizes this with May and Biondi is his choice, he just shouldn't do it in the media. As I've said before, this is just a pushing match between two high maintenance, egotists, and RM can't win this shoving match. He needs to publicly shut up about the Valley and the Good Father needs to quit showing RM what travel in the Valley will be like. All they are doing by allowing this to go public is retard the progress of the program. I've previously posted this, and reaffirm it, RM is betting everything on being a winner. Sure looks like he has the team headed quickly in that direction. For many on this board, winning is all that matters. Frankly, I believe his job is to build a program, which includes building excitement on and off campus. Pack the building. Train a group of Assistants that will carry on after he leaves. As we all know, X and Gonzaga are the role models. I'm sure we hope to get there soon. (Hell, I'm 60 and don't have another 30 years to hope) This bickering, which should be internal, only serves to hurt everyone. It doesn't help attendance, which is the only reason that the Good Father hired RM. Attendance=revenue=paying off the debt. I work for a company that is a large sponsor of the Athletic Department, and I've expressed my concerns over this childish behavior. I doubt that it does any good.
  10. You have to pay for the bus to get you around the cities. It just is more economical to use the bus whenever possible.
  11. It goes really far when you are to many the face of the program (company). If RM pulled this kind of stuff with many companies, he'd be on the carpet and told to cool it. While I have no personal knowledge, I suspect that's happened, and he's persisted. Every employer, even the Good Father, has the right to demand some public loyalty or at the very minimum "no comment". RM, please cool it, you've given us hope. Please don't kick us in the teeth now.
  12. RM has done a fantastic job of getting the team to a level where we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. That's the frustrating part about all of this garbage. ITS SO CLOSE, YOU FINALLY TASTE IT. Unfortunately, he hasn't learned that he's an employee of the University. He has a responsibility to publicly support the University's policies and decisions. Some, he may not agree with that, but sorry, that's the way it works. Especially, for someone in the public as much as RM. He can't win a pissing match with the Good Father. Frankly, that's all that this is. It's damn upsetting and frustrating given how close the team is to being that Top 50 Program the Good Father has been wanting.
  13. If JR still can't attend games, because the noise causes headaches, he's not playing this season. My daughter has a long history with concussions, and I've never seen a reaction like this. My guess is that he's had several before. I hope the kid's OK and we see him in uniform next year, but if I were the coaches, I'd be planning for the worst.
  14. Tom, why do you think this? I anticipated not hearing until the April signing period.
  15. In my opinion, no comparison between RM and Spoon. Spoon has a million stories. Spoon will talk to anyone, at any place, at any time. Not RM.
  16. Speaking as a major advertiser with the athletic dept., RM is woefully lacking. It is writtten into contracts that he must do certain things, like the pre and post game show, the Monday call-in show. Frankly, he doesn't care. We've complained several times to SLU and the radio station about his lack of attendance. He's never spoken at the pregame show. Can you imagine a more well rounded (not physically) coach missing these opportunities to sell their program? He doesn't get that part of his job, and frankly he's not very good at it. Regarding the luncheon circuit, he does show up for a minimal amount of them. After you've heard him once there's no need to hear him again. That word has gotten around town. I have not seen or heard him, on the media, hawking products for others. I'm not one for commercials and they get changed pretty quickly. My take, which I've said before, is that he has bet everything on providing a winning team, and everything else will take care of itself. I hope he's right, because he's gambled a lot on it!!
  17. You can go to the Duquesne website and pay the $9.95 to watch the game on-line. Remember to unsubscibe to Duquesne after the game, or you'll be billed $9.95 monthly until you end the subscription.
  18. If I'm not mistaken, the Richmond game is being rerun tonight on FSM at 9:00.
  19. I don't know, he can't catch it and shoot for the others. The guy is a penetrating machine, and our bigs have a difficult time getting to the open space, catching and shooting. I believe this is another element that we should see substantial improvement in, as the players grow into their roles. While no player is above constructive criticism, KM is a real gamer.
  20. That could be a little misleading. Three of the turnovers were offensive fouls, and a couple were passes that our bigs weren't ready for and missed instead of converting to lay-ups.
  21. I think you're right, they probably are in the best shape of their lives. I also know, if you lose your legs, you lose your shot. RM admits he'd rather practice than play games. In normal times, between court time, film room work, lifting weights, etc. the load is challenging, add the extra time spent on the court for the holiday, and it makes me wonder.
  22. Not trying to tick anyone off, but it seems like every Christmas break the team throws off a stinker. Two years ago, the GW fiasco, last year X lays a 26 point loss on us (we only score 44 points), and this year's 50 points and loss to BGSU. I know that RM can practice as much as he wants with school out. Is he killing off the players' legs? We certainly have had shooting problems for several games, but WR and BC gave us fairly consistent performance. Sure, a zone had something to do with their issues, but I just wonder if the team was practiced too much.
  23. There's quite a few athletes receiving $2,000 in athletic scholarships a year who put in an amazing amount of time. I was told the reason the male cheerleaders were discontinued was due to the lack of physical strength of the men(?) who tried out. I attend nearly ever women's bball game, and the last year they had male c-leaders, those guys were incapable of throwing a ball into the seats at good ol' West Pine.
  24. Don't know about his finals, but he went home for a couple of weeks to help recover. My daughter suffered from concussions (soccer) and either JR has an unbelievable problem recovering, has had several in the past (the recovery time for each additional event lengthens), or there are additional issues not previously discussed. In his brief playing time, he appeared to be a good shooter, and the team could use a more consistent outside shooter than we are currently bringing off the bench.
