McMahon would be huge but not likely he would take this job. This job is not very attractive for any big time head coach. The A10 is a bad baseball conference and the travel is even worse. Not to mention the lack of budget these guys will have to deal with. I just can't see anybody of the caliber of Delmonico or McMahon both from a power conference here. How about Vitello from Mizzou? Young assistant with St. Louis ties who is bringing in very good talent as their recruiting coordinator.

Fiala would be awful hire, just ask anyone who has played for him. I would have to boycott SLU baseball even as an alumni. He would not be a good fit for the program or the university.

"Hughes system"? This is baseball, not rocket science. There are no set plays or gameplans. You hit, pitch and field. It is about recruiting and getting the most out of the guys you have. Just because they may not have had a winning record as a player does not mean they are bad baseball people. Delmonico probably makes in the $400K, no way he comes here.

Mike Barger and/or Roy Tippett. Both ex Billiken players who have coaching experience in the area. Mike was with the Rascals and Roy with Forest Park CC. Both are younger energenic guys who can pump life into the program. Bob is a great man who was limited in several aspect when it came to the program. Whoever takes the helm will need more support than Bob has gotten.

I believe it was Suggs who was on the golf cart caravan with Majerus that was seen by the SLU Baseball field. Lisch was also riding along with them. I think it was Suggs as I saw a huge fro going driving by. I was alittle drunk however.

I am sorry Swizzy but have you ever played competitive sports? Your reasoning behind the players on the court being consumed by the chants is ridiculous. When you are on a team you are focused on one thing only, that is to win. You are not wondering that your teammate should be in the game because his mom is in the stands. There is a reason why Brad kept the starters in as he did. They are not good enough to take valuable game time off during the most important stretch of the season. It may sound harsh but this is D1 athletics not your youth sports organization. The best players and the players that you expect to help in the future will play, the others will not. I am proud of Wendell for sticking out 4 years without my PT, it shows how much he cares about the game and more importantly the relationships he had with his teammates. Brad should not be to blame for Wendell not getting in sooner.

Agreed...winning the game is more important than the feelings of one player. I guarantee if you asked Wendell he would say the same thing. Coaches are there to win games and development young men, however they are not paid to make friends.

It made me happy to see Wendell get a chance to get in the game and even get to the line for some points. He reminds me of the modern day Phillip Hunt. Man I loved when that guy got a chance to play. However, I think it is unfair to rip Brad for not getting him in the game sooner. Have we not been through meltdown after meltdown this season? We have seen big leads slip away at home a few times and even up 20 I was not certain we were getting the W. This team has to continue to fight for their playoff lives and making sure the game was well in hand before emptying the bench was the right thing to do. I dont see anything wrong in what Brad did last night. Plus I wanted to see Ian, Tommie and Kevin all get to 20 points. Has that ever happen in Bills history? Although it would have game against a team that looked like DeSmet it would have been pretty cool.

I saw LaSalle at 400 Olive eating dinner Friday night and asked one of their assistant coaches if they were interested in Mardi Gras during the day. I told them they can get all boozed up before the game, he looked at me as if I just kicked his dog. I of course was joking but glad we won because he was a prick. I wanted to head over to their hotel after the game and rub it in, thankfully my wife had me on a leash.

If I had my choice of any state school in the country to root for Mizzou would be one of my last choices. Think about it: Florida Georgia North Carolina Alabama Texas Oklahoma West Va. Oregon Washington Cal Arkansas Missouri might be ahead of places like Wyoming or Idaho but not many more. There is nothing exciting about this big state school's athletic program.

Agreed. Our offense works best when we go inside-out. I know our bench is limited but why does Brown continue to get minutes? Dustin can't be much worse.

I am not jumping on the Bryce train but I think a start Saturday mightlight a fire under Ian. If it doesnt then we can pack it in because Ian will be the same player he has been the last few games and it was awful.

You say that AK and DM cant contribute right now but how do we know for sure? They couldnt be any worse than DB who plays timid and scared. I dont understand why he continues to get minutes. He wouldnt even play on my high school team and I went to an all girls school.

We have a baseball booster club meeting Sat at Humphs and I wanted to know if there was anyway the game would be televised there? If not any other places downtown carry it?
